Study on the Microsecond Pulse Homogeneous Dielectric Barrier Discharges in Atmospheric Air and Its Influencing Factors

The homogeneous dielectric barrier discharge （DBD） in atmospheric air between two symmetric-columnar copper electrodes with epoxy plates as the dielectric barriers is generated using a us pulse high voltage power supply. The discharge characteristics are studied by measurement of its electrical discharge parameters and observation of its light emission phenom- ena, and the main discharge parameters of the homogenous DBD, such as discharge current and average discharge power, are calculated. Results show that the discharge generated is a homogeneous one with one larger single current pulse of about 2 #s duration appearing in each voltage pulse, and its light emission is radially homogeneous and covers the entire surface of the two elec- trodes. The influences of applied voltage amplitude, air gap distance and barrier thickness on the transition of discharge modes are studied. With the increase of air gap distance, the discharge will transit from homogeneous mode to filamentary mode. The higher the thickness of dielectric barriers, the larger the air gap distance for generating the homogeneous discharge mode. The average discharge power increases non-linearly with increasing applied voltage amplitude, and decreases non-linearly with the increase of air gap distance and barrier thickness. In order to generate stable and homogeneous DBD with high discharge power, thin barriers distance should be used, and higher applied voltage amplitude should be applied to small air gap.

A new dynamic model for mixed, flexible bar and gear multibody systems is developed based on a specific finite element method, and a new gear element is proposed. The gear element can take into account the time variant stiffness, the gear errors and mass unbalance. The model for geared multibody systems can couple the gear meshing and the flexibility of all contained components. The kinematic and dynamic analyses of the geared multibody systems are expounded and illustrated on an example composed of three gears, two bars and one slider.

The use of sulfur hexafiuoride （SF6） as a tracer gas for analyzing underground mine ventilation systems has been practiced for over 30 years. As a result, the methods used to release, sample, and analyze SF6 are well accepted. As the complexity and size of underground mine ventilation networks increase, the ability of a SF6 to function as a convenient and rapid means of analysis diminishes. The utilization of multiple tracer gases can mitigate this by removing the need to purge the background presence of a tracer before conducting another release and allowing for a more comprehensive evaluation using multi-zone tech- niques. Recent studies have identified perfluoromethylcyclohexane （PMCH） as a possible supplement for SF6 in underground mine ventilation tracer studies. However, the deployment of PMCH remains a challenge because of this compounds physical properties. This paper evaluates a PMCH permeation plug release vessel （PPRV） under controlled turbulent conditions. The details of the experimental parameters used in the evaluation as well as a discussion regarding the performance of the PPRV are included.

House price prediction is of utmost importance in forecasting residential property prices, particularly as the demand for high-quality housing continues to rise. Accurate predictions have implications for real estate investors, financial institutions, urban planners, and policymakers. However, accurately predicting house prices is challenging due to the complex interplay of various influencing factors. Previous studies have primarily focused on basic property information, leaving room for further exploration of more intricate features, such as amenities, traffic, and social sentiments in the surrounding environment. In this paper, we propose a novel approach to house price prediction from a multi-source data fusion perspective. Our methodology involves analyzing house characteristics and incorporating factors from diverse aspects, including amenities, traffic, and emotions. We validate our approach using a dataset of 28550 real-world transactions in Beijing, China, providing a comprehensive analysis of the drivers influencing house prices. By adopting a multi-source data fusion perspective and considering a wide range of influential factors, our approach offers valuable insights into house price prediction. The findings from this study possess the capability to improve the accuracy and effectiveness of house price prediction models, benefiting stakeholders in the real estate market.

The effect of aeration conditions and pH control on the progress and efficiency of beet molasses vinasse biodegradation was investigated during four batch processes at 38°C with the mixed microbial culture composed of Bifidobacterium,Lactobacillus,Lactococcus,Streptococcus,Bacillus,Rhodopseudomonas,and *** four processes were carried out in a shake flask with no pH control,an aerobic bioreactor without mixing with no pH control,and a stirred-tank reactor （STR） with aeration with and without pH control,*** experiments were started with an initial pH *** highest efficiency of biodegradation was achieved through the processes conducted in the STR,where betaine （an organic pollutant occurring in beet molasses in very large quantities） was completely degraded by the *** process with no pH control carried out in the STR produced the highest reduction in the following pollution measures：organic matter expressed as chemical oxygen demand determined by the dichromatic method ＋ theoretical COD of betaine （COD sum,85.5%）,total organic carbon （TOC,78.8%） and five-day biological oxygen demand （BOD 5,98.6%）.The process conditions applied in the shake flask experiments,as well as those used in the aerobic bioreactor without mixing,failed to provide complete betaine *** a consequence,reduction in COD sum,TOC and BOD 5 was approximately half that obtained with STR.

The dynamic characteristics of cooking-related particle size distributions in real-world settings are not fully *** a real-world campaign in a naturally-ventilated apartment in the northwest US,this study investigates the temporal profiles of size-resolved particle number concentrations(PNCs)ranging from 0.3 to 10µm from frying cooking *** cooking scenarios included various combinations of window ventilation,venting range hood(VRH)use,and portable air cleaner(PAC)*** a standardized pan-frying protocol throughout seven scenarios,real-time PNCs of 16-size bins were measured in the *** PNCs were empirically compared among size bins,periods,and *** most abundant size ranges of cooking-related particles were 0.3–0.579µm in number(45%–71%of the total)and 2.685–5.182µm in mass(48%–57%of the total).Compared with the scenario without any cooking-fume mitigating measures,keeping the kitchen windows open reduced the mean PNCs during and within 1-h after cooking for PM_(0.3-2.5),PM_(2.5-10),and PM_(0.3-10)by 78%,92%,and 79%,*** contrast,utilizing a VRH during cooking reduced the corresponding levels by 21%,69%,and 25%,*** with running the VRH,using a PAC in the kitchen led to additional reductions of 84%,88%,and 84%,***,the removal efficiencies of the three strategies generally increased with particle sizes.
