Genetic and epigenetic characteristics of gastric cancers with JC virus T-antigen

AIM:To clarify the significance of JC virus(JCV)T-antigen (T-Ag)expression in human gastric cancer. METHODS:We investigated the relationship between T-Ag detected by immunohistochemistry and Epstein- Barr virus(EBV)infection,microsatellite instability (MSI),and genetic and epigenetic alterations in gastric *** in the p53,β-catenin,KRAS,BRAF, PIK3CA genes were analyzed by polymerase chain reaction(PCR)-single strand conformation polymorphism and DNA *** losses were determined by PCR at 7 microsatellite *** DNA methylation was analyzed by MethyLight assay. RESULTS:JCV T-Ag protein expression was found in 49%of 90 gastric cancer tissues.T-Ag positivity was not correlated with clinicopathological characteristics. T-Ag expression was detected in a similar percentage of EBV positive cancers(4 of 9,44%)and EBV negativecancers(35 of 73,48%).T-Ag expression was detected in a significantly lower percentage of MSI-H cancers (14%)than in non MSI-H cancers(55%,P=0.005). T-Ag expression was detected in a significantly higher percentage of cancers with nuclear/cytoplasmic localization of catenin(15 of 21,71%)than in cancers without(42%,P=0.018).p53 mutations were detected in a significantly lower percentage of T-Ag positive cancers(32%)than in T-Ag negative cancers(57%,P= 0.018).T-Ag positive gastric cancers showed a significant increase in the allelic losses and aberrant methylation compared with T-Ag negative gastric cancers(P=0.008 and P=0.003). CONCLUSION:The results suggest that JCV T-Ag is involved in gastric carcinogenesis through multiple mechanisms of genetic and epigenetic alterations.

By applying two donor-acceptor motif molecules,5,10-di(pyridin-4-yl)-5,10-dihydrophenazine(L1)and 10,10'-di(pyridin-3-yl)-10H,10'H-9,9'-spiroacridine(L2),as ligands and CuI/AgCF3CO2 as metal salt,we synthesized three coordination polymers,namely,{Cu4(L1)2I4}(CP1),{Cu(L2)I·CHCl3}(CP2)and{Ag(L2)CO2CF3·CHCl3}(CP3).X-ray crystallographic analysis revealed that three coordination polymers all feature one-dimensional(1D)linear chains which are consisting of molecular boxlike *** comparison with low photoluminescence quantum yield(PLQY)of two ligands,three coordination polymers,CP1,CP2 and CP3,present more intense photoluminescence with PLQY of 15%,46%and 34%at room temperature *** PL emission of CP1 and CP2 at room temperature could be attributed to the fast phosphorescence with lifetime both around 5 ms due to effective intersystem crossing(ISC).Whilst,it is worth noting that CP3 exhibit thermally activated delayed fluorescence(TADF)emission at room temperature.

A secret sharing scheme is one of cryptographies. A threshold scheme, which is introduced by Shamir in 1979, is very famous as a secret sharing scheme. We can consider that this scheme is based on Lagrange's interpolation formula. A secret sharing scheme has one key. On the other hand, a multi-secret sharing scheme has more than one keys;that is, a multi-secret sharing scheme has p (≥2) keys. Dealers distribute shares of keys among n participants. Gathering t (≤n) participants, keys can be reconstructed. In this paper, we give a scheme of a (t,n) multi-secret sharing based on Hermite interpolation, in the case of p≤t.

Sintered ceramics of Ca0.9A0.1MnO3-δ(A = La, Nd, Sm, Gd and Y) were studied on their cathode properties in LiOHaq. solution. After firing, the samples were obtained as high conductivity sintered (porous) materials composed of an orthorhombic perovskite-type phase. Next, charge discharge performances of the electrodes consisting of the sintered sample were investigated. The discharge capacity of Ca0.9Y0.1MnO3-δwas 185 mAh·g-1on the 1st cycling, and the 1st charging was possible by 130 mAh·g-1. However, the 2nd discharge capacity remarkably decreased to lower than 50 mAh·g-1. Considering no obvious charging property on the previous La-substituted sample of Ca0.9La0.1MnO3-δ, it would mean that change of the substituent for CaMnO3 affects the electrochemical property. The roll of lithium ions, the effect of the cut-off potential range on the cycle performance would be discussed leading to the charge/discharge results of the cell (-)Zn/LiOHaq./Ca0.9Y0.1MnO3-δ(+).

The existence of positive solutions to the system of ordinary differential equations related to the Belousov-Zhabotinsky reaction is established. The key idea is to use a new successive approximation of solutions, ensuring its positivity. To obtain the positivity and invariant region for numerical solutions, the system is discretized as difference equations of explicit form, employing operator splitting methods with linear stability conditions. Algorithm to solve the alternate solution is given.

The design of large disk array architectures leads to interesting combinatorial problems. Minimizing the number of disk operations when writing to consecutive disks leads to the concept of “cluttered orderings” which were introduced for the complete graph by Cohen et al. (2001). Mueller et al. (2005) adapted the concept of wrapped Δ-labellings to the complete bipartite case. In this paper, we give some sequence in order to generate wrapped Δ-labellings as cluttered orderings for the complete bipartite graph. New sequence we give is different from the sequences Mueller et al. gave, though the same graphs in which these sequences are labeled.

Since 2011 Indonesia has become the world’s largest exporter of steam coal. Two supporting factors of Indonesia to be the largest exporter are its enormous production and low operating cost. This paper foresees the production and extraction cost of Indonesian coal in the coming period to evaluate marketing policies and estimate the cost of Indonesian coal supply in domestic market as well as in export market. The production forecasting is carried out by Gompertz curve. Peak production of Indonesian coal is expected to take place in 2026. Moreover, the extraction cost in coal basins which produce high calorific value of coal, in accordance to the operating cost forecasting, is higher than the one with low calorific value of coal due to its higher stripping ratio. Three main basins of Central Sumatra, Tarakan, and Barito basins play major rule in supplying coal for domestic use in short term. And other coal basins such as South Sumatra, Kutai, Bengkulu, and Ombilin basins provide long term supply in the domestic and export markets.

AIM To examine the role of soluble fibrin monomer complex(SFMC) in the prediction of hypercoagulable state after gastroenterological *** We collected data on the clinical risk factors and fibrin-related makers from patients who underwent gastroenterological surgery at Hiroshima University Hospital between April 1, 2014 and March 31, 2015. We investigated the clinical significance of SFMC, which is known to reflect the early plasmatic activation of coagulation, in the view of these fibrin related *** A total of 123 patients were included in the present study. There were no patients with symptomatic VTE. Thirty-five(28%) patients received postoperative anticoagulant therapy. In the multivariate analysis, a high SFMC level on POD 1 was independently associated with D-dimer elevation on POD 7(OR = 4.31, 95%CI: 1.10-18.30, P = 0.03). The cutoff SFMC level was 3.8 μg/ml(AUC = 0.78, sensitivity, 63%, specificity, 89%). The D-dimer level on POD 7 was significantly reduced in high-SFMC patients who received anticoagulant therapy in comparison to highSFMC patients who did *** The SFMC on POD 1 strongly predicted the hypercoagulable state after gastroenterological surgery than the clinical risk factors and the other fibrin related markers.
