Textile dyes are dramatic sources of pollution and non-aesthetic disturbance of aquatic life and therefore represent a potential risk of bioaccumulation that can affect living *** is imperative to reduce or eliminate these dyes from liquid effluents with innovative biomaterials and ***,this research aims to highlight the performance of Capparis spinosa L waste-activated carbon(CSLW-AC)adsorbent to remove crystal violet(CV)from an aqueous *** mechanism of CV adsorption on CSLW-AC was evaluated based on the coupling of experimental data and different characterization *** efficiency of the CSLW-AC material reflected by the equilibrium adsorption capacity of CV could reach more than 195.671 mg·g^(–1) when 0.5 g·L^(–1) of CSLW-AC(Particle size≤250μm)is introduced into the CV of initial concentration of 100 mg·L^(–1) at pH 6 and temperature 65℃ and in the presence of potassium ions after 60 min of contact time according to the one parameter at a time *** adsorption behavior of CV on CSLW-AC was found to be consistent with the pseudo-second-order kinetic model and Frumkin's linear isothermal *** thermodynamic aspects indicate that the process is physical,spontaneous,and *** optimization of the process by the Box Behnken design of experiments resulted in an adsorption capacity approaching 183.544 mg·g^(–1)([CV]=100 mg·L^(–1) and[CSLW-AC]=0.5 g·L^(–1) at 35 min).The results of the Lactuca sativa seeds germination in treated CV(70%),adsorbent solvent and thermal regeneration(more than 5 cycles),and process cost analysis(1.0484 USD·L^(–1))tests are encouraging and promising for future exploitations of the CSLW-AC material in different industrial fields.

In 2023,pivotal advancements in artificial intelligence(AI)have significantly *** that in mind,traditional methodologies,notably the p-y approach,have struggled to accurately model the complex,nonlinear soil-structure interactions of laterally loaded large-diameter drilled *** study undertakes a rigorous evaluation of machine learning(ML)and deep learning(DL)techniques,offering a comprehensive review of their application in addressing this geotechnical challenge.A thorough review and comparative analysis have been carried out to investigate various AI models such as artificial neural networks(ANNs),relevance vector machines(RVMs),and least squares support vector machines(LSSVMs).It was found that despite ML approaches outperforming classic methods in predicting the lateral behavior of piles,their‘black box'nature and reliance only on a data-driven approach made their results showcase statistical robustness rather than clear geotechnical insights,a fact underscored by the mathematical equations derived from these ***,the research identified a gap in the availability of drilled shaft datasets,limiting the extendibility of current findings to large-diameter *** extensive dataset,compiled from a series of lateral loading tests on free-head drilled shaft with varying properties and geometries,was introduced to bridge this *** paper concluded with a direction for future research,proposes the integration of physics-informed neural networks(PINNs),combining data-driven models with fundamental geotechnical principles to improve both the interpretability and predictive accuracy of AI applications in geotechnical engineering,marking a novel contribution to the field.

Regional Climate Models in the Simulation of the Drought of the 1970’s and 1980’s Years in Senegal (In West Africa)

West Africa was hit by an unprecedented drought in the 1970’s and 1980’s years, with dramatic consequences for surface and groundwater resources. In the context of climate change, there are many studies for the prediction of the increase in the occurrence of these droughts. To predict this situation in the Senegalese region, it is necessary to use regional climate models, which carrying out the study. This work deals with the interest to examine the capacity of the RCMs (regional climate models) in order to reproduce the deficit on the 1970’s year rainfall in Senegal. In this work, we used daily precipitation data from five (5) regional climate models to characterize the droughts in Senegal by using the SPI (Standardized Precipitation Index) on different time scales (3, 6, 12 and 24 months). For this purpose, the index was calculated over two distinct periods: 1951-1969 and 1970-1990. The results show that the period 1970-1990 was drier than the period 1951-1969. For the zonal average, the results show that the North of Senegal was more affected by this deficit rainfall than the South part. The analysis of the interannual variability of rainfall for some stations in Senegal shows that the drought did not start at the same time throughout the zone.

Geothermobarometry of Askaoun Pluton in Ouzellarh-Sirwa Promontory (Central Anti-Atlas;Morocco)

Rocks of the late Neoproterozoic Askaoun pluton (558 ± 2 Ma) located in the Ouzellarh-Sirwa promontory (Anti-Atlas) include magmatic microgranular enclaves (MMEs) ranging from rounded to ovoid in shape, dark and fine grained and generally 5 to 10 cm in size, some reaching a size of 50 cm. They are composed of microdiorite, quartz microdiorite and micromonzodiorite, whereas the felsic host rocks comprise mainly quartz-diorite and amphibole-biotite granodiorite based on mineralogical compositions. The mineral assemblage is similar to those described in their hosting granitoids but with different proportions. In this study composition of minerals is used to describe the nature of the magma and estimate the pressure, temperature and oxygen fugacity at which Askaoun pluton is emplaced. Based on chemistry of biotite Askaoun pluton formed from calc-alkaline magma. Compositions of plagioclase (An5 - An29);hornblende (Mg ≠= 0.59 - 0.65) and biotite (Mg ≠= 0.49 - 0.55) of MMEs are slightly distinct or similar to those of host rocks (An7-40;hbl Mg ≠= 0.64 - 0.69;Bi Mg ≠= 0.49 - 0.50) which suggest partial to complete equilibration during mafic-felsic magma interaction. The coexisting hornblende and plagioclase (hornblende-plagioclase thermometry), Al content in hornblende (aluminum-in-hornblende barometry) and the assemblage titanite-magnetite-quartz were used to constrain the P, T and fO2 during the crystallization of the parent magmas. The Askaoun pluton was emplaced at temperature ca. 504°C - 633°C and at pressure ca. 0.9 - 4.66 ± 0.6 Kbars (average depth = 6.5 km) from a highly oxidized magma (log fO2 = ?24.8 to ?19.2).

AIM： TO establish a cell culture system with longterm replication of hepatitis C virus （HCV） genome and expression of viral antigens in vitro. METHODS： HepG2 cell line was tested for its susceptibility to HCV by incubation with a serum from a patient with chronic hepatitis C. Cells and supernatant were harvested at various time points during the culture. Culture supernatant was tested for its ability to infect na＇ive cells. The presence of minus （antisense） RNA strand, and the detection of core and E1 antigens in cells were examined by RT-PCR and immunological techniques （flow cytometry and Western blot） respectively. RESULTS： The intracellular HCV RNA was first detected on d 3 after infection and then could be consistently detected in both cells and supernatant over a period of at least three months. The fresh cells could be infected with supernatant from cultured infected cells. Flow cytometric analysis showed surface and intracellular HCV antigen expression using in house made polyclonal antibodies （anti-core, and anti-E1）. Western blot analysis showed the expression of a cluster of immunogenic peptides at molecular weights extended between 31 and 45 kDa in an one month old culture of infected cells whereas this cluster was undetectable in uninfected HepG2 cells. CONCLUSION： HepG2 cell line is not only susceptible to HCV infection but also supports its replication in vitro. Expression of HCV structural proteins can be detected in infected HepG2 cells. These cells are also capable of shedding viral particles into culture media which in turn become infectious to uninfected cells.

The pathophysiology of irritable bowel syndrome(IBS)is not completely ***,several factors are known to play a role in pathophysiology of IBS such as genetics,diet,gut microbiota,gut endocrine cells,stress and low-grade *** the pathophysiology of IBS may open the way for new treatment *** density of intestinal stem cells and low differentiation toward enteroendocrine cells has been reported recently in patients with *** abnormalities are believed to be the cause of the low density of enteroendocrine cells seen in patients with *** cells regulate gastrointestinal motility,secretion,absorption and visceral *** dysmotility,abnormal absorption/secretion and visceral hypersensitivity are all seen in patients with IBS and haven been attributed to the low density the intestinal enteroendocrine cells in these *** present review conducted a literature search in medline(Pub med)covering the last ten years until November 2019,where articles in English were *** about the intestinal stem cells and their possible role in the pathophysiology of IBS are discussed in the present *** present review discusses the assumption that intestinal stem cells play a central role in the pathophysiology of IBS and that the other factors known to contribute to the pathophysiology of IBS such as genetics,diet gut microbiota,stress,and lowgrade inflammation exert their effects through affecting the intestinal stem *** reports further the data that support this assumption on genetics,diet,gut microbiota,stress with depletion of glutamine,and inflammation.

The purposes of this study were to describe and compare the techniques used by elite world triple jumper and the Algerian elite team to determine the impact of distribution modality phases allowing the elite to exceeds 17-meter. Our subjects were two world elite 2009 and two Algerian national elite 2013. In the lack of new technology Modem measuring instruments kinematics or kinetics, our study based in measure of the Phase distribution ratio as measure of Stride length Jump distance. That literature review two schools, the Russian technique （which emphasizes the hop phase） and the Polish technique （which emphasizes the jump phase）. Our aims for this study are： Are there any statistically significant differences between the results of the samples in the distance achieved？ Are there any statistically significant differences between practical Ratio relative distances （world 2009-national 2013）？ Are there any statistically significant differences between Stride length phase distances （world 2009-national 2013）？ For that, we have chosen the analysis of variance and correlation of the distances achieved in each of the phases with the official distance of jumper and ＂T＂ student to compare implementation distribution of phases （hop, step and jump） with the results accuses. Based on the practices and weaknesses of elites in practice, we confirm：（1） All the samples practice the Russian technique as model in the distribution of the phase ratio; （2） The problem of our elites is in the hop phase distribution and its relationship with other phases; （3） Improve achieve horizontal vertical velocity in hop phase as solution.

A Conservative and Monotone Characteristic finite element Solver for Three-Dimensional Transport and Incompressible Navier-Stokes Equations on Unstructured Grids

We propose a mass-conservative and monotonicity-preserving characteristic finite element method for solving three-dimensional transport and incompressibleNavier-Stokes equations on unstructured grids. The main idea in the proposed algorithm consists of combining a mass-conservative and monotonicity-preserving modified method of characteristics for the time integration with a mixed finite elementmethod for the space discretization. This class of computational solvers benefits fromthe geometrical flexibility of the finite elements and the strong stability of the modi-fied method of characteristics to accurately solve convection-dominated flows usingtime steps larger than its Eulerian counterparts. In the current study, we implementthree-dimensional limiters to convert the proposed solver to a fully mass-conservativeand essentially monotonicity-preserving method in addition of a low computationalcost. The key idea lies on using quadratic and linear basis functions of the mesh element where the departure point is localized in the interpolation procedures. Theproposed method is applied to well-established problems for transport and incompressible Navier-Stokes equations in three space dimensions. The numerical resultsillustrate the performance of the proposed solver and support its ability to yield accurate and efficient numerical solutions for three-dimensional convection-dominatedflow problems on unstructured tetrahedral meshes.

Ensuring water security by utilizing roof-harvested rainwater and lake water treated with a low-cost integrated adsorption-filtration system

Drinking water is supplied through a centralized water supply system and may not be accessed by communities in rural areas of *** study investigated the performance of a low-cost, self-prepared combined activated carbon and sand filtration(CACSF) system for roofharvested rainwater and lake water for potable use. Activated carbon was self-prepared using locally sourced coconut shell and was activated using commonly available salt rather than a high-tech procedure that requires a chemical reagent. The filtration chamber was comprised of local,readily available sand. The experiments were conducted with varying antecedent dry intervals(ADIs) of up to 15 d and lake water with varying initial chemical oxygen demand(COD) concentration. The CACSF system managed to produce effluents complying with the drinking water standards for the parameters p H, dissolved oxygen(DO), biochemical oxygen demand(BOD5), COD, total suspended solids(TSS), and ammonia nitrogen(NH_3-N). The CACSF system successfully decreased the population of Escherichia coli(E. coli) in the influents to less than 30 CFU/m L. Samples with a higher population of E. coli(that is, greater than 30 CFU/m L) did not show 100% removal. The system also showed high potential as an alternative for treated drinking water for roof-harvested rainwater and class II lake water.
