Objective:To study the behavioral effects of semi purified fraction prepared from the stem bark of Erythrina velutina on ***:Three chloroformic fractions(CA) at 50 or 100 mg/kg(CA1,CA2 and CA3) were tested in two behavioral tests;plus maze and open ***:In the plus maze test,it was observed a decrease in the number of entries in the closed arms(NECA) CA2 at both doses as compared to the control *** the open field test,CA2 and CA3 fractions decreased the number of squares crossed and the time of permanence on the bar,increased the number of falls at both doses in the rota rod *** CA2 fraction decreased the NECA,but this data did not characterize an anxiolytic *** was the consequence from decrease of locomotor activity(LA) observed in the open field test,that the decrease of LA and rearing,the number of falls and the decrease in time of permanence on the bar in rota rod test were observed after treatment with CA2 and CA3 at both doses,suggesting sedative ***:The present work demonstrated that CA2 and CA3 fractions have impairing effect on LA and motor coordination.

In the last few years,feed additives have been used in animal nutrition to improve nutrient utilization,health parameters and animal ***,the use of antibiotics as feed additives has allowed the occurrence of antimicrobial resistance(AMr),which can bring as a consequence,an increase in the morbidity and mortality of diseases that were previously treatable with *** this context,antimicrobial peptides(AMP)have appeared as a promising strategy because they have multiple bio-logical activities and represent a powerful strategy to prevent the development of resistant *** the small number of studies applied in vivo,AMP appear as a potent alternative to the use of antibiotics in animal nutrition,due to an increase in feed efficiency and the prevention/treatment of some animal *** review discusses the problems associated with antimicrobial resistance and the use of AMP as a strong candidate to replace conventional antibiotics,mainly in the animal industry.

Boletellus nordestinus is described as a new species from white sandy dunes in the Northeastern Brazilian Atlantic *** area is known as a potential ectotrophic forest,since some ectomycorrhizal fungi had been found in the same *** new species is characterized by dry,velutinous and olivaceus to chocolate brown pileus,context and hymenophore non-cyanescent when exposed or pressured,short and longitudinally ridged basidiospores,fusiform to ventricose cystidia,and a trichodermal pileipellis with disarticulated,acute terminal elements.A full description,line drawings,color photographs and molecular phylogenetic data of the new species are provided.

This study investigated the effect of gamma radiation on the digestibility and functional properties of rice *** cultivars IrGA417 and IAC202 were used for isolation of starch by the alkaline *** samples were irradiated with 1,2 and 5 k Gy doses of ^(60)Co at a rate of 0.4 k Gy/h.A control sample,which was not irradiated,was used for *** and control starches were characterized by in vitro starch digestibility,total dietary fiber,color,water absorption index,water solubility index,syneresis,swelling factor,amylose leaching,pasting properties and gel *** changed starch digestibility differently in either *** radiation doses promoted increase in the color parameter b*(yellow),elevation in the capacity to absorb water,and solubility in water as well as the amylose leached from granules for both *** properties showed a decrease that was proportional to the dose applied,caused by the depolymerization of starch *** firmness of the starch from IAC202 was inversely proportional to the radiation dose applied,whereas for IrGA417,there was a reduction at 5 k Gy *** starches can be modified by irradiation to exhibit different functional characteristics and they can be used by the food industries in products such as soups,desserts,flans,puddings and others.

A large amount of researches and studies have been recently performed by applying statistical and machine learning techniques for vibration-based damage detection. However, the global character inherent to the limited number of modal properties issued from operational modal analysis may be not appropriate for early-damage, which has generally a local character. The present paper aims at detecting this type of damage by using static SHM data and by assuming that early-damage produces dead load redistribution. To achieve this objective a data driven strategy is proposed, consisting of the combination of advanced statistical and machine learning methods such as principal component analysis, symbolic data analysis and cluster analysis. From this analysis it was observed that, under the noise levels measured on site, the proposed strategy is able to automatically detect stiffness reduction in stay cables reaching at least 1%.

Critically ill cirrhotic patients have high in-hospital mortality and utilize significant health care resources as a consequence of the need for multiorgan *** this fact,their mortality has decreased in recent decades due to improved care of critically ill ***-on-chronic liver failure(ACLF),sepsis and elevated hepatic scores are associated with increased mortality in this population,especially among those not eligible for liver *** score is superior to another in the prognostic assessment of these patients,and both liver-specific and intensive care unit-specific scores have satisfactory predictive *** sequential assessment of the scores,especially the Sequential Organ Failure Assessment(SOFA)and Chronic Liver Failure Consortium(CLIF)-SOFA scores,may be useful as an auxiliary tool in the decision-making process regarding the benefits of maintaining supportive therapies in this population.A CLIF-ACLF>70 at admission or at day 3 was associated with a poor prognosis,as well as SOFA score>19 at baseline or increasing SOFA score>*** studies addressing the prognostic assessment of these patients are necessary.
