Photonic technology combined with artificial intelligence plays a key role in the development of the latest smart system trends,integrating cutting-edge technology with machine learning *** paper proposes a transmission-reflection analysis based system using dielectric nanoparticle-doped fiber combined with artificial intelligence to address one of the major problems in the distributed sensing approach:reducing the cost while maintaining high spatial resolution to close the gap between distributed sensors and the general *** learning-based models are designed to classify the perturbed positions when the same force is used and force regression when different forces are applied on each *** results show an accuracy of 99.43%in the position classification of multiple disturbances and an rms error of 1.53 N in the force regression,which represents 5%of the force *** addition,a smart environment using the current system is proposed,which presented 100%accuracy in identifying the positions of different persons in the *** smart environment enables remote home care of patients with high reliability,intelligent decision-making,and a predictive capability.

Laccases are blue multicopper enzymes, capable of oxidizing diverse aromatic and non-aromatic compounds of industrial interest, concomitantly with reduction of molecular oxygen to water. Tolerance to extreme conditions, such as high temperature, salinity or extreme pH, is required for practical industrial applications. Here we focus on bacterial laccases from the phylum Actinobacteria, notably the order Actinomycetales. Currently, less than 10 enzymes have been properly characterized, all belonging to genus Streptomyces, but it is noteworthy that all of them have exhibited industrially important properties. Furthermore, studies with enzymes from this phylum revealed a novel molecular structure of laccases, providing the basis for a distinct family, the two-domain laccases. The relevant traits of actinomycetes laccases emphasize the need for more studies involving the isolation of this bacterial group from lignin-rich environmental samples, detection of their laccase activity and thereafter, characterization of the proteins and related genes. The nonhomogeneous responses of actinomycetes laccases to traditional inhibitors, substrates or metal ions have challenged the currently accepted “laccase concept”. Finally, considering that distinguishing laccase activity in vitro from other ligninolytic enzymes becomes a difficult task due to overlaps in catalytical properties of the enzymes, we proposed a simple flow chart to help experimental assays.

Multiple Myeloma (MM) is a disseminated plasma cell tumor caused by the proliferation of a single plasma cell clone which results from the production of monoclonal immunoglobulin, most commonly class G (IgG). MM is a cancer of the elderly, with a mean age at diagnosis of 68 years. A 79-year-old white patient sought the outpatient clinic of the Discipline of Stomatology, S?o José dos Campos Dental School, UNESP, because of a fracture associated with an osteolytic lesion in the right ascending ramus of the mandible. In view of the clinical-radiographic findings, exploratory fine needle aspiration (FNA) of the lesion was performed and the sanguinolent material obtained was submitted to the preparations of smears for cytology analysis. The diagnosis of MM was based on laboratory and radiographic findings. FNA cytology analysis of the lesion permitted a diagnostic hypothesis of MM.

Background： This study evaluated the impact of hormonal modulation at the onset of proestrus on ovarian response and uterine gene expression of beef ***： A total of 172 anestrous beef cows were assigned to one of four groups according to the treatment with estradiol cypionate（ECP） and/or equine chorionic gonadotropin（eCG） [CON（n = 43）, ECP（n = 43）, eCG（n = 44）and ECP ＋ eCG（n = 42）].results： ECP-treated cows（ECP and ECP ＋ eCG groups） presented greater occurrence of estrus（44.6% vs. 65.4%; P = 0.01） and pregnancy per AI [47.1% vs. 33.3%; P = 0.07], but similar progesterone（P4） concentration at subsequent diestrus than cows not treated with ECP（CON and eCG groups）. Nonetheless, eCG-treated cows（eCG and ECP ＋ eCG groups） presented larger follicle at timed AI（12.6 ± 0.3 vs. 13.5 ± 0.3 mm; P = 0.03）, greater ovulation rate（96.5%vs. 82.6%; P = 0.008） and greater P4 concentration at d 6（3.9 ± 0.2 vs. 4.8 ± 0.2 ng/mL; P = 0.001） than cows not treated with eCG（CON and ECP groups）. Next, cows with a new corpus luteum 6 d after TAI were submitted to uterine biopsy procedure. Uterine fragments [CON（n = 6）, ECP（n = 6）] were analyzed by rNA-Seq and a total of 135 transcripts were differentially expressed between groups（73 genes up-regulated by ECP treatment）. Subsequently,uterine samples were analyzed by q PCr（genes associated with cell proliferation）. ECP treatment induced greater abundance of PTCH2（P = 0.07） and COL4 A1（P = 0.02）, whereas suppressed EGFr（P = 0.09） expression. Conversely, eCG treatment increased abundance of HB-EGF（P = 0.06）, ESr2（P = 0.09）, and ITGB3（P = 0.05）, whereas it reduced transcription of ESr1（P = 0.05）. Collectively, supplementation with ECP or eCG at the onset of proestrous of anestrous beef cows influenced ovarian responses, global and specific endometrial gene ***： Proestrus estradiol regulate the endometrial transcriptome, particularly stimulating proliferative activity in the endometrium.

Objectives: To determine prevalence, incidence and risk factors of delirium in hospitalized patients in the infirmary of medical clinic of the Lauro Wanderley University Hospital. Method: An observational cohort study evaluating 140 patients over 18 years between admission and discharge. The survey instrument was the Confusion Assessment Method. results: The prevalence of delirium was 5.7% (8/140) and the incidence, 2.1%. In patients with delirium were observed alteration of sleep-wake cycle (6/75%), altered level of consciousness (6/75%), disorganized thinking (5/62, 5%) and psychomotor retardation (5/62 5%). There was a significant association of delirium and age, mechanical restraint in bed, prior history of cognitive impairment, auditory and visual sensory deficit, psychiatric hospitalization, poor health status and mortality. Conclusions: The prevalence of delirium at admission was lower than that found in other studies, but it was a predictor factor of hospital mortality.

A depressed skull fracture is an inward buckling of the calvarial bones and is referred to as a “ ping- pong" fracture. This study aimed to look at differences between “ spontaneous"and "instrument- associated" depressed skull fractures. This retrospective, case- control analysis included every neonate who was admitted with a depressed skull fracture between 1990 and 2000. Cases after a spontaneous vaginal delivery, elective cesarean delivery, or cesarean delivery that was performed during labor without previous instrument use were classified as “ spontaneous"(n = 18 cases). Cases after a delivery in which forceps or a vacuum cup had been used either successfully or unsuccessfully were classified as “ instrument- associated" (n = 50 cases). Continuous data were analyzed with 2- tailed unpaired t tests; χ 2 analysis was used for nominal data. A probability value of red statistically significant. Fifty depressed skull fractures were associated with an instrument delivery, and 18 depressed skull fractures were classified as "spontaneous." The only obstetric parameter that differed significantly between the 2 groups was the length of the active phase. Among the 68 neonates, 15 neonates underwent prolonged second stage, forceps or manual head rotation, or forceps use during elective cesarean delivery. All “ instrument- associated" cases were caused by forceps application or sequential instrument use; depressed skull fractures never occurred after isolated vacuum extraction. Every type of forceps was involved. Intracranial lesions were significantly more frequent in the instrument- associated group (30% vs 0% ; P =. 02). Two infants sustained persistent severe motor disabilities. Depressed skull fractures occur in the setting of spontaneous and operative deliveries, although the incidence is higher in the latter case.
