Setting: Private and public tuberculo.is (TB) treatment centers in Lago. State, Nigeria. o.jective: To.co.pare adherence o. private and public pro.iders o. directly o.served treatment sho.t co.rse (Do.S) in the Lago. State TB co.tro. pro.ram, Nigeria (LSTBLCP) with the natio.al TB guidelines. Design: A retro.pective review o. treatment cards o. TB patients managed within the first and seco.d quarter o. 2012 in 34 Do.S facilities {23 public, 7 private fo. pro.it (PFP), and 4 private no. fo. pro.it (PNFP)} invo.ved in the private public mix o. the LSTBLCP. Results: o. the 1896 treatment cards reviewed, 1524 (80.4%), 132 (7.0%) and 240 (12.6%) were fro. public, PFP and PNFP Do.S facilities, respectively. Abo.t 19%, 25% and no.e o. the patients managed at the public, PNFP, and PFP Do.S facilities were treated in full adherence with the natio.al guidelines respectively. A significantly higher pro.o.tio. o. adults and sputum smear po.itive TB patients were treated in full adherence with the natio.al guidelines (p o.iated with full adherence with the natio.al guidelines. Co.clusio.: There is a need to.reo.ient health care pro.iders in public and private health facilities in Lago. State Nigeria to.ensure full adherence with the natio.al TB guidelines.

Go.gle,Go.gle Scho.ar,PubMed,***,Ebsco.o.t and Wo.ldwide science,with the exceptio. o. research theses,pro.eedings,unpublished pro.ects and abstracts,were co.lated and analyzed using descriptive ***:A to.al o. 146 published scho.arly articles spanning abo.t six decades were retrieved,with 98%o. the GCR publicatio.s o.iginating fro. African *** bo.sts the highest number o. publicatio.s(58.22%)fo.lo.ed by Ghana(21.23%)and So.th Africa(5.48%)while Senegal co.tributed the least(0.69%).Publicatio.s were so.ted into.ten field *** field with the highest number o. articles(41.78%)was animal breeding and management reco.ding,clo.ely fo.lo.ed by anato.y(37.67%).Lesser co.tributio.s were made by parasito.o.y(5.48%),bio.hemistry/hemato.o.y(4.8%),pharmaco.o.y/to.ico.o.y(4.11%),patho.o.y(2.06%),and surgery/anesthesia and physio.o.y(1.37%apiece).The fields with fewest co.tributio.s were micro.io.o.y and develo.mental bio.o.y(0.69%each).Co.clusio.:This study chro.icles the spectrum o. kno.ledge available o. the GCR,highlighting the kno.ledge gap that still exists in vario.s fields in o.der to.pro.ide advo.acy fo. new fro.tiers in research effo.ts o. this *** suggest the need fo. a clearly defined and well integrated natio.al/regio.al po.icy aimed at establishing Africa's fo.emo.t micro.livesto.k ro.ent,the greater cane rat,o. the wo.ld's scientific radar.

The analysis o. bacterial diversity in aquatic systems particularly in rivers, lakes, and streams can pro.ide useful data o. the effect o. anthro.o.enic activities o. such water bo.ies to.humans and fishes. Idah River, the fo.al po.nt o. this study, is an o.fsho.t o. the two.majo. Nigerian rivers characterized by o.served human activities and po.lutio. so.rces. Water samples were co.lected fro. fo.r designated sites and assessed fo. their bacterial assemblages and structure, using PacBio.Single-Mo.ecule Real-Time (SMRT) sequencing techno.o.y. The full length o. the 16S rRNA gene was sequenced, and Amplico. Sequence Variants were generated using the DADA2 wo.kflo. o.timised fo. PacBio.lo.g-read amplico.s in Rstudio. A to.al o. 8751 high-quality reads o.tained were taxo.o.ically classified as 24 phyla, 42 classes, 84 o.ders, 125 families, 156 genera, and 106 species. Taxo.o.ical co.po.itio. revealed Pro.eo.acteria as the mo.t abundant phyla acro.s all sample sites. At the genera level, Azo.pira (57.03%) was the mo.t do.inant ASV in Do.king Po.nt A, while Acineto.acter (66.67%) was the mo.t abundant ASV in Do.king Po.nt B. In Idah Axis Co.fluence, hgcl clade (65.66%) was the mo.t prevalent ASV, whereas Ho.o.haga (42.86%) was the mo.t co.mo. ASV in Idah Axis Midstream. Genera analysis also.revealed that 12.9% o. the to.al ASVs were disco.ered acro.s all sample sites. Amo.g these were patho.enic bacteria, reducers, and degraders o. do.estic and animal wastes. o.served results pro.ide evidence that sampled sites o. Idah River are co.taminated, mo.t likely thro.gh co.stant human activities and thus, co.ld have an impact o. resident fishes as well. This study, therefo.e, agrees with a previo.s repo.t fro. the river, which used standard micro.ial pro.edures. Ho.ever, next-generatio. sequencing techniques emplo.ed revealed mo.e bacterial co.munity than the fo.mer, including unreso.ved taxo.o.ic sequences that may be no.el.
