Face mask detection has several applications,including real-time surveillance,biometrics,*** face masks is also helpful for crowd control and ensuring people wear them *** monitoring personnel,it is impossible to ensure that people wear face masks;automated systems are a much superior option for face mask detection and *** paper introduces a simple and efficient approach for masked face *** architecture of the proposed approach is very straightforward;it combines deep learning and local binary patterns to extract features and classify themasmasked or *** proposed systemrequires hardware withminimal power consumption compared to state-of-the-art deep learning *** proposed system maintains two *** first,this work extracted the local features of an image by using a local binary pattern descriptor,and then we used deep learning to extract global *** proposed approach has achieved excellent accuracy and high *** performance of the proposed method was tested on three benchmark datasets:the realworld masked faces dataset(rMFD),the simulated masked faces dataset(SMFD),and labeled faces in the wild(LFW).Performancemetrics for the proposed technique weremeasured in terms of accuracy,precision,recall,and *** indicated the efficiency of the proposed technique,providing accuracies of 99.86%,99.98%,and 100%for rMFD,SMFD,and LFW,***,the proposed method outperformed state-of-the-art deep learning methods in the recent bibliography for the same problem under study and on the same evaluation datasets.

Efficient Channel Estimation Techniques for MIMO Systems with 1-Bit ADC

With a low resolution 1-bit ADC on its receiver(rX) side, MIMO with 1-bit ADC took a considerable step in the fulfillment of the hardware complexity constrains of the internet of things(IoT) PHY layer design. However, applying 1-bit ADC at MIMO rX results in severe nonlinear quantization error. By which, almost all received signal amplitude information is completely distorted. Thus, MIMO channel estimation is considered as a major barrier towards practical realization of 1-bit ADC MIMO system. In this paper, two efficient sparsity-based channel estimation techniques are proposed for 1-bit ADC MIMO systems, namely the low complexity sparsity-based channel estimation(LCSCE), and the iterative adaptive sparsity channel estimation(IASCE). In these techniques, the sparsity of the 1-bit ADC MIMO channel is exploited to propose a new adaptive and iterative compressive sensing(CS) recovery algorithm to handle the 1-bit ADC quantization effect. The proposed algorithms are tested with the state-of-the-art 1-bit ADC MIMO constant envelope modulation(MIMO-CEM). The 1-bit ADC MIMO-CEM system is chosen as it fulfills both energy and hardware complexity constraints of the IoT PHY layer. Simulation results reveal the high effectiveness of the proposed algorithms in terms of spectral efficiency(SE) and computational complexity. The proposed LCSCE reduces the computational complexity of the 1-bit ADC MIMO-CEM channel estimation by 86%, while the IASCE reduces it by 96% compared to the recent techniques of MIMO-CEM channel estimation. Moreover, the proposed LCSCE and IASCE improve the spectrum efficiency by 76 % and 73 %, respectively, compared to the recent techniques.

In the present work,an incompressible smoothed particle hydrodynamic(SPH)method is introduced to simulate water-soil-structure *** the current calculation,the water is modelled as a Newtonian *** soil is modelled in two different *** the first case,the granular material is considered as a fluid where a Bingham type constitutive model is proposed based on Mohr-Coulomb yield-stress criterion,and the viscosity is derived from the cohesion and friction *** addition,the fictitious suspension layers between water and soil depending on the concentration of soil are *** the second case,Hooke’s law introduces elastic *** ISPH,the pressure is evaluated by solving the pressure Poisson equation using a semi-implicit algorithm based on the projection method and an eddy viscosity for water is modelled by a large eddy simulation with the Smagorinsky *** the proposed ISPH method,the pressure is stabilized to simulate the multiphase flow between soil and *** experiments for water-soil suspension flow of Louvain erosional dam break with flat soil foundation,is simulated and validated using 3D-ISPH *** between water-soil interactions with different solid structures are *** results revealed that,the suspension layers with the Bingham model of soil gives more accurate results in the experiment as compared to the case of the Bingham model without suspension *** addition,the elastic soil model by the Hooke’s law can simulate soil hump accurately as compared to the Bingham *** the simulations,avoiding erosion behind the structure for preventing the structure break during flood are investigated by using an extended structure or a wedge structure.

Dietary effects of A zolla pinnata combined with exogenous digestive enzyme(Digestin^(TM)) on growth and nutrients utilization of freshwater prawn, Macrobrachium rosenbergii(de Man 1879)

The present study was conducted to evaluate the effect of either individual or combined wheat bran(WB) replacement with Azolla pinnata supplemented with Digestin^(TM) in the diet of freshwater prawn, Macrobrachium rosenbergii Postlarvae(PL) on growth performance, nutrient utilization, chemical body composition and survival(%). Experimental diets were a wheat bran-soybean based diet with no Azolla and Digestin^(TM)(control, T_1), and diets containing 17% Azolla supplemented with Digestin^(TM) 0%(T_2), 1%(T_3), 2%(T_4) and 3%(T 5). Each experimental diet was allocated into three tanks(6 m^3/tank) fed for 12 wks. Each tank was subdivided into three equal pens by nets(2 m^3) and stoked with 84 PL/m^2. The experimental diets were readily consumed by prawns PLs where both high growth and good feed efficiency were achieved for all diets. The results showed that the diets containing A. pinnata supplemented with Digestin? at the level up to 3% have the higher growth and better nutrient utilization than the control diet. No differences were observed for moisture and protein content among the experimental diets. However, the highest protein content was observed on prawns fed on diets T_1 and T 5 respectively, while the lowest value was recorded for T_4 diet. The results also show that prawn PLs fed the diets contain A. pinnata and supplemented with Digestin^(TM) recorded the highest values of body lipid content compared to the control diet. Feed efficiency and economic conversion rate(ECr) values show that economic performance and the cost-effectiveness of the A. pinnata supplemented with up to 3% Digestin^(TM) recorded the highest net return, and therefore it is recommended for prawn, M. rosenbergii PL's. These results are clearly indicating that A. pinnata have a good potential for use in prawn diets at reasonable levels than other conventional diets.

Outcomes of pancreaticoduodenectomy in elderly patients

BACKGrOUND： Although the mortality and morbidity of pancreaticoduodenectomy（PD） have improved significantly over the past years, the concerns for elderly patients undergoing PD are still present. Furthermore, the frequency of PD is increasing because of the increasing proportion of elderly patients and the increasing incidence of periampullary tumors. This study aimed to analyze the outcomes of PD in elderly ***： We studied all patients who had undergone PD in our center between January 1995 and February 2015. The patients were divided into three groups based on age： group I（patients aged 〈60 years）, group II（those aged 60 to 69 years） and group III（those aged ≥70 years）. The primary outcome was the rate of total postoperative complications. Secondary endpoint included total operative time, hospital mortality, length of postoperative hospital stay, delayed gastric emptying, re-exploration, and survival ***： A total of 828 patients who had undergone PD for resection of periampullary tumor were included in this study. There were 579（69.9%） patients in group I, 201（24.3%） in group II, and 48（5.8%） in group III. The overall incidence of complications was higher in elderly patients（25.9% in group I, 36.8% in group II, and 37.5% in group III; P=0.006）. There were more patients complicated with delayed gastric emptying in group II compared with the other two groups. There was no significant difference in the incidence of postoperative pancreatic fistula, biliary leakage, pancreatitis, pulmonary complications and hospital ***： PD can be performed safely in selected elderly patients. Advanced age alone should not be a contraindication for PD. The outcome of elderly patients who have undergone PD is similar to that of younger patients, and the increased rate of complications is due to the presence of associated comorbidities.

Nanofluid Flows Within Porous Enclosures Using Non-Linear Boussinesq Approximation

In this paper,the Galerkin finite element method(FEM)together with the characteristic-based split(CBS)scheme are applied to study the case of the non-linear Boussinesq approximation within sinusoidal heating inclined enclosures filled with a non-Darcy porous media and *** enclosure has an inclination angle and its side-walls have varying sinusoidal temperature *** working fluid is a nanofluid that is consisting of water as a based nanofluid and Al2O3 as *** porous medium is modeled using the Brinkman Forchheimer extended Darcy *** obtained results are analyzed over wide ranges of the non-linear Boussinesq parameter 0≤ζ≤1,the phase deviation 00≤Φ≤1800,the inclination angle 00≤γ≤900,the nanoparticles volume fraction 0%≤φ≤4%,the amplitude ratio 0≤a≤1 and the rayleigh number 104≤ra≤*** results revealed that the average Nusselt number is enhanced by 0.73%,26.46%and 35.42%at ra=104,105 and 106,respectively,when the non-linearBoussinesq parameter is varied from 0 to *** addition,rate of heat transfer in the case of a non-uniformly heating is higher than that of a uniformly ***-linear Boussinesq parameter rises the flow speed and heat transfer in an *** deviation makes clear changes on the isotherms and heat transfer rate on the right wall of an *** inclination angle varies the flow speed and it has a slight effect on heat transfer in an enclosure.

Assessment of fibroblast growth factor 19 as a non-invasive serum marker for hepatocellular carcinoma

BACKGrOUND Fibroblast growth factor 19(FGF-19)is one of the founding members of the endocrine FGF ***,it has been the subject of much interest owing to its role in various physiological processes affecting glucose and lipid metabolism and the regulation of bile acid secretion as well as cell proliferation,differentiation,and ***,FGF-19 secretion in an autocrine style has reportedly contributed to cancer progression in various types of malignancies including hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC).AIM To estimate the serum FGF-19 concentrations in HCC cases and assess its diagnostic performance for the detection of *** We recruited 90 adult participants and divided them into three equal groups:Healthy controls,cirrhosis patients,and HCC *** FGF-19 concentrations were measured using the Human FGF-19 ELISA *** We detected a high statistically significant difference in serum FGF-19 levels among the three *** highest level was observed in the HCC group,followed by the cirrhosis and control groups(236.44±40.94 vs 125.63±31.54 vs 69.60±20.90 pg/mL,respectively,P≤0.001).FGF-19 was positively correlated with alpha fetoprotein(AFP;r=0.383,P=0.003)and international normalised ratio(r=0.357,P=0.005),while it was negatively correlated with albumin(r=-0.500,P≤0.001).For the detection of HCC,receiver operating characteristic curve analysis showed that the best cut-off point of AFP was>8.2 ng/mL with an area under the curve(AUC)of 0.78,sensitivity of 63.33%,specificity of 83.33%,positive predictive value(PPV)of 79.2%,negative predictive value(NPV)of 69.4%,and total accuracy of 78%.However,FGF-19 at a cut-off point>180 pg/mL had an AUC of 0.98,sensitivity of 100%,specificity of 90.0%,PPV of 90.0%,NPV of 100%,and total accuracy of 98%.CONCLUSION FGF-19 represents a possible novel non-invasive marker for *** may improve the prognosis of HCC patients due to its utility in several aspects of HCC detection and management.
