Rechargeable sodium metal batteries constitute a cost-effective option for energy storage although sodium shows some drawbacks in terms of reactivity with organic solvents and dendritic *** we demonstrate that an organic dye,indanthrone blue,behaves as an efficient cathode material for the development of secondary sodium metal batteries when combined with novel inorganic *** electrolytes are ammonia solvates,known as liquid ammoniates,which can be formulated as NaI·3.3NH_(3) and NaBF_(4)·2.5NH_(3).They impart excellent stability to sodium metal,and they favor sodium non-dendritic growth linked to their exceedingly high sodium ion *** advantage is complemented by a high specific *** battery described here can last hundreds of cycles at 10 C while keeping a Coulombic efficiency of 99%from the first *** of the high capacity of the cathode and the superior physicochemical properties of the electrolytes,the battery can reach a specific energy value as high as 210 W h kgIB^(-1),and a high specific power of 2.2 kW kgIB^(-1),even at below room temperature(4℃).Importantly,the battery is based on abundant and cost-effective materials,bearing promise for its application in large-scale energy storage.

In the context of Semiosic Translation,two elements are essential for a translation to emerge:the body–brain–context interface(extended mind)and the sign systems making up a translation *** this paper,I explain how a renewed view of the body as a Bayesian-heuristic Semiotic Prior helps to understand in a more holistic manner the motivations and agentive character of translation,defined herein as a phenomenological grasp of the *** to the present proposal is the idea that bodily self-stabilization(homeostasis)and brain-driven correction(allostasis)provide translator-agents with maps of action upon the world that are semiotic in *** this occurs thanks to information weighing(Bayesian)and cue-driven(heuristic)types of inference whereby exteroceptive(exogenous)and interoceptive(inner-body)signals converge to create a sense of bodily awareness responsible for the construction of the symbolic persona(the translator-agent).

The design of metro stations constitutes a clear example of the new core role of culture in a city such as Shanghai that remains to be assessed from a critical heritage *** an unexplored dimension of a massive heritage institutional apparatus,metro stations act as‘white canvases’where commercial,political and cultural messages are *** messages contribute to city branding while simultaneously influencing the perception and interpretation of the historic urban landscape above *** research offers insights into the subway stations located in the listed heritage areas of Shanghai and the architectural,artistic and exhibitive resources that‘give character’to these *** research applies visual methods and discursive analysis based on direct observation of these‘characteristic’elements in metro *** paper establishes the argument that the amount and distribution of these characteristic elements in the metro network offers unequal representation of the importance of the heritage areas *** represented,we argue that such features convey renewed narratives of urban identity according to an authorised heritage discourse in *** narratives cater to an image of ideal,harmonious continuity between the past and the future that aims to characterise Shanghai as a Chinese global metropolis.

Dear Editor,I am *** Montolío-Marzo from FISABIO Oftalmología Médica,Valencia,Spain.I write you to present a case report of epithelial downgrowth in an aphakic *** epithelial downgrowth is one of the most feared complications in cases of penetrating ocular trauma or recurrent ocular *** progress can affect all the ocular structures,giving rise to corneal decompensation,retinal detachment,difficult-to-treat glaucoma or phthisis bulbi and many cases end in enucleation[1].Fortunately,the incidence of this condition is very low,there being between 0.08%and 0.12%after cataract surgery and 0.25%after penetrating *** infrequency means that scientific evidence is reduced to case series and the opinions of experts without there being a homogeneous criterion to guide the work of the doctor in *** these reasons,epithelial downgrowth is still a diagnostic and therapeutic challenge.

The importance of MYC function in cancer was discovered in the late 1970s when the sequence of the avian retrovirus that causes myelocytic leukemia was *** then,over 40 years of unceasing research have highlighted the significance of this protein in malignant transformation,especially in hematologic ***,some of the earliest connections among the higher expression of proto-oncogenes(such as MYC),genetic rearrangements and their relation to cancer development were made in Burkitt lymphoma,chronic myeloid leukemia and mouse *** myeloma(MM),in particular,is a plasma cell malignancy strictly associated with MYC deregulation,suggesting that therapeutic strategies against it would be beneficial in treating this ***,targeting MYC was-and,somehow,still is-challenging due to its unique properties:lack of defined three-dimensional structure,nuclear localization and absence of a targetable enzymatic *** these difficulties,however,many studies have shown the potential therapeutic impact of direct or indirect MYC *** molecules have been tested,in fact,in the context of *** this review,we summarize the current status of the different compounds,including the results of their clinical testing,and propose to continue with the efforts to identify,repurpose,redesign or improve drug candidates to combine them with standard of care therapies to overcome resistance and enable better management of myeloma treatment.

A growing body of evidence indicates that exposure to environmental chemicals can contribute to the etiology of obesity by inappropriately stimulating adipogenesis as well as perturbing lipid metabolism and energy balance. One potential mechanism by which chemical exposure can influence lipid metabolism is through disturbance of circadian rhythms, endogenously-driven cycles of roughly 24 hr in length that coordinate biochemical, physiological, and behavioral processes in all organisms. Here we show for the first time that exposure to endocrine disrupting compounds（EDCs）, including the pesticide tributyltin, two commercial flame retardants, and a UV-filter chemical found in sunscreens,can perturb both circadian clocks and lipid metabolism in vertebrates. Exposure of developing zebrafish to EDCs affects core clock activity and leads to a remarkable increase in lipid accumulation that is reminiscent of the effects observed for longdaysin, a known disruptor of circadian rhythms. Our data reveal a novel obesogenic mechanism of action for environmental chemicals, an observation which warrants further research. Because circadian clocks regulate a wide variety of physiological processes, identification of environmental chemicals capable of perturbing these systems may provide important insights into the development of environmentally-induced metabolic disease.

In the face of worldwide amphibian declines,integrative studies combining individual-based information and genetic data represent a powerful approach to produce robust,reliable,and comparable assessments of demographic *** Iberian painted frog(Discoglossus galganoi)is endemic to Spain and Portugal and shows decreasing population trends across its range,but few studies have attempted to estimate census sizes or assess genetic diversity in wild populations,and little is known about their reproductive *** applied an integrative approach based on the combination of capture-mark-recapture data and multilocus genotypes to monitor a breeding population of *** in central Spain during two consecutive breeding seasons,focusing on the estimation of demographic parameters and their temporal ***,we estimated the number of adults(Na),the effective population size(Ne),and the effective number of breeders(Nb),as well as survival and migration *** documented a>50%decrease in the estimated number of adults of both sexes between the breeding seasons of 2018 and 2019,probably associated with reduced rainfall in the *** of Nb and the Nb/Na ratio were low in both seasons,with a 20–30%decrease in Nb and a 47%increase in the Nb/Na ratio in *** on the reconstruction of pedigrees from larval and adult genotypes,we provide the first genetic evidence of polygamy in males and females of *** and the first estimates of breeding success in the species.

For a one-dimensional conservative system with position depending mass, one deduces consistently a constant of motion, a lagrangian, and a Hamiltonian for the nonrelativistic case. With these functions, one shows the trajectories on the spaces (x,v) and (x,p) for a linear position depending mass. For the relativistic case, the lagrangian and Hamiltonian cannot be given explicitly in general. However, we study the particular system with constant force and mass linear dependence on the position where the lagrangian can be found explicitly, but the Hamiltonian remains implicit in the constant of motion.
