At present, all people know that, during the performance of any activity, each person is always under the influence of a set of external factors that can influence in their results. In fact, all people know that factors such as hour, accumulated fatigue, or mood, can be very influential in the productivity. However, there are other less studied factors that can equally be influential, to a greater or lesser extent. For this reason, in the present work are used different techniques belonging to Soft Computing, with the objective of detecting those most influential factors by the execution of a set of experiments under different simulated circumstances in a controlled environment.

When assessing food intake patterns in groups of individuals, a major problem is finding usual intake distribution. This study aimed at searching for a probability distribution to estimate the usual intake of nutrients using data from a cross-sectional investigation on nutrition students from a public university in Sao Paulo state, Brazil. Data on 119 women aged 19 to 30 years old were used. All women answered a questionnaire about their lifestyle, diet and demographics. Food intake was evaluated from a non-consecutive three-day 24-hour food record. Different probability distributions were tested for vitamins C and E, panthotenic acid, folate, zinc, copper and calcium where data normalization was not possible. Empirical comparisons were performed, and inadequacy prevalence was calculated by comparing with the NRC method. It was concluded that if a more realistic distribution for usual intake is found, results can be more accurate as compared to those achieved by other methods.

Piwi-interacting RNAs(piRNAs of 26-32 nt in length)regulate gene expression,epigenetics,and transcriptional and post-transcriptional processes.1 In humans,piRNAs are expressed in germline and somatic tissues,and generally have a uracil at the 5'-end(position+1),an adenine at the+10 position,and are 2'-0 methylated at the 3'-end.2 Onice piRNAs form the RNA-induced silencing complex(RISC)with PIWl proteins,they serve as guides to find their complementary sequences of the target mRNA,thus initiating their *** Wuhan patient's genome is approximately 265 nucleotides(nts)in its 3'-UTR;piRNAs-like sequences have been reported in this region.3 Our objective was to search,through bioinformatics,for mRNA sequences that were homologous to the reverse complementary of the previously reported piRNA-like sequences from the 3'-UTR of SARS-Cov-2,3 and identify the possible interaction between them.

Wood is an organic material that is a source of carbon of organisms called Wood-decay fungi,and to preserve the wood,various toxic compounds to man and the environment have been *** analyze the effect of N,NDimethylhexadecylamine(DmHDA)on wood attacked by the rotting fungus Trametes versicolor *** used an in vitro system to expose the fungus *** to different concentrations of the DmHDA(50,150 and 450µm).We quantified the diameter of mycelial growth and laccase activity,also,under these experimental conditions we studied morphological details of the organisms using different scanning equipment including scanning electron *** growth of *** exposed to DmHDA for 60 days,showed a concentration-dependent dose behavior,also,the electron microscopy analysis revealed that the morphology and mycelial density was affected by the DmHDA,showing a formation of atypical morphological and thickener ***,the pieces of wood treated with DmHDA and exposed to the fungus had a lower mass loss,after a period of 60 days of exposure,the values obtained were 0.7,1.0 and 0.5 g of mass lost for the control,LoC and LoDmHDA treatments ***-rot fungi have represented economic losses worldwide,the strategies used have been supported by toxic compounds for the *** DmHDA both in the Petri dish system and as a wood preservative was shown to significantly inhibit the growth of ***.

In this work we explore the influence of the factors that affect the formation of silver nanoprisms (AgNPs) with distinct size and size distribution as well as the most intense absorption peak shift. Box-Behnken design analysis was applied to optimize the production of silver nanoprism via colloidal synthesis. The analysis of the responses was based on the nanoprisms plasmon peak wavelength related to in-plane dipole (tunable band) at λmax. ≥ 420 nm. The obtained results indicate that Silver ion is the main variable for the tuning of the size and the Localized Surface Plasmon Resonance (LSPR) frequency. By using the Box-Behnken design it was possible to synthesize nanoparticles with a predictable size and to establish a rigorous control of the plasmon frequency at the range of 600 up to 800 nm.

Improvement of nutritional and organoleptic quality of fruits is a key goal in current strawberry breeding *** ratio of sugars to acids is a determinant factor contributing to fruit liking,although different sugars and acids contribute in varying degrees to this complex trait.A segregating F1 population of 95 individuals,previously characterized for several fruit quality characters,was used to map during 2 years quantitative trait loci(QTL)for 50 primary metabolites,L-ascorbic acid(L-AA)and other related traits such as soluble solid content(SSC),titratable acidity(TA),and pH.A total of 133 mQTL were detected above the established thresholds for 44 *** 12.9%of QTL were detected in the 2 years,suggesting a large environmental influence on primary metabolite *** objective of this study was the identification of key metabolites that were associated to the overall variation in SSC and *** it was observed in previous studies,a number of QTL controlling several metabolites and traits were co-located in homoeology group V(HG V).mQTL controlling a large variance in raffinose,sucrose,succinic acid,and L-AA were detected in approximate the same chromosomal regions of different homoeologous linkage groups belonging to HG *** genes for selected mQTL are proposed based on their co-localization,on the predicted function,and their differential gene expression among contrasting F1 progeny ***-seq analysis from progeny lines contrasting in L-AA content detected 826 differentially expressed genes and identified mannose-6-phosphate isomerase,Fam6PI1,as a candidate gene contributing to natural variation in ascorbic acid in strawberry fruit.

Aims Gallery forests within grasslands have natural edges with open envi-ronments and offer a unique opportunity to examine how species performances vary across environmental ***,we asked if demographic rates of tree functional groups varied along the edge,if we could explain differences in plant strategies and performance through functional traits and which traits increase growth and sur-vival in natural *** We examine mortality and recruitment within the first 10 m of nat-ural edges of eight gallery forests using demographic data from five annual *** defined a priori plant strategies using tree functional groups:light demanding,pioneer and shade *** Findings The shade-tolerant group had the lowest mortality rates and basal area(BA)loss,while pioneer and light-demanding species had similar behavior for these *** survival and growth of functional groups were affected differently by the distance from the *** pioneer group survived more near the edge,while light-demanding and shade-tolerant groups toward the forest *** groups had higher growth in the *** differences could be explained by functional traits since most species have an acquisition strategy:higher specific leaf area and growth,lower leaf dry matter con-tent,lighter stem density,deeper crowns and less slender *** traits enhanced ***,mortality selected both strategies,but in distinct edge’s *** study showed that the high diversity found in natural edges can be explained by a niche and functional perspective,where differences in functional traits lead to differential performance along the environmental gradient.
