Humoral response to Toxoplasma gondii in Pregnant Women in Bangui Central African republic

Toxoplasmosis is a cosmopolitan antrhropozoonosis widespread in mammals and birds. Normally asymptomatic in the subject health, it can have serious consequences for the fetus in the first trimester of pregnancy in the pregnant woman. It is in this context that we propose to assess the immune response to T. gondii in pregnant women in Bangui. This was a retrospective analytical study that consulted the records of pregnant women received in prenatal consultations at the Bangui Community Hospital Maternity ward from January 2019 to December 2019. Socio-demographic and laboratory data (IgM, IgG response to T. gondii) and results of HIV serology were collected from January to June 2021. Chi2 test was used. A total of 307 pregnant women were analyzed. The average age of the women included was 28 (±6) years. The average parity of the entire sample was 2.18 (±1.93). Toxoplasmosis infectious was 14.65%. Women with a positive IgM response accounted for 17.58% and those with an IgG-positive response for 42.99%. Patients with a positive HIV were 5.86%. Patients aged 20 - 29 had a serological profile suggesting a probable ongoing infection (p = 0.010). The paucipares were more represented with no statistically significant difference (p = 0.23). Pregnant women were not significantly exposed to toxoplasmosis infectious (p = 0.96). Immunized and non-immunized subjects were similarly exposed [Or = 0.97;CI 95% 0.4 = 6 - 2.05]. Toxoplasmosis remains particularly serious during pregnancy. Seroprevalence was significantly higher in the 20 - 24 year age group. Women were similarly exposed depending on whether they were immunized or not. This requires the establishment of a specific prevention program against this disease.

Sero-positivity rates of the rubella virus among pregnant women vary from country to country widely throughout the world. In the Central African republic, rubella vaccination is not included in the national immunization schedule. Thus, we propose to evaluate the immune status of pregnant women. This was an analytical retrospective study that consulted the records of pregnant women received in prenatal consultations at the Bangui Community Hospital maternity ward from January to December 2020. Socio-demographic and laboratory data (IgM, IgG) were collected from January to June 2021. Chi2 test was used. A total of 289 pregnant women were analyzed. Women with an IgM+ response accounted for 4.15%. Those with an IgG+ were 14.87%. The distribution by age group shows that patients aged 20 - 24 and those aged 25 - 29 had a rubella profile suggesting persistent infection (p = 0.010). The average age of women included was 28 (±6) years. The average parity for the entire sample was 2.18 (1.93). At any age pregnant women were not significantly exposed to rubella infection (p = 0.96), (Orbrut = 1.03;CI95% = [0.32 - 3.34]). Both immunized and non-immunized individuals are similarly exposed [Or = 0.86;95% IC95% = 0.44 - 1.68] with no difference (p = 0.96). rubella infection remains particularly severe when it occurs during pregnancy. It would be wise to seek immunity in all girls of childbearing age in order to rule out any risk of rubella embryopathy.

This paper describes severe plastic deformation(SPD)procedures,which are utilized to form an ultrafine-grained structure in metallic *** the SPD process,a solid material sample is subjected to very high loads without a significant change in sample *** the present work,the high-pressure torsion(HPT)process,as one of the SPD techniques,which achieves a high degree of deformation and ensures refinement of the microstructure,will be discussed in more *** that grain size control is accepted as a method to obtain materials with desired characteristics,an overview of the properties of ultrafine-grained titanium-based biomaterials to be used in medicine is ***,particular attention is dedicated to the influences of HPT process parameters,primarily hydrostatic pressure,and number of revolutions during torsion,on the grain size and physical and mechanical characteristics(modulus of elasticity,microhardness,and tensile properties),corrosion resistance,and biocompatibility of the titanium-based biomaterials.A review of the literature indicates that titanium-based materials obtained by the SPD process show improved mechanical and physical properties without losing biocompatibility and corrosion resistance,which suggests that these methods of obtaining implants are something that should be further developed in the future.

Climate change affects air temperature, sea levels as well as the soil and its ecosystem. The Guinea Savannah and Semi-deciduous Forest zones of Ghana are characterized by different climatic conditions and vegetative cover. Annual average temperature has been steadily increasing whilst annual total rainfall has been decreasing in both zones, and this has been causing a southward shift of the Savannah into the Forest zone. Soil organisms provide crucial ecosystem services which are required for sustainable agriculture and food production yet crop cultivation disturbs the soil ecosystem. The harsh conditions associated with the Savannah further expose the soil ecosystem to disturbance and loss of biodiversity which threatens food production and security. Soil nematodes are the most abundant animals in the soil and play a central and critical role in the soil food web complex. Studying the nematode community structure gives a reflection of the status of the entire soil ecosystem. Soil samples were taken from cultivated and natural landscapes in the Guinea Savannah and Semi-deciduous Forest agroecological zones to analyse the nematode community. results from the study showed the Guinea Savannah zone recording warmer soil temperatures, lower organic matter percentage and lower nematode diversity(Genus richness) as compared to the Semi-deciduous Forest zone. If the Savannah continues to shift southward, the Forest zone soil ecosystem risks disturbance and loss of biodiversity due to the harsh Savannah conditions. Our findings indicate that prevailing crop cultivation practices also disturb soil ecosystem in the two ecological zones which span across West Africa. A disturbed soil ecosystem endangers the future of food production and food security.

An amber-bearing lignitic layer of sandy clay from the Lower Cretaceous of Central Lebanon （Mderej-Hammana）yielded a well-preserved,moderately variegated palynoflora,which origin is mixed between land plants and marine *** detailed analysis led to fulfill its inventory,to propose a paleoenvironmental reconstruction,and to draw the paleoclimate which prevailed over the region：an estuarian area under a rather humid,temperate climate;a variety of ferns grew near the shore-side and in the inward land.A tiny piece of amber containing angiospermous pollen grains of stratigraphical interest allows a precise *** marine microflora,poorly diversified,includes chitinous foraminifer linings and dinoflagellate cysts,among which Early Aptian guide taxa are present;their occurrence slightly narrows the stratigraphical range indicated by some palynological taxa which are related to land plants.

We investigate the dynamics of entanglement through negativity and witness operators in a system of four noninteracting qubits driven by a classical phase noisy laser characterized by a classical random external field(CrEF).The qubits are initially prepared in the GHZ-type and W-type states and interact with the CrEF in two different qubit-field configurations,namely,common environment and independent environments in which the cases of equal and different field phase probabilities are *** find that entanglement exhibits different decaying behavior,depending on the input states of the qubits,the qubit-field coupling configuration,and field phase *** the one hand,we demonstrate that the coupling of the qubits in a common environment is an alternative and more efficient strategy to completely shield the system from the detrimental impacts of the decoherence process induced by a CrEF,independent of the input state and the field phase probabilities ***,we show that GHZ-type states have strong dynamics under CrEF as compared to W-type *** the other hand,we demonstrate that in the model investigated the system robustness’s can be greatly improved by increasing the number of qubits constituting the system.
