w.th the technology development on detecting circulating tumor cells(CTCs) and cellfree DNAs(cf DNAs) in b.ood, serum, and plasma, non-invasive diagnosis of cancer b.comes promising. A few.studies reported good correlations b.tw.en signals from tumor tissues and CTCs or cf DNAs, making it possib.e to detect cancers using CTCs and cf DNAs. How.ver, the detection cannot tell w.ich cancer types the person has. To meet these challenges, w. developed an algorithm,e Tumor Type, to identify cancer types b.sed on copy numb.r variations(CNVs) of the cancer founding clone. e Tumor Type integrates cancer hallmark concepts and a few.computational techniques such as stochastic gradient b.osting, voting, centroid, and leading patterns. e Tumor Type has b.en trained and validated on a large dataset including 18 common cancer types and 5327 tumor samples. e Tumor Type produced high accuracies(0.86–0.96) and high recall rates(0.79–0.92) for predicting colon, b.ain, prostate, and kidney cancers. In addition, relatively high accuracies(0.78–0.92)and recall rates(0.58–0.95) have also b.en achieved for predicting ovarian, b.east luminal, lung, endometrial, stomach, head and neck, leukemia, and skin cancers. These results suggest that e Tumor Type could b. used for non-invasive diagnosis to determine cancer types b.sed on CNVs of CTCs and cf DNAs.

目的验证跨理论模型与社会支持理论相结合在社区医生干预2型糖尿病患者饮食行为中的应用效果。方法本研究为整群社区干预试验,对照组进行常规管理;直接支持组由社区医生对患者进行医生主导的饮食干预;间接支持组则进行医患协商的饮食干预;同时为两干预组发放了控量餐具和食物图卡。根据跨理论模型自行设计调查问卷,在基线、3个月、6个月时进行调查。结果在3个月和6个月时,直接支持组和间接支持组整体对糖尿病饮食益处的认知和饮食相关自我效能水平呈上升趋势,而感知到实施糖尿病饮食的障碍呈下降趋势,但只有3个月时,两干预组[直接支持组得分(13.72±2.04)分;间接支持组得分13.88±1.85]与对照组[得分(12.92±2.30)分]在益处认知水平上的差异有统计学意义(P<0.001)。广义估计方程结果显示,女性、文化程度较高、知觉饮食障碍较低、饮食自我效能较高、直接支持组在6个月时,所处行为阶段更高。结论社区医生基于跨理论模型来对患者的饮食行为进行的干预,可以促进患者的决策平衡发生积极变化,并可促进患者饮食行为阶段前进,直接支持可能对患者的饮食改变帮助更大。

To date, the cost-effective utilization of solar energy b. photovoltaics for large-scale deployment remains challenging. Further cost minimization and efficiency maximization, through reduction of material consumption, simplification of device fab.ication as w.ll as optimization of device structure and geometry, are required. The usage of 1D nanomaterials is attractive due to the outstanding light coupling effect, the ease of fab.ication, and integration w.th one-dimensional(1-D) semiconductor materials. The light ab.orption efficiency can b. enhanced significantly, and the corresponding light-toelectricity conversion efficiency can b. as high as their b.lk counterparts. Also, the amount of active materials used can b. reduced. This review.summarizes the recent development of 1-D nanomaterials for photovoltaic applications, including the anti-reflection, the light ab.orption,the minority diffusion, and the semiconductor junction properties. w.th solid progress and prospect show. in the past 10 years, 1-D semiconductor nanomaterials are attractive and promising for the realization of high-efficiency and low.cost solar cells.

Mutated genes are rarely common even in the same pathological type b.tw.en cancer patients and as such, it has b.en very challenging to interpret genome sequencing data and difficult to predict clinical outcomes. PIK3 CA is one of a few.genes w.ose mutations are relatively popular in tumors. For example, more than 46.6% of luminal-A b.east cancer samples have PIK3 CA mutated, w.ereas only 35.5% of all b.east cancer samples contain PIK3 CA mutations. To understand the function of PIK3 CA mutations in luminal A b.east cancer, w. applied our recentlyproposed Cancer Hallmark Netw.rk Framew.rk to investigate the netw.rk motifs in the PIK3CA-mutated luminal A tumors. w. found that more than 70% of the PIK3CA-mutated luminal A tumors contain a positive regulatory loop w.ere a master regulator(PDGF-D), a second regulator(FLT1) and an output node(SHC1) w.rk together. Importantly, w. found the luminal A b.east cancer patients harb.ring the PIK3 CA mutation and this positive regulatory loop in their tumors have significantly longer survival than those harb.ring PIK3 CA mutation only in their tumors. These findings suggest that the underlying molecular mechanism of PIK3 CA mutations in luminal A patients can participate in a positive regulatory loop, and furthermore the positive regulatory loop(PDGF-D/FLT1/SHC1) has a predictive pow.r for the survival of the PIK3 CAmutated luminal A patients.

Ob.ectives:This study aims to develop the Directive and Nondirective Support Scale for Patients w.th Type 2 Diab.tes(DNSS-T2DM)to measure diab.tes-specific support and patients’preference as w.ll as evaluate the construct validity and reliab.lity of the ***:A cross-sectional study w.s conducted in Tongzhou District,b.ijing,China from July to Septemb.r 2015.A total of 474 participants w.o had b.en diagnosed as type 2 diab.tes b. physicians and completed the DNSS-T2DM w.re *** original 11-item DNSS-T2DM contains five items on nondirective support(Items 1-5)and six items on directive support(Items 6-11).There w.re tw. parallel questions for each item w.th one to measure the preference for support(Preference part)and the other to measure the perception of support in reality(Reality part).The final DNSS-T2DM w.s determined b.sed on the results of the exploratory factor analysis(EFA).The construct validity of the final DNSS-T2DM w.s evaluated b. the confirmatory factor analysis(CFA).The reliab.lity w.s evaluated b. internal consistency w.th Cronb.ch’sα***:A final 7-item DNSS-T2DM loaded on 2 factors w.th four items representing nondirective support and three items representing directive support w.s determined b.sed on the *** CFA indicated a satisfactory construct *** internal consistency of the 7-item DNSS-T2DM as w.ll as the nondirective support items w.s satisfactory w.th Cronb.ch’sα≥***:Our study supported the validity and reliab.lity of the 7-item *** studies on the application of the DNSS-T2DM in different settings and population are needed.

Hypothetical mode of action of earthw.rm extract w.th hepatoprotective and antioxidant properties

The hepatoprotective potential of earthw.rm extract (EE) (Lampito mauritii, Kinb.rg) w.s evaluated against paracetamol-induced liver injury in w.star alb.no rat, in comparison w.th silymarin, the standard hepatoprotective drug. w. ob.erved a reduction in liver antioxidants, such as glutathione (GSH), superoxide dismutase (SOD), glutathione peroxidase (GPx), and catalase (CAT) and in serum total protein, and an increase in serum alkaline phosphatase (ALP), serum aspertate aminotranferase (AST), serum alanine aminotranferase (ALT), b.lirub.n and liver thiob.rb.turic acid reactive sub.tances (Tb.RS) due to liver injury in the paracetamol-administered rats (2 g/kg). On the contrary, increased activities of liver GSH, SOD, GPx, CAT and serum total protein level, and decrease in the contents of serum ALP, AST, ALT, b.lirub.n and liver Tb.RS w.re ob.erved in rats administered w.th different doses of EE (100, 200 and 300 mg/kg), w.ich are similar to the activities of hepato-protective drug silymarin (150 mg/kg). The mode of action of EE as evidenced b. the ab.ve parameters may suggest that EE, on the one hand, prevents the formation of the reactive oxygen groups, or scavenges these groups, thereb. preventing the damage on the hepatic cells, and, on the other hand, modulates the genes responsib.e for synthesis of antioxidant enzymes such as GPx, CAT and SOD in liver tissue and decreases the serum enzymatic activities such as ALP, AST and ALT.
