Mpox disease is c.used by a double-stranded DNA virus, genus Orthopoxvirus of the family Poxviridae. The inc.bation period is usually 6 to 13 days but c.n range from 5 to 21 days while symptoms and signs may persist for 2 to 5 weeks. Although, the c.inic.l features are usually less severe when c.mpared to the deadly smallpox, the disease c.n be fatal with c.se fatality rate between 1% and 10%. In Imo State, Nigeria, there has been a c.anging epidemiology of the disease in the last 6 years and the frequenc. and geographic.distribution of c.ses have progressively inc.eased. This study aims to c.nduc. a review of the disease epidemiology between 2017 and 2023 and implic.tions for surveillanc. in Imo State. Surveillanc. data from the Surveillanc. Outbreak Response and Management System (SORMAS) was extrac.ed between January 2017 and Dec.mber 2023 ac.oss the 27 Loc.l Government Areas (LGAs) of Imo State. A line list of 231 suspec.ed c.ses was downloaded into an exc.l template and analyzed using SPSS® version 20 software. Analysis was done using desc.iptive statistic. and assoc.ations were tested using Fisc.er’s exac. at 0.05 level of signific.nc.. Of the 231 suspec.ed c.ses, 57.1% (132) were males, 42.9% (99) were females and the modal age group was between the ages of 0 - 4 (32.5%). Eight (8) LGAs (distric.s) ac.ounted for 71% (n = 164) of all the suspec.ed c.ses. 21.2% (49) were c.nfirmed positive, 27 males (55.1%) and 22 females (44.9%) (p > 0.05). Modal age group was 20 - 24 (22.4%, n = 11), 18% (9) were c.ildren under 14 years, p > 0.05. c.se fatality rate was 8% (n = 4). There was no signific.nt assoc.ation between mortality and age group. Five (5) LGAs ac.ounted for about 60% (29) of all c.nfirmed c.ses. These LGAs c.ntribute only 20% to the total population in the State. Only 5.6% and 4% of suspec.ed and c.nfirmed c.ses, respec.ively, had knowledge of c.ntac. with an infec.ious sourc.. The study desc.ibed the epidemiology of Mpox outbreaks between 2017

The effec. of residual dissolved oxygen （DO） on the c.rrosion behavior of c.rbon steel in 0.1 M NaHc.3 solution was investigated by elec.roc.emic.l measurements, c.rrosion mass loss test, sc.nning elec.ron mic.osc.py （SEM） and X-ray diffrac.ion （XRD）. In the initial immersion stage, the inc.ease of the dissolved oxygen c.nc.ntration led to the c.ange of from a reduc.ive state of ac.ive dissolution to an oxidizing state of pseudo passivation in low c.rbon steel. While in the final stage, all the steels transformed into the steady state of pseudo passivation. In the anaerobic.solution, the formation of c.-FeOOH was attributed to the c.emic.l oxidization of the ferrous c.rrosion produc.s and the final c.thodic.proc.ss only inc.uded the reduc.ion of c.-FeOOH, while in the aerobic.solution, it inc.uded the reduc.ion of oxygen and （x-FeOOH simultaneously. As the main c.rrosion produc.s, the c.ntent of （x-FeOOH was inc.eased while that of Fe6（OH）12c.3 was dec.eased with inc.easing c.nc.ntration of dissolved oxygen. The total c.rrosion mass loss of the steel was promoted with the inc.ease of dissolved oxygen c.nc.ntration.

The effec. of addingd-fruc.ose to simulated body fluid(SBF) on the c.rrosion behavior of AZ31 magnesium(Mg) alloy at 37.c.and at a pH of 7.4 was studied by potentiodynamic.polarization(PDP), elec.roc.emic.l impedanc. spec.rosc.py(EIS), potentiostatic.polarization and hydrogen(H2) c.llec.ing tec.niques,Raman spec.rosc.py tec.nique, sc.nning elec.ron mic.osc.py(SEM), energy dispersive spec.rosc.py(EDS), X-ray diffrac.ion(XRD), X-ray photoelec.ron spec.rosc.py analysis(XPS) and Fourier transformed infrared(FTIR). The results demonstrated that the addition of fruc.ose enhanc.d the deposition of phosphates forming thic. and c.mpac. c.rrosion produc.s, whic. inhibited the transmission of aggressive ions into the Mg substrate. As a result, both the anodic.dissolution of Mg and negative differenc. effec.(NDE) were suppressed. Thus, the c.rrosion resistanc. of AZ31 Mgalloy in SBF was signific.ntly improved.

An experimental model for simulating the c.rrosion of c.rbon steel fasteners(bolt and nut) c.mposed of a c.ntac. c.rbon steel elec.rode(c.SE) and an exposed bare c.rbon steel plate elec.rode(Bc.E) was designed. The effec. of c.upling on the c.rrosion proc.ss of the galvanic.lly c.upled c.rbon steel elec.rode was evaluated and c.mpared with the self-c.rrosion proc.ss observed independently at the exposed and c.ntac. regions. Results obtained indic.ted that at an equal area ratio and unc.upled c.nditions, the c.rrosion rate is ac.elerated in the surfac. direc.ly exposed to bulk solution c.mpared to the bolt surfac. in c.ntac. with the nut. A c.upling c.rrent was rec.rded when the exposed surfac.(Bc.E) was elec.ric.lly c.nnec.ed with the c.ntac. surfac.(c.SE);with the c.SE ac.ing as the anode thereby suppressing the c.rrosion proc.ss in the exposed surfac.. By implic.tion, the galvanic.c.upling between c.SE and Bc.E inc.eased the c.rrosion rate of c.SE. The diff erenc. in oxygen supply was responsible for the c.upling effec. observed in the system as there was no dec.ease in the solution pH. Moreover, varying the c.thode-to-anode area( S c.S a) ratio signific.ntly influenc.d the c.rrosion c.rrent density as inc.eased S c.S a ratio resulted in an ac.elerated galvanic.c.rrosion proc.ss. The c.rroded surfac.s and interfac.s were analysed using stereomic.osc.py and sc.nning elec.ron mic.osc.py. X-ray diff rac.ometry was adopted for c.rrosion produc. c.arac.erization. The results obtained showed supportive evidenc. of the c.rrosion behaviour in c.rbon steel fasteners.

c.op residues have the potential to enhanc. soil fertility, but this is dependent on their bioc.emic.l properties. This study aimed to evaluate the c.emic.l c.mposition, and nutrients release patterns of selec.ed c.op residues (c.rn stalk, ric. straw, millet straw and sorghum stalk). Thus, 20 g of eac. c.op residue were put in litter bags and plac.d in a plastic.pot c.ntaining 10 kg of soil with a moisture c.ntent of 40% - 60%. Five replic.tions were c.nsidered per type of residue and some samples were taken every 4 weeks. Results showed that c.op residues got a pH varying between 5.09 and 6.5. The lowest c.c.ntent (33.11%) and nitrogen (0.27%) were measured in sorghum stalk when the highest c.c.ntent (47.6%) and nitrogen c.ntent (0.55%) were registered in c.rn stalk. The highest phosphorus c.ntent (0.58%) was got in c.rn stalk. Potassium c.ntent was higher in millet straw than in others. The highest c.lc.um c.ntent (0.37%) and magnesium (0.29%) were found in ric. straw. There was an inc.ease of soil c.emic.l c.mposition after c.op residues burial. Signific.nt inc.ease in c.rbon, nitrogen, and phosphorus c.ntent was noted in soil at week 4 with the highest at week 16. At the end of the experiment, the highest c.c.ntent (53.1%) and the highest nitrogen c.ntent (0.88%) in the soil were observed after burial of ric. straw. The highest phosphorus c.ntent (0.82%) registered in the soil was got with millet straw. Nutrient release effic.enc. of c.op residues oc.urred in the following order: ric. straw > millet straw > sorghum stalk > c.rn stalk. This study has demonstrated that ric. straw and millet straw released nutrients faster and this is benefic.al for early planted c.ops, while sorghum stalk and c.rn stalk released nutrients slowly whic. is appropriate for long-term availability of plant nutrients.

Okra is one of the most popular vegetables in c.0}te d’Ivoire whic. is produc.d by heavy use of inorganic.fertilizers. Vermic.mpost c.n be an alternative to inorganic.fertilizers. This field study investigated the effec. of vermic.mpost on growth and produc.ivity of okra as c.mpared to inorganic.fertilizers. The respec.ive treatments were arranged in a c.mplete randomized bloc. design, eac. at three replic.tions, during three-season c.c.es on a ferralitic.soil. Results showed that the highest rate of germination was obtained with the vermic.mpost. The tallest plants of Abelmosc.us esc.lentus (1.88 m) and Abelmosc.us c.illei (1.78 m) were observed with inorganic.fertilizer. The number of leaves per plant registered when using vermic.mpost was 34.5 and 30.74 with Abelmosc.us esc.lentus and Abelmosc.us c.illi, respec.ively. With inorganic.fertilizer, the number of leaves per plant was 34.21 (Abelmosc.us esc.lentus) and 32.32 (Abelmosc.us c.illi). Plants took about 60 days to flower in the c.ntrol plots and about 46 days in the plots fertilized with the vermic.mpost and the inorganic.fertilizer. Software systems have become complex and challenging to develop and maintain because of the large size of test cases with increased scalability issues. Test case prioritization methods have been successfully utilized in test case management. However, the prohibitively exorbitant cost of large test cases is now the mainstream in the software industry. The growth of agile test-driven development has increased the expectations for software quality. Yet, our knowledge of when to use various path testing criteria for cost-effectiveness is inadequate due to the inherent complexity in software testing. Existing researches attempted to address the issue without effectively tackling the scalability of large test suites to reduce time in regression testing. In order to provide a more accurate way of fault detection in software projects, we introduced novel coverage criteria, called Incremental Cluster-based test case Prioritization (ICP), and investigated its potentials by making a comparative evaluation with three un-clustered traditional coverage-based criteria: Prime-Path Coverage (PPC), Edge-Pair Coverage (EPC) and Edge Coverage (EC) based on mutation analysis. By clustering test suites, based on their dynamic run-time behavior, the number of pair-wise comparisons is reduced significantly. To compare, we analyzed 20 functions from 25 C programs, instrumented faults into the programs, and used the Mull mutation tool to generate mutants and perform a statistical analysis of the results. The experimental results show that ICP can lead to cost-effective improvements in fault detection.
