This paper presents results of the friction factor of cobble-bed and boulder-bed rivers based on 23 field measurements in three mountainous rivers in *** reveal that features of our measured velocity profiles in boulder-bed rivers in mountainous region do not present a specific shape but illustrate specific pattern in cobble-bed *** difference is attributed to scale effect of relative submergence. It is found that the relative submergence in cobble and boulders-bed rivers is the only key parameter that influences friction factor estimation and other parameters such as particle Froude number and Froude number have few impacts on flow resistance of cobble-bed and boulder-bed *** proposed relationship for estimation for the friction factor should be useful for large coarse-bed rivers.

Trichogramma brassicae(Bezdenko)is an important biological control agent that has been used widely against many lepidopteran ***,colonies of Trichogramma are mass reared on factitious hosts such as Sitotroga cerealella(Olivier)over many *** this study,we evaluated the quality and performance of a colony of *** that had been reared for over 45 generations(G)using two-sex life table parameters and parasitism *** found that female adult longevity was significantly different among sequential generations,ranging from 5.58±2.5 d(at G5)to 3.75±1.42 d(at G45).However,no significant difference was found in male adult longevity among different *** female wasps survived longer until the 15th gener・ation,they allocated more days for egg laying at G5 and *** highest values of gross reproductive rate(GRR),net reproductive rate(7.),intrinsic rate of increase(r),finite rate of increase(λ)and mean generation time(T)were found in G5 and GIO,which also showed significantly higher *** significant difference in the finite parasitism rate(co)was found among generations up to *** results suggest that *** wasps held under continuous laboratory rearing can be used successfully in biological control programs until the 15th generation without any loss of quality or ***,laboratory mass rearing colonies declined in quality after 15 generations and we suggest that they should be rejuvenated regularly by adding field-collected parasitoids periodically.

Since long ago, indirect study of the underground layers properties has been interesting to *** method for this study was seismography which gained great interest besides other tools due to thedifferent identity of waves and energy attraction phenomena in different layers. Vertical seismic profiling(VSP) is considered as a valuable method in oil and gas exploration. This method is used to estimate therock properties in a well. In seismic operations elastic waves are sent down to the underground. Part ofthe waves’ energy is reflected after passing through the earth layers and are received by receivers on theground level. The received data determine the situation of the underneath layers after being processed,and one of the most important applications of seismic data is in the oil and gas exploration field. Qualityfactor is one of the most important seismic detectors that shows itself apparently in VSP data results. Themost substantial purpose of this study is to investigate the frequency content of the quality factor.

An improved method of friction stir processing(FSP)was introduced for the processing of AZ91 magnesium alloy *** novel process was called“friction stir vibration processing(FSVP)”.FSP and FSVP were utilized to develop surface composites on the studied alloy while SiC nanoparticles were applied as second-phase *** effect of reinforcing SiC particles with different sizes(30 and 300 nm)on different characteristics of the composite surface was *** results indicated that the microstructure was refined and mechanical properties such as hardness,ductility,and strength were enhanced as FSVP was ***,it was concluded that the effect of reinforcing particles with a size of 30 nm on the microstructure and mechanical properties of the surface composite was more obvious than that of particles with a size of 300 *** was also found that mechanical properties and microstructure of FSV-processed specimens were improved as vibration frequency *** hardness value in the stir zone was about 157 MPa for the FSV-processed specimen at a vibration frequency of 50 Hz,while this value was around 116 MPa for the FSV-processed specimen at a vibration frequency of 25 Hz.

We report a 43-year-old man who presented with a right painful shoulder mass and bilateral lung masses in computed tomography(CT).Scapular mass was excised and pathology report demonstrated high-grade metastatic *** side lung biopsy and histopathological study characterized tuberculosis but biopsy of the left lung lesion identified adenocarcinoma of the *** final diagnosis was right scapular metastatic lesion from left lung *** symptoms are commonly encountered in lung malignancies due to paraneoplastic syndrome or hematogenous metastasis but scapular metastasis on the other side as the presentation of lung cancer is extremely rare.
