The horizontal to vertical spectral ratio(HVSR)methodology is used here to characterize.pumice soils and to image the three-dimensional surface geometry of Guadalajara,*** to other Latin American cities,Guadalajara is e.posed to high seismic risk,with the.particularity of being the largest urban settlement in Latin America built on pumice *** has not yet been tested to characterize subsoil depths in pumice *** to the questionable use of traditional geotechnical tests for the analysis of pumice soils,HVSR provides an alternative for its characterization without altering its fragile and porous *** this work,resonance frequency(F0)and peak amplitude(A0)are used to constrain the depth of the major impedance contrast that represents the interface between bedrock and pumice *** were compared with borehole depths and other available geotechnical and ge.physical data and show good *** of the.profiles estimated on the riverbanks that cross the city,reveals different subsoil thickness that could have an impact on different site re.ponses on riverine areas to an eventual *** and academic efforts are combined in this work to characterize depth sediments,an important parameter that impacts the regulations for construction in the city.

The.progressive deindustrialisation of many western cities since the 1980s has led to many industrial zones linked to port activities being abandoned or falling into *** such as Barcelona,Naples,Lisbon,Amsterdam,and Hamburg have.port industrial complexes of high tangible and intangible heritage value that could totally or partially disappear,resulting in an irreparable loss of their scientific,architectural,social,technological,and historical *** that in mind,Adaptive Reuse(AR)of the built heritage allows the industrial memory of the.ports to be.preserved by turning them into new functional centres within the existing urban *** occurs in the context of the conte.porary challenges of those cities,such as touristification,the circular economy and climate change,while guaranteeing the life cycle of those *** article analyses two case studies—the Nederlandsche Sche.psbouw Maatschappij(NDSM)and the Rotterdamsche Droogdok Maatschappij(RDM)shipyards,both in the Netherlands—in order to contribute to the knowledge of AR of port Industrial *** are two examples of good practices in port industrial heritage interventions,where the factors behind their acclaim can be easily highlighted.A multi-scale methodology is therefore used and tailored to the case of port industrial heritage,based on analysing previous studies of the heritage in different spheres and on different scales.A relationship matrix tool is thus *** enables a comparative study to be conducted,using key variables and indicators,and considering qualitative and quantitative *** provides extensive output information for each case study,which is summarised in the most favourable factors for the success of the AR of this port industrial heritage.

In this study,we investigated the anomalous Chromomagnetic Dipole Moment(CMDM),denoted as μ_(q)^(BLHM),of light quarks q=(u,c,d,s,b) within the framework of the Bestest Little Higgs Model(BLHM)as an extension of the Standard Model(SM).Our investigation encompassed novel interactions among the light quarks,heavy quark B,and heavy bosons (W'^(±),H^(±),φ^(±),η^(±))incorporating the extended Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa(CKM)matrix characteristic of the *** thoroughly e.plored the.permissible.parameter space,yielding a spectrum of CMDM values ranging from 10^(-10) to 10^(-3).

In this paper,the synthesis,structural evolution,and dielectric properties of BaTiO_(3)solid solutions codoped with rare earth elements(Gd^(3+)and eu^(3+))prepared using the solid-state reaction method are *** pure.precursor powders of BaCl_3,TiO_(2),Gd_(2)O_(3),and eu_(2)O_(3)were mixed in stoichiometric proportions,ground in an agate mortar before being uniaxially pressed at 250 Mpa and sintered at 1300℃in air atmosphere for 6 h to obtain Ba_(1-3x)Gd_(2x)Ti_(1-3x)eu_(4x)O_(3)(x=0,0.0015,0.01 and0.1).X-ray diffraction(XRD)and Rietveld's refinement results reveal the crystal phase ferroelectric tetragonal BaTiO_(3)for the samples with x=0,0.0015 and 0.01,as well as a consistent increment in the lattice.parameters caused by the *** solubility limit of Gd^(3+)and eu^(3+)in the BaTiO_(3)structure is reached for the sample with x>0.01,and the orthorhombic eu_2TiO_(5)and monoclinic BaTi_(2)O_(5)secondary phases were *** raman results show the characteristic peaks of ferroelectric tetragonal BaTiO_(3)around 716 cm^(-1)(LO of A1 symmetry),515 cm^(-1)(TO of A1 symmetry),and 305 cm^(-1)(B1).The maximum relative.permittivity measured at 1 kHz was recorded to be 6151.8 for the sample with x=0.0015,and a decrease in the Curie te.perature to 105℃with re.pect to the undoped sample was *** punctual microanalysis for the samples with x=0.0015,0.01,and 0.1 reveals grains composed of Ba,Ti,O,Gd,and eu homogeneously distributed in the BaTiO_(3)*** Ba/Ti ratios for samples with x=0.0015,0.01 and 0.1 are 2.86,2.91,and 0.68,re.pectively,indicating substitution at the Ti site for samples with x=0.0015 and 0.01 and a substitution at the Ba site for the sample with x=0.1.

BACKGROUND prolonged fetal e.posure to hyperglycemia may increase the risk of developing abnormal glucose metabolism and type-2 diabetes during childhood,adolescence,and adulthood;however,the mechanisms by which gestational diabetes mellitus(GDM)predisposes offspring to metabolic disorders remain *** To quantify the nerve axons,macrophages,and vasculature in the.pancreas from adult offspring born from mouse dams with *** GDM was induced by *** of streptozotocin(STZ)in ICR mouse *** 12 wk old,fasting blood glucose levels were determined in *** 15 wk old,female offspring born from dams with and without GDM were sacrificed and pancreata were.processed for *** quantified the density of sensory[calcitonin gene-related peptide(CGRp)]and tyrosine hydroxylase(TH)axons,blood vessels(endomucin),and macro-phages(CD68)in the splenic pancreas using confocal *** Offspring mice born from STZ-treated dams had similar body weight and blood glucose values compared to offspring born from vehicle-treated ***,the density of CGRp+and TH+axons,endomucin+blood vessels,and CD68+macrophages in the exocrine.pancreas was significantly greater in offspring from mothers with GDM vs control ***,the microvasculature in the islets was significantly greater,but not the number of macrophages within the islets of offspring born from dams with GDM compared to control *** GDM induces neuronal,vascular,and inflammatory changes in the.pancreas of adult progeny,which may partially e.plain the higher propensity for offspring of mothers with GDM to develop metabolic diseases.
