Nowadays,it is clear that adult stem cells,also called as tissue stem cells,play a central role to repair and maintain the tissue in which they reside by their selfrenewal ability and capacity of differentiating into distinct and specialized *** stem cells age,their renewal ability declines and their capacity to maintain organ homeostasis and regeneration is *** a molecular perspective,these changes in stem cells properties can be due to several types of cell intrinsic injury and DNA aberrant alteration(i.e epigenomic profile)as well as changes in the tissue microenviroment,both into the niche and by systemic circulating ***,it has been suggested that aging-induced deterioration of stem cell functions may play a key role in the pathophysiology of the various agingassociated ***,understanding how resident stem cell age and affects near and distant tissues is ***,we examine the current knowledge about aging mechanisms in several kinds of adult stem cells under physiological and pathological conditions and the principal aging-related changes in number,function and phenotype that determine the loss of tissue renewal ***,we examine the possible cell rejuvenation *** cell rejuvenation may reverse the aging phenotype and the discovery of effective methods for inducing and differentiating pluripotent stem cells for cell replacement therapies could open up new possibilities for treating age-related diseases.

Neurodegenerative diseases represent a growing burden on healthcare systems worldwide. Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) have shown promise as a potential therapy due to their neuroregenerative, neuroprotective, and immunomodulatory properties, which are, however, linked to the bioactive substances they release, collectively known as secretome. This paper provides an overview of the most recent research on the safety and efficacy of MSC-derived secretome and extracellular vesicles (EVs) in clinical (if available) and preclinical models of Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, multiple sclerosis, Huntington’s disease, acute ischemic stroke, and spinal cord injury. The article explores the biologically active substances within MSC-secretome/EVs, the mechanisms responsible for the observed therapeutic effects, and the strategies that may be used to optimize MSC-secretome/EVs production based on specific therapeutic needs. The review concludes with a critical discussion of current clinical trials and a perspective on potential future directions in translating MSC-secretome and EVs into the clinic, specifically regarding how to address the challenges associated with their pharmaceutical manufacturing, including scalability, batch-to-batch consistency, adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) guidelines, formulation, and storage, along with quality controls, access to the market and relative costs, value for money and impact on total expenditure.

This paper presents a decentralized control strategy for the scheduling of electrical energy activities of a microgrid composed of smart homes connected to a distributor and exchanging renewable energy produced by individually owned distributed energy resources. The scheduling problem is stated and solved with the aim of reducing the overall energy supply from the grid, by allowing users to exchange the surplus renewable energy and by optimally planning users' controllable loads. We assume that each smart home can both buy/sell energy from/to the grid taking into account time-varying non-linear pricing signals. Simultaneously, smart homes cooperate and may buy/sell locally harvested renewable energy from/to other smart homes. The resulting optimization problem is formulated as a non-convex non-linear programming problem with a coupling of decision variables in the constraints. The proposed solution is based on a novel heuristic iterative decentralized scheme algorithm that suitably extends the Alternating Direction Method of Multipliers to a non-convex and decentralized setting. We discuss the conditions that guarantee the convergence of the presented algorithm. Finally, the application of the proposed technique to a case study under several scenarios shows its effectiveness.

The atomic coordination structure of single atom catalysts is crucial in modulating the electrocatalytic reduction of CO_(2)into desirable ***,there remains limited insight into their roles and catalytic *** comparison with commonly proposed metal-N4 moieties,herein the atomic bridging structure of nitrogen-tin-oxygen confined in porous carbon fibers is first presented for the selective reduction of CO_(2).With the detailed identification of such a unique structure,the in situ experimental results and theoretical calculations demonstrate that the bridging structure with reactive oxygen species enables the favorable surface electronic status to form adsorbed intermediate,*COOH for selective CO ***,the electrocatalyst displays high Faradaic efficiency in reducing CO_(2)into CO,but formate is produced on traditional Sn-based ***,the solar-driven CO_(2)-H_(2)O system displays a desirable solar-to-CO conversion efficiency of 12.9%.This work provides fundamental guidance for the rational regulation of the atomic coordination structure to improve the production selectivity.

The study of the chiroptical properties of thin-film samples of two chiral benzo[1,2-b:4,5-b’]dithiophene-based oligothiophenes with optoelectronic properties was carried out at Diamond B23 beamline using the synchrotron radiation electronic circular dichroism imaging(SR-ECDi)*** experimental results support the hypothesis that the non-reciprocal circularly polarized absorption observed in these materials is due to the combined linear dichroism and linear birefringence *** mapping at 50-μM spatial resolution revealed that several species coexist in the mesoscopic chiral domains likely due to different aggregated phases,which were identified in the films by SR-ECDi but could not be detected with benchtop ECD instruments.

The magnetic field dependent transport behaviour of Co contacted multi-wall nanotubes is investigated. A sample with three Co electrodes has been measured by two-channel method with an in-plane magnetic field. When the in-plane magnetic field is perpendicular to the tube, high positive magnetoresistance up to 30% is obtained at low temperature from 3 K to 25K and with field parallel to the tube, negative magnetoresistance up to 15% is observed only from the high resistance junction. The detailed positive and negative magnetoresistance behaviour also changes with temperature.

Constrained finite time optimal control problems can be expressed as mathematical programs parameterized by the current state of the system:the so-called multi-parametric *** problems have received a great deal of attention in the control community during the last few years because solving the parametric program is equivalent to synthesizing the optimal state-feedback *** many cases of interest,the resulting synthesized controllers are simple piecewise-affine functions,which enables receding horizon control to be used not only in slowly sampled systems requiring powerful computers but now also in high-speed embedded *** primary limitation of these optimal’explicit solutions’is that the complexity can grow quickly with problem *** this talk I will introduce new methods to compute approximate explicit and online control laws that can trade-off time and space complexity against sub-optimality while providing guarantees of stability and feasibility.

In this paper we study the sequence of Bernstein operators in the case when the binomial coefficients are substituted by general ones satisfying a similar recursive rule. Besides the characterization of the convergence and the approximation properties of the sequence of operators obtained in this manner, the main application regards the approximation of the solutions of suitable second-order parabolic problems.

The n-ary subdivision schemes contrast favorably with their binary analogues because they are capable to produce limit functions with the same (or higher) smoothness but smaller support. We present an algorithm to generate the 4-point n-ary non-stationary scheme for trigonometric, hyperbolic and polynomial case with the parameter for describing curves. The performance, analysis and comparison of the 4-point ternary scheme are also presented.
