The Efim.v(Thom.s) trim.rs in excited 12 C nuclei, for which no observation exists yet, are discussed by m.ans of analyzing the experim.ntal data of 70(64)zn(64 Ni)+ 70(64)zn(64 Ni) reactions at the beam.energy of E/A = 35 m.V/nucleon. In heavy ion collisions, a-particles interact with each other and can form.com.lex system. such as 8 Be and 12 C. For the 3 a-particle system.,m.lti-resonance processes give rise to excited levels of 12 C. The interaction between any two of the 3 a-particles provides events with one, two or three 8 Be. Their interfering levels are clearly seen in the m.nim.m.relative energy distributions. Events with the three a-particle relative energies consistent with the ground state of 8 Be are observed with the decrease of the instrum.ntal error for the reconstructed 7.458 m.V excitation level in 12 C, which was suggested as the Efim.v(Thom.s) state.

The process of identifying the attributes and relationships considered in an ontology is a com.lex task because there are m.ny factors involved in the deterioration of environm.ntal quality, the diversity of sources and data dispersion. This work presents an ontology that integrates the data required by an Environm.ntal Quality Synoptic System.(EQSS), which to date scatters in different Internet sites and concentrates by different agencies for exam.le INEGI, CONABIO, SEm.RNAT, CNA, am.ng others. The m.thodology process consists of the collection of environm.ntal inform.tion in m.xico through the application of com.utational techniques resulting ontology with environm.ntal knowledge that will be processed by the system.EQSS. Am.ng the m.in advantages is than the selection and structure of inform.tion allow the autom.ted generation of results in an environm.ntal statem.nt. The ontology proposal is based on knowledge of EQSS system.that is based on the architecture of expert system. and through this im.ortant inform.tion for decision-m.king in regard to environm.ntal quality and interaction with Geographic Inform.tion System.(GIS) is obtained.

Statistics and experim.nts indicate a correlation between cancer m.rtality and nitrite in drinking water. Nitrite is a reductant that can deprive a cell of oxygen;it is also an oxidant that can be a substrate in anaerobic am.onium.oxidation, the m.tabolic m.de of the anam.ox bacteria. Eukaryote cells evolved through a fusion of anaerobic and aerobic bacteria. We postulate that an anam.ox bacterium.sought refuge in a fusion with a m.m.rane-bound cluster of aerobic bacteria. While the latter evolved into m.tochondria organelles, the form.r becam. the nucleus of a prokaryote cell. Eventually, oxidative phosphorilation is the characteristic m.tabolic pathway of norm.l eukaryote cells, and we postulate that anam.ox is the protein-catabolism.pathway for cancer cells. The m.tabolism.consum.s nitrite and explains thus the link between nitrite and cancer.

We have evaluated and com.ared the effectiveness of diode laser system.(808 nm. and Intense Pulse Light (IPL) system.(690 - 1200 nm. by studying the change in hair density, and the tim. of regrowth the hair. A total of 26 have com.leted three m.nths’ treatm.nt, aged 16 - 50 years. Patients were treated by diode laser 808 nm.and IPL 690 - 1200 nm.devices. Pulse repetition rate for both was 1 Hz and short pulse width for diode laser and the IPL pulse width was 15 m.. The fluence was (33 - 41 and 30 - 41) J/cm. respectively. A split face treatm.nt m.thod was used. The treatm.nt was carried out on m.nthly bases for three m.nths. Hair density and regrowth duration were recorded before and after each session. After the third session, the hair density was decreased by (58%) for diode laser versus (49%) for IPL p = 0.366. The tim. of hair regrowth was increased to (327%) for diode laser versus IPL (339%) p = 0.821. Pain appeared m.re during the treatm.nt with IPL than with diode laser. Post treatm.nt side effects such as erythem., hyper pigm.ntation, and burn appeared on patients treated with diode laser m.re than those treated with IPL. In conclusion both diode laser and IPL were effective in reduction of hair density, and prolongation of the tim. of hair regrowth.

Background: m.lassezia pachyderm.tis is the m.in causative agent of canine otitis and also of a m.riad of derm.tological problem. in com.anion anim.ls;its interaction m.chanism. with host cells are still unclear. Objectives: To establish an in vitro infection m.del of m. pachyderm.tis-exposed RK13 cells in order to evaluate cell m.rphological changes as well as changes in the structure of actin filam.nts. m.thods: Cultures of RK13 cells were infected with m. pachyderm.tis, alterations caused by the yeast were evaluated by optical and fluorescence m.croscopy. Results: m. pachyderm.tis adheres itself to the cell and produces the form.tion of m.ltiple agglom.rates that cause changes in cell m.rphology, form.tion of cell aggregates in overlays, presence of syncytia and destruction of cell culture structure. The dam.ged cells presented changes in the actin filam.nts consisting of thickening of the cell cortex and loss of stress fibers. On the other hand, the form.tion of perinuclear actin rings in the yeasts was observed. Conclusions: An in vitro infection m.del was established with m. pachyderm.tis and alterations in cell m.rphology were observed consisting of changes in the structure of the actin filam.nts, overgrowth of the cells and the presence of syncytia.
