This paper proposes h∞controller design for platform position transfer and regulation of floating offshore wind *** platform movability of floating wind turbines can be utilized in mitigating the wake effect in the wind farm,thereby maximizing the wind farm's total power capture and *** controller is designed so that aerodynamic force is adjusted to meet the three objectives simultaneously,that is,1)to generate the desired electrical power level,2)to achieve the desired platform position,and 3)to suppress the platform *** acquire sufficient aerodynamic force to move the heavy platform,the pitch-to-stall blade pitching strategy is taken instead of the commonly-used pitch-to-feather *** desired power level is attained by the standard constant-power strategy for the generator torque,while hstate-feedback control of blade pitch and nacelle yaw angles is adopted for the position regulation and platform oscillation *** constants for the h∞controller design are adjusted to take the trade-off between the position regulation accuracy and the platform motion *** demonstrate the efficiency of the proposed controler,a virtual 5-MW semi-submersible wind turbine is *** results show that the designed h∞controller successfully accomplishes the platform position transfer and regulation as well as the platform oscillation reduction against wind and wave disturbances,and that it outperforms a previously-proposed linear quadratic controller with an integrator.

Cells depend on the homeostatic maintenance of phwithin specific cellular compartments to ensure optimalconditions for metabolic and enzymatic processes as wellas protein structure and function. In the animal secre-tory pathway, cells maintain distinct luminal phs withinvarious compartments （Paroutis et al., 2004）. Among themany molecular players that contribute to ph and ionhomeostasis in plants, Na＋（K＋）/h＋ exchangers （also knownas NhX-type cation/h＋ antiporters） appear to be particu-larly important for the regulation of a wide variety ofphysiological processes, including cell expansion, cellvolume regulation, osmotic adjustment, ph regulation,membrane trafficking, protein processing, and cellularstress responses （Pardo et al., 2006; Rodriguez-Rosaleset al., 2009; Bassil et al., 2012）. In plants, NhX antiportersappeared early in evolution and are ubiquitously encodedmembers of the CPA1 cation/h＋ antiporters subgroupthat belongs to the large family of monovalent cation/h＋ transporters CPA （Brett et al., 2005）. NhX antiport-ers are found, thus far, in all sequenced plant genomes（Bassil et al., 2012; Chanroj et al., 2012）. In Arabidopsis,the NhX family consists of eight isoforms, six of whichare intracellular （AtNhXl-AtNhX6）, located either to thevacuole （AtNhXl to AtNhX4） or endosomes （AtNhX5 andAtNhX6） and an additional two more divergent members（AtNhX7/SOSl and AtNhX8） at the plasma membrane（Bassil et al., 2012）. Orthologous sequences in each of thethree classes （plasma membrane, vacuolar, or endosomal）appear in all sequenced genomes, suggesting that distinctfunctional NhX classes appeared early in evolution andmay have conserved roles that are compartment-specific（Bassil et al., 2012）. The effects of a harmonically exciting monopole source on an infinitely long cylindrical cavity embedded entirely within a fluid-saturated poroelastic formation of infinite extent are examined theoretically. It is assumed that the source is located outside the cavity at a specified distance from the borehole axis. The magnitudes of the hoop and radial stresses beside the pore pressures exerted on the interface and inside the porous medium surrounding the borehole are calculated and discussed. Biot's poroelastic modeling along with three types of boundary conditions for the cylindrical interface including the ideal fluid, empty borehole, and rigid inclusion with a hard boundary is employed for the analysis. Utilizing a proper translational addition theorem for expressing the incident spherical wave in terms of cylindrical wave expansions, the proposed boundary conditions at the interface are satisfied. Stresses are formulated by means of wave potential functions in a three-dimensional(3D) manner. The effects of the frequency and the radial distance between the source and borehole on the induced stresses are examined for the first cylindrical modes over frequency spectra. Two permeability conditions for the interface and three types of soils for the porous formation are considered throughout the analysis. To give an overall outline of the study, a numerical example is presented. The results clearly indicate that the distance is a key parameter and has considerable effects on the induced stress values. In addition, the interface permeability condition and soil characteristics play an important role in determining the dynamic response of the borehole. Finally,the obtained results are compared with the relevant analyses existing in the literature for some limit cases, and good agreement is achieved.

In this paper we propose a numerical method to estimate the fractal dimension of stationary Gaussian stochastic processes using the random Euler numerical scheme and based on an analytical formulation of the fractal dimension for filtered stochastic signals. The discretization of continuous time processes through this random scheme allows us to find, numerically, the expected value, variance and correlation functions at any point of time. This alternative method for estimating the fractal dimension is easy to implement and requires no sophisticated routines. We use simulated data sets for stationary processes of the type Random Ornstein Uhlenbeck to graphically illustrate the results and compare them with those obtained whit the box counting theorem.

We review steady spherically symmetric accretion onto a renormalization group improved Schwarzschild space-time,which is a solution to an asymptotically safe theory(AS)containing high-derivative *** use a hamiltonian dynamical system approach for the analysis of the accretion of four types of isothermal test fluids:ultra-stiff fluid,ultra-relativistic fluid,radiation fluid,and sub-relativistic *** important outcome of our study is that,contrary to the claim in a recent work,there are physical solutions for the accretion of an ultra-relativistic fluid in AS,which include subsonic,supersonic,and transonic ***,we study quantum corrections to the known stability of the accretion in general relativity(GR).To this end,we use a perturbative procedure based on the continuity equation with the mass accretion rate being the perturbed *** classes of perturbations are studied:standing and traveling *** find that quantum gravity effects either enhance or diminish the stability of the accretion depending on the type of test fluid and the radial distance to the central object.

Cables and wires, which are essential parts of equipment for the transmission of both information and electricity, contain valuable materials including copper (Cu) and aluminum (Al). This experimental work evaluates the use of mechanical processing (grinding and sieving), followed by spouted bed elutriation, for separation of the valuable materials (steel-coated copper, copper, and aluminum) present in waste coaxial and internet cables. A recovery efficiency of approximately 90% was achieved for the steel-coated copper in coaxial cables. For in ternet cables, the copper recovery efficiency was approximately 87%. These findings dem on strate that it is possible to separate, recover, and recycle the valuable materials (metals) present in waste cables using simple, low-cost, and efficient mechanical processing followed by spouted bed elutriation.
