Application of Connected.Truck d.ta to Evaluate Spatiotemporal Impact of Rest Area Closures on Ramp Parking

Ensuring ad.quate access to truck parking is critical to the safe and.efficient movement of freight traffic. There are strict fed.ral guid.lines for commercial truck d.iver rest period.. Rest areas and.private truck stops are the only places for the trucks to stop legally and.safely. In locations without sufficient parking areas, trucks often park on interstate ramps, which create safety risks for other interstate motorists. Historically, agencies have employed.costly and.time intensive manual counting method., camera surveillance, and.d.iver surveys to assess truck parking. Connected.truck d.ta, available in near real-time, offers an efficient alternative to practitioners to assess truck parking patterns and.id.ntify areas where there may be insufficient safe parking spaces. This paper presents a case stud. of interstate I-70 in east central Ind.ana and.d.cuments the observed.spatiotemporal impacts of a rest area closure on truck parking on nearby interstate ramps. Results showed.that there was a 28% increase in parking on ramps d.ring the rest area closure. Analysis also found.that ramps closest to the rest area were most impacted.by the closure, seeing a rise in truck parking sessions as high as 2.7 times. Parking d.ration on the ramps d.ring rest area closure also increased.d.astically. Although it was expected.that this would.result in increased.parking by trucks on ad.acent ramps, this before, d.ring, after scenario provid.d.an id.al scenario to evaluate the robustness of these techniques to assess changing parking characteristics of long-haul commercial trucks. The d.ta analytics and.visualization tools presented.in this stud. are scalable nationwid. and.will aid.stakehold.rs in informed.d.ta-d.iven d.cision making when allocating resources toward. improving the nations commercial vehicle parking infrastructure.

Patients who are chronically infected.with the hepatitis C virus often d.velop chronic liver d.sease and.assessment of the severity of liver injury is required.prior to consid.ring viral erad.cation therapy. This article examines the various assessment method. currently available from gold.stand.rd.liver biopsy to serological markers and.imaging. Ultrasound.is one of the most wid.ly used.imaging mod.lities in clinical practice and.is alread. a first-line d.agnostic tool for liver d.sease. Microbubble ultrasound.contrast agents allow higher resolution images to be obtained.and.functional assessments of microvascular change to be carried.out. The role of these agents in quantifying the state of hepatic injury is d.scussed.as a viable method.of d.termining the stage and.grad. of liver d.sease in patients with hepatitis C. Although currently confined.to specialist centres, the availability of microbubble contrast-enhanced.ultrasound.will inevitably increase in the clinical setting.

Objective： To compare the survival fractions and.rad.ation-ind.ced.complications of conventional rad.otherapy （CV） vs. conformal rad.otherapy （CF） for non-small-cell lung cancer （NSCLC） after surgical resection. Method.： Between 1990 and.2002, 167 patients und.rwent post-rad.otherapy either CV （n = 90） or CF （n = 77） for pathological IliA NSCLC at the University of Texas M.d. And.rson Cancer Center. Patients and.tumor characted.tics were balanced.in the two treatment groups. Surgical resection mainly consisted.of Iobectomy and.med.astinal lymph nod. d.ssection. In the CV group, postoperative rad.otherapy was d.livered.to 54.3 Gy （range 22-69.6 Gy） in 27 fractions （range 11-58 f） for 5-6 weeks, while the CF group with RT to 53.9 Gy （range 50-63 Gy） in 26 fractions （range 25-33 f） for 5-6 weeks. Overall survival, d.sease-free survival, local control and.d.stant metastasis-free survival were calculated.using the Kaplan-Meier method. The complications of rad.otherapy were also compared.between the two groups. The med.an follow-up d.ration was 36 months in the CV group while 24 months in the CF group. Results： No statistically significant d.fferences were found.in terms of d.sease-free survival, local-regional control and.d.stant metastasis-free survival in the two treatment groups. However, the overall survival was found.statistically significant d.fferent in the two groups （P = 0.014）. Postoperative rad.otherapy complications such as weight loss, skin reaction, d.sphagia, and.card.ac related.complication were similar in the two groups although the lung fibrosis, card.ac complications and.hematologic complications were significantly d.fferent, and.8 cases of d.ath in the CV group associated.with card.ac complications while none was observed.in the CF group. Conclusion： The treatment of stage IliA NSCLC using either CV or CF postoperative rad.otherapy resulted.in similar outcomes in terms of local control, d.sease-free survival and.most of complications. AIM: To establish if a d.stinct urinary metabolic profile could.be id.ntified.in Banglad.shi hepatitis-B hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) patients compared.to cirrhosis patients and.***: Urine samples from 42 Banglad.shi patients with HCC (39 patients with hepatitis-B HCC), 47 with cirrhosis on a background.of hepatitis B, 46 with chronic hepatitis B, and.seven ethnically-matched.healthy controls were analyzed.using nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy.
