Hypertension 10.5%, stroke 6.6%, asthma 5%, COPD 4%, diabetes mellitus 1.3%, cancer 1%, coronary heart disease 0.5%. In Cipunagara Health Center at 2016, the number of NCD (non-communicable disease) was 1,098 cases and 53.6% cases were hypertension. Research purpose was to prove risk factor of hypertension in Cipunagara Health Center, Subang district at year 2017. Materials and methode: Research applied, crossectional, sample 61 respondents, incidental sampling, one day in Cipunagara and analyzed descriptive and analytic correlation. Results: 85.2% hypertension and complication, 14.8% diabetes mellitus, age ≥ 60 year 52.5%, women 73.8%, elementary level education 93.4%, housewife 54.1%, farmer 39.3%, genetic 75.4 %, smoking 23.0%, alcohol 24.6%, less activity 82%, less fruit and vegetables 80.3%, high salt consumption more than 1 tablespoon 68.9%, high caloric consumption 52.5%, good manage stress 73.8%, obesity 59%, abdominal sircumference normal 70.5%. Correlation results showed only salt consumption was significant and other variables included in model regression smoking, alcohol, stress, calory, activity. Final model of regression salt consumption p 0.019, OR 6.693, 95% CI.1.374-32.612, R216%;caloric consumption p 0.099, OR 0.229, 95% CI 0.040-1.322, R28%. Conclusions: non-communicable diseases risk factor was highest consumption salt and calory has contributed 24 %. Suggestions: reduced salt and calory consumption, salt engineering for reduce hypertension.

Context and Objectives: Stomach cancer ranks fifth in incidence and fourth in mortality worldwide. In Senegal, there were 597 new cases in 2020, with a mortality rate of almost 70%. The aim of this study was to develop a machine-learning model for the prognosis of death from stomach cancer 5 years after treatment. Methods: Our study sample consisted of 262 patients treated for gastric cancer at Aristide le Dantec Hospital and followed postoperatively between 2007 and 2020. We developed a multilayer perceptron with optimal hyperparameters and compared its performance with standard classification algorithms. We also augmented our data with a set of synthetic data generators to evaluate the behaviour of the model when faced with a larger amount of data. Results: Our model obtained an accuracy of 97.5%, outperforming the SVM (93%), RF (93.8%) and KNN (92.7%) models. An improvement of 1.5% in accuracy was achieved with synthetic data. Our study showed that the most pejorative factors in the evolution of the cancer were the appearance of hepatic metastases or adenopathy, smoking, and the infiltrative and stenosing aspects of the tumour on endoscopy. Conclusion: Our model predicted the occurrence of death from gastric cancer with very high accuracy, outperforming standard classification algorithms. The increase in training data produced an improvement in accuracy. Our study will help doctors to personalize the management of gastric cancer patients.

Cryopreservation, the storage of biological materials in liquid nitrogen (LN), is a useful method for long term conservation of plant germplasm. This study was carried out with the objective of establishing an efficient desiccation technique for successful cryopreservation and recovery of embryonic axes of groundnut. Embryonic axes of four groundnut (Arachis hypogaea L.) genotypes were evaluated. The excised embryonic axes were dehydrated by air current of a laminar air flow cabinet for different duration (0, 1, 2, 3, 4 & 5 hrs) before being plunged in LN (-196℃) and held for 1 hr. Samples were thawed in water bath at 40℃?for 2 min, thereafter cultured on MS medium supplemented with 15 mg/L BAP for recovery. Highest survival (96.67%-100%) and shoot formation (91.67%-96.67%) were obtained at an average moisture content of 17% after 4-5 hr desiccation. Among the genotypes evaluated, Samnut 22 and Samnut 23 recorded the highest survival and shoot formation. This technique therefore appears promising for cryopreservation of groundnut germplasm.

The management, control and elimination of tuberculosis (TB) have been difficult with the advent of HIV and cases of multidrug resistant (MDR-TB) tuberculosis. The cases of multidrug resistance to rifampicin and isoniazid pose greater challenges on first line and second line drugs to eliminate TB. The study is aimed at establishing anti-tuberculosis activity of Tetrapleura tetraptera against Mycobacterium tuberculosis and MDR-TB and the phytochemical present. The leaves of Tetrapleura tetraptera were collected, weighed, dried and pulverized to powder. The pulverized leaves of Tetrapleura tetraptera were subjected to 70% methanol extraction and screened for phytochemical. The crude extract was further purified into fractions using silica gel and thin layer chromatography techniques. M. tuberculosis and MDR-TB were obtained from positive acid fast bacilli sputa of TB patients and confirmed using GeneXpert to differentiate genotypic drug susceptible M. tuberculosis and MDR-TB. The sputa were digested using sodium hydroxide-cysteine technique and cultured in Middlebrook 7H9. The crude extract and fractions were screened for anti-tuberculosis activity using tetrazolium microtitre plate assay. The results showed that Tetrapleura tetraptera crude had activities against M. tuberculosis at 7.4 ± 0 mg/ml and 27.5 ± 0 mg/ml for MDR-TB. One of the fractions inhibited the growth of M. tuberculosis at 0.24 ± 0 mg/ml and MDR-TB at 0.89 ± 0 mg/ml. The phytochemical screened includes tannins, alkaloids, saponins, flavonoids, phenols and resins. T. tetraptra possesses anti-tuberculosis potential at low concentration on MDR-TB and can be a lead compound in drug development for the treatment of tuberculosis and multidrug resistant tuberculosis.

Recent empirical work suggested that the ability of accounting numbers to explain the relationship between accounting numbers and stock prices has deteriorated over the past four decades. The findings of this study suggest that the accounting earnings and book value are capturing most of the information that is relevant to assess the values of firms. At the same time, it also suggests that earnings and book value as well as non-accounting beta are more valued during the financial crisis as compared to after the financial crisis. Overall, the accounting estimate of the value of the firm is not deviating from the markets＇ estimate, which suggests that accounting numbers play an important role in the valuation of firms in Malaysia.

In Central African Republic, edible caterpillars of Imbrasia gender are income of rural populations, present an opportunity to improve food security and belonging to the category of Non-wood forest products. The goal of this study is to document the ecology of caterpillars of genre Imbrasia in relation to its host plants in Boukoko. The questionnaire was addressed to the actors of the collection and consumption of caterpillars in this Commune, to their local knowledge concerning this food resource as well as the plants of their locality on which caterpillars are collected. The survey took place in September to October 2022 and as a general rule, the 120 respondents were elderly people whose age range varied from 35 to 70 years old. Plant samples are collected in their natural environment. Based on local names;herbaria are mounted, plants photographed and samples collected. The types of edible caterpillars have been inventoried in the field in collaboration with the local populations who consume them. Based on local names, the caterpillars are captured manually from morphological traits and then stored in bottles containing 70% ethanol. The specimens were identified. The data was entered into the Excel spreadsheet which also made it possible to produce histograms with the frequencies of the plant species most valued by the different caterpillars. A Principal Component Analysis (PCA) was then performed using R software to highlight the correlation between caterpillars and host plants. The main economic importance trees hosting edible caterpillars of Imbrasia gender in Boukoko region are: Entandrophragma cylindricum, Pentaclethra macrophylla, Maesopsis eminii, Albizia ferruginea, Macaranga spinosa, Amphimas ferrugineus, Pentaclethra macrophylla, Racosperma auriculiforme, Eribroma oblonga. 圆二色性效应在圆偏振器、光调制器及光电器件等方面具有广泛的应用.为提高平面金属微纳结构的圆二色性,本文设计了由无限长纳米线和G形微纳结构组成的平面复合金属微纳结构,并应用有限元方法研究了该阵列微纳结构的圆二色性特性.数值计算结果显示,在圆偏振光的激发下,G形微纳结构和平面复合金属微纳结构均出现了电偶极子、电四极子和电八极子等共振模式.当G形微纳结构与无限长纳米线连接时,各共振波长均发生红移,并且无限长纳米线增加了不同圆偏振光激发下的局域表面等离激元共振强度,从而使得平面复合微纳结构的圆二色性信号明显增强.此外,还研究了平面复合微纳结构阵列的几何参数对其圆二色性特性的影响.这些结果为提高平面手性微纳结构的圆二色性信号强度提供一定的指导思路和方法.

Context: Compared to adults, there are relatively few studies on pediatric COVID-19 due to the high rate of asymptomatic or paucisymptomatic forms. The aim of this study is to determine the epidemiological, clinical, therapeutic, evolutionary and prognostic aspects of COVID-19 infection in children. Patients and Methods: This was a prospective analytical study carried out from February 27, 2021 to January 27, 2022 at the COVID-19 Care Center of the Infectious and Tropical Diseases Department of the Bouaké University Teaching Hospital. The study population consisted of all children under the age of 16, seen in consultation and/or hospitalized with a positive COVID-19 RT-PCR. Data analysis was performed with Epi Info 7 software. The statistical tests used were the chi-square test and Fisher’s exact test depending on the conditions of validity with a significance threshold of p Results: Out of 955 patients received at the COVID-19 Care Center in Bouaké, there were 56 children (26 boys/30 girls), or, a prevalence of 5.86%. The mean age was 9.18 years ± 4.48 [extremes 3 months and 15 years]. Children over the age of 11 accounted for 48.21% of cases. They were contact cases in 35.71% and the contact person was the mother in 75% of cases. The main reasons for screening were cough (67.86%), fever (25%) and sneezing (21.43%). The pathological histories were asthma (83.33%), heart disease (33.33%) and sickle cell disease (16.67%). The medical examination revealed 6 cases of children in vital distress. The care consisted of home confinement for simple cases (89.29%) and hospitalization for cases presenting with vital distress (10.71%). The duration of confinement or hospitalization was between 10 and 15 days in 83.93% of cases. No cases of death were noted.
