In this study,a set of coupled multi-media compartments(i.e.,sediment,soil,water and vegetable)was used to assess ecological and health risks from the ingestion of 11 PTEs(Pb,Cd,Cr,As,Hg,Cu,Zn,Ni,Co,Fe,and Mn)and their transportation routes in the water-soil-plant system from the coastal Bhola Island,*** mean concentrations of Cd,Pb,and Co for soil and Cd,Co,and As for sediment were higher than their reference *** contrast,Cd,Pb,and Ni concentrations in water surpassed the acceptable limits set by national and international laws and were considered unsuitable for drinking *** demonstrated high Pb and Cd contents,demonstrating a potential food safety risk to the *** of principal component analysis(PCA)revealed that Cd,Pb,Hg,Cu,Ni and Zn sources were likely to be anthropogenic,especially agro-farming inputs,whereas the Fe,As,Cr,Mn,and Co sources were similar to natural ***,Cd,Pb and Co are the key contaminants in the study area and pose the elevated health and ecological risks in the coastal *** and Pb exhibited higher ecological risks in soils and sediments,as Pb had the highest bio-accessibility(BA;0.02±0.003)and Cd possessed a high bioaccumulation factor(BCF;0.004±0.006).The self-organizing map analysis recognized three spatial patterns which are good agreement with *** average hazard index(HI)values for soil were above the permissible level(HI>1)set by the respective agency;two times higher HI values were noticed for children than adults,suggesting children are highly susceptible to health *** monitoring and source controls for Cd and Pb,along with agro-farming management practices,need to be implemented to reduce the risk of PTE contamination to the aquatic ecosystem and its inhabitants.

Effects of Annealing on the Fabrication of Al-TiAl3 Nanocomposites Before and After Accumulative Roll Bonding and Evaluation of Strengthening Mechanisms

The strengthening mechanisms of Al-TiAl_(3) nanocomposite, fabricated using cold roll bonding, annealing, and accumulative roll bonding(ARB) on Al sheets sandwiching with pure Ti powder were investigated in the present study. With annealing at 590 ℃ for 2 h, TiAl_(3) intermetallic compound was formed. After subsequent ARB process up to 5 cycles, final composite consists of ultrafine Al grains of less than 500 nm with TiAl_(3) particles larger than 200 nm. The strength and hardness of the final composite are 2.5 and 3.5 times the initial values, with an ultimate tensile strength of 400 MPa, which is dominated by grain-boundary strengthening due to the ultrafine Al grains, and Orowan strengthening due to the small TiAl_(3) particles. For comparison, an alternative fabrication route of cold roll bonding–ARB–annealing was also studied. This study showed that annealing before ARB is a critical factor in producing an ultrafine grain structure containing TiAl_(3) particles.

目的探讨术前血清白蛋白与球蛋白比值(albumin-to-globulin ratio,AGR)及中性粒细胞与淋巴细胞比率(neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio,NLR)对食管鳞状细胞癌(鳞癌)患者总体生存(overall survival,OS)的预后价值,建立个体化的列线图模型并评价其效能,以期为食管癌患者的临床治疗及术后预后随访评估提供可能的评价依据。方法回顾性分析2010—2017年新疆医科大学第一附属医院胸外科经病理诊断为食管鳞癌患者的AGR、NLR、临床病理及随访资料。分析NLR、AGR与各临床病理资料的相关性;采用Kaplan-Meier生存曲线及log-rank检验进行生存分析。通过X-tile软件确定AGR、NLR的最佳截断值并根据最佳截断值将患者分为高水平组和低水平组。同时经单因素和多因素Cox回归分析明确影响食管鳞癌患者OS的独立危险因素,并构建列线图预测模型同时经内部验证。通过受试者工作特征(receiver operating characteristic,ROC)曲线和校准曲线评估模型的诊断效能,通过决策曲线分析评估临床应用价值。结果本研究共纳入150例患者,其中男105例、女45例,年龄(62.3±9.3)岁,随访时间1~5年。高水平AGR组患者的5年OS率明显高于低水平组(χ^(2)=6.339,P=0.012),两组中位OS分别为25个月、12.5个月。高水平NLR组患者5年OS率明显低于低水平组(χ^(2)=5.603,P=0.018),两组中位OS分别为18个月、39个月。多因素Cox回归分析提示,AGR、NLR、T分期、N分期、伴随淋巴结转移以及分化程度是食管鳞癌患者OS的独立危险因素。列线图模型经内部验证后C-index为0.689[95%CI(0.640,0.740)],预测1、3、5年OS率的ROC曲线下面积分别为0.773、0.724、0.725。同时校准曲线和决策曲线提示模型在生存预后的预测上有一定的效能。结论术前AGR、NLR是食管鳞癌患者的独立危险因素,高水平AGR和低水平NLR可能与较长OS相关;基于AGR、NLR及临床病理特征的列线图模型,可作为预测食管鳞癌患者生存预后的方法,有望为制定患者个性化治疗提供一定的参考。

Fluid Flow and Mixing in Non-Isothermal Water Model of Continuous Casting Tundish

Fluid flow and mixing of molten steel in a twin-slab-strand continuous casting tundish were investigated using a mixing model under non-isothermal *** model led to a set of ordinary differential equations that were solved with a Runge-Kutta *** state water modeling was carried out under non-isothermal *** data obtained from the water model were used to calibrate the mixing *** to the presence of a mixed convection in the non-isothermal conditions,a channelizing flow would be created in the fluid inside the tundish.A mixing model was designed that was capable of predicting RTD（residence time distribution）curves for different cases in non-isothermal *** relationship between RTD parameters and the Tu（tundish Richardson number）was obtained for various cases under non-isothermal *** results show that the RTD parameters were completely different under isothermal and non-isothermal *** comparison of the RTD curves between the isothermal and non-isothermal conditions presents that the extent of mixing in the tundish in non-isothermal conditions is lower than the mixing extent in isothermal conditions.

Upward Molten Flow for Optimization of Fluid Flow in Continuous Casting Tundish

Fluid flow pattern and buoyancy force support the motion of nonmetallic inclusions toward thetundish slag. Upward molten flow was investigated. To understand the fundamentals of the process, physical modelling was carried out with the utilization of a 1 ： 4 scale model. Numerical modelling was carried out in line with the physicai modelling to examine details of the flow pattern and rotational effect caused by the upward flow with the Commercial CFD （Computational Fluid Dynamics） package environment, FLUENT. The two-equation κ-ε model was used to simulate the turbulence. Multiphase fluid flow was numerically simulated by using the Volume of Fluid （VoF） method. The simulation can predict free surface waves and other phenomena, which can be used to optimize these important metallurgical operations.

MultiDMet: Designing a Hybrid Multidimensional Metrics Framework to Predictive Modeling for Performance Evaluation and Feature Selection

In a competitive digital age where data volumes are increasing with time, the ability to extract meaningful knowledge from high-dimensional data using machine learning (ML) and data mining (DM) techniques and making decisions based on the extracted knowledge is becoming increasingly important in all business domains. Nevertheless, high-dimensional data remains a major challenge for classification algorithms due to its high computational cost and storage requirements. The 2016 Demographic and Health Survey of Ethiopia (EDHS 2016) used as the data source for this study which is publicly available contains several features that may not be relevant to the prediction task. In this paper, we developed a hybrid multidimensional metrics framework for predictive modeling for both model performance evaluation and feature selection to overcome the feature selection challenges and select the best model among the available models in DM and ML. The proposed hybrid metrics were used to measure the efficiency of the predictive models. Experimental results show that the decision tree algorithm is the most efficient model. The higher score of HMM (m, r) = 0.47 illustrates the overall significant model that encompasses almost all the user’s requirements, unlike the classical metrics that use a criterion to select the most appropriate model. On the other hand, the ANNs were found to be the most computationally intensive for our prediction task. Moreover, the type of data and the class size of the dataset (unbalanced data) have a significant impact on the efficiency of the model, especially on the computational cost, and the interpretability of the parameters of the model would be hampered. And the efficiency of the predictive model could be improved with other feature selection algorithms (especially hybrid metrics) considering the experts of the knowledge domain, as the understanding of the business domain has a significant impact.

Plasma Sprayed NiAl Intermetallic Coating Produced with Mechanically Alloyed Powder

In the present research, mechanically alloyed Ni-AI powder was utilized to develop plasma sprayed coatings, and the effect of the spray distance and heat treatment on the phases, microstructure, and hardness of the coat- ings were examined. Coatings were analyzed by X-ray diffraction （XRD）, scanning electron microscopy （SEM）, energy-dispersive spectroscopy （EDS） and through microhardness measurements. Although mechanically alloyed Ni-AI powder showed no intermetallic phases, the coatings did. Different spray distances from 5 to 19 cm were employed for plasma spray and the specimens were heat treated at different temperatures, then the amount of oxides, porosity and hardness of the coatings were changed according to the spray condition. The thermal energy of the plasma spray caused the formation of NiAI phases while particles flew to the substrate or after that. Extreme increase in heat treatment temperature and spray distance resulted in oxidation and reduction in the quality of the coating. Furthermore, the best spray distance and heat treatment temperature to gain the NiAI intermetallic coating were established.

Groundwater quality modeling using self-organizing map(SOM) and geographic information system(GIS) on the Caspian southern coasts

Groundwater is the main source for water provision in the arid and semi-arid areas such as *** groundwater quality was simulated by using a hybrid model integrating a Self-Organizing Map(SOM)and geographic information system(GIS).SOM and GIS were used as pre-processing and postprocessing tools in the Mazandaran ***,the Ground Water Quality Index(GWQI)and its effective factors were estimated by using digital maps and the secondary *** Solutions software was used for simulating the groundwater *** do this,a model was trained and optimized in the SOM and then the optimized model was *** the next step,the performance of SOM in groundwater quality simulation was confirmed(test stage,Rsqr=0.8,and MSE=0.008).Then,the digital maps of the SOM inputs were converted to raster format in *** the last step,a raster layer was generated by combining the model input layers which comprised the model inputs *** tested SOM was used to simulate GWQI in the sites without the secondary data of the groundwater ***,the groundwater quality map was generated by coupling the results of SOM estimations and GIS *** results revealed that the coupling of SOM and GIS has high performance in the simulation of the groundwater *** to the results,a limited area of the studied plain has groundwater resources with low quality(GWQI>0.04).Therefore,that will be a threat to the life of humans,animals,and vegetative ***,it is necessary to plan for managing the groundwater quality in the Mazandaran plain.

Over-the-scope-grasper: A new tool for pancreatic necrosectomy and beyond-first multicenter experience

BACKGROUND Endoscopic treatment of pancreatic necrosis can be challenging and timeconsuming because sticky necrotic debris is sometimes difficult to remove. The over-the-scope-grasper, a new tool that has recently become available for this purpose, might also be useful for other indications. However, clinical data on the efficacy and safety of this new device are *** To evaluate the technical success and safety of the device in a multicenter *** The over-the-scope-grasper was used in nine selected endoscopic centers between November 2020and October 2021 for appropriate indications. Overall, 56 procedures were included in the *** retrospectively evaluated procedural parameters of all endoscopic interventions using a predefined questionnaire, with special respect to technical success, indications, duration of intervention, type of sedation, and complications. In the case of pancreatic necrosectomy, the access route, stent type, number of necrosis pieces removed, and clinical handling were also *** A total of 56 procedures were performed, with an overall technical success rate of 98%. Most of the procedures were endoscopic pancreatic necrosectomies(33 transgastric, 4 transduodenal). In 70%of the procedures, access to the necrotic cavity was established with a lumen apposing metal *** technical success of pancreatic necrosectomy was 97%, with a mean of 8 pieces(range, 2-25pieces) of necrosis removed in a mean procedure time of 59 min(range, 15-120 min). In addition,the device has been used to remove blood clots(n = 6), to clear insufficiency cavities before endoluminal vacuum therapy(n = 5), and to remove foreign bodies from the upper gastrointestinal tract(n = 8).
