Intra-tumor heterogeneity is now arguably one of the most-studied topics in tumor biology,as it represents a major obstacle to effective cancer *** tumor cells are highly diverse at genetic,epigenetic,and phenotypic levels,intra-tumor heterogeneity can be assumed as an important contributing factor to the nullification of chemotherapeutic effects,and recurrence of the *** on the role of heterogeneous subpopulations of cancer cells with varying cell-cycle dynamics and behavior during cancer progression and treatment;herein,we aim to establish a comprehensive definition for adaptation of neoplastic cells against *** discuss two parallel and yet distinct subpopulations of tumor cells that play pivotal roles in reducing the effects of chemotherapy:"resistant"and"tolerant"***,this review also highlights the impact of the quiescent phase of the cell cycle as a survival mechanism for cancer *** understanding the mechanisms under-lying the quiescence,it provides an insightful perspective on cancer stem cells(CsCs)and their dual and intertwined functions based on their cell cycle state in response to ***-over,CSCs,epithelial-mesenchymal transformed cells,circulating tumor cells(CTCs),and disseminated tumor cells(DTCs),which are mostly in a quiescent state of the cell cycle are proved to have multiple biological links and can be implicated in our viewpoint of cell cycle heterogeneity in ***,increasing our knowledge of cell cycle heterogeneity is a key to identifying new therapeutic solutions,and this emerging concept may provide us with new opportunities to prevent the dreadful cancer recurrence.

Analytical model for thermal lensing and spherical aberration in diode side-pumped Nd:YAG laser rod having Gaussian pump profile

In this paper, according to the temperature and strain distribution obtained by considering the Gaussian pump profile and dependence of physical properties on temperature, we derive an analytical model for refractive index variations of the diode side-pumped Nd：YAG laser rod. Then we evaluate this model by numerical solution and our maximum relative errors are 5% and 10% for variations caused by thermo–optical and thermo–mechanical effects; respectively. Finally, we present an analytical model for calculating the focal length of the thermal lens and spherical aberration. This model is evaluated by experimental results.

Experimental study of electro-optical-switched pulsed Nd:YAG laser

We report the specification of a compact and stable side diode-pumped Q-switched pulsed Nd：YAG laser. We ex- perimentally study and compare the performance of the pulsed Nd：YAG laser in the free-running and Q-switched modes at different pulse repetition rates from 1 hz to 100 hz. The laser output energy is stabilized by using a special configu- ration of the optical resonator. In this laser, an unsymmetrical concave-concave resonator is used and this structure helps the mode volume to be nearly fixed when the pulse repetition rate is increased. According to the experimental results in the Q-switched operation, the laser output energy is nearly constant around 70 mJ with an FWhM pulse width of 7 ns at 100 hz. The optical-to-optical conversion efficiency in the Q-switched regime is 17.5%.

Comprehensive analysis of pulsed plasma nitriding preconditions on the fatigue behavior of AISI 304 austenitic stainless steel

This study aims to draw an exact boundary for microstructural and mechanical behaviors in terms of pulsed plasma nitriding *** pulsed plasma nitriding treatment was applied to AISI 304 austenitic stainless steel at different temperatures and *** reveal that nitriding depth increased as process temperature and duration *** nitriding depth remarkably increased at 475℃for 8 h and at 550℃for 4 *** austenite structure was transformed into a metastable nitrogen-oversaturated body-centered tetragonal expanded austenite(S-phase)during low-temperature plasma *** S-phase was converted to CrN precipitation at 475℃for 8 h and at 550℃for 4 *** hardness and fatigue limit increased through plasma nitriding regardless of process *** best surface hardness and fatigue limit were obtained at 550℃for 4 h because of the occurrence of CrN precipitation.

Background:Cyclomyrsinane diterpenes especially those extracted from various Euphorbia species have shown interesting biological properties in recent *** of the high prevalence of breast cancer and the challenges ahead in its treatment,the use of these compounds as potential anti cancer agents seem ***:The aim of the present study was to evaluate the cytotoxic effects of some myrsinane type diterpenoids extracted from Euphorbia sogdiana Popov and determine their induced cell death ***:MTT assay was used to determine the cytotoxicity of six various myrsinane compounds on MCF 7 and 4 T1 breast cancer cell *** umbilical vein endothelial cells were used as the normal cell line *** apoptotic effects of the structure with the most cytotoxic effects were determined using flow cytometry assay in IC50 concentration for 24 h of ***:Compound(6)showed the most cytotoxic effects with IC50 of about 8±4 and 24±4μg/mL for MCF 7 and 4 T1 cell lines,***,the cells treated with 5 and 10μg/mL of compound(6)for 24 h,showed 37 and 55%of apoptotic ***:These surveyed compounds have the potential to be considered as useful anti-breast cancer agents due to the great cytotoxicity and apoptotic effects against these cancer cells and the fact that there was no significant cytotoxicity on normal cells.

Solvent extraction and separation of light rare earth elements (La, Pr and Nd) in the presence of lactic acid as a complexing agent by Cyanex 272 in kerosene and the effect of citric acid,acetic acid and Titriplex Ⅲ as auxiliary agents

At present, the use of rare earth elements（REEs） has become an inevitable necessity in many modern industries. In general, liquid extraction is the best commercial method for extracting REEs due to its ability to control high volumes of liquids with electrical load. With the aim of improving a separation technology that would be superior to the existing extraction systems, the extraction behaviors of La（Ⅲ）,Pr（Ⅲ）, and Nd（Ⅲ） from an hCI medium with Cyanex 272 in the presence of the complexing agent lactic acid（hLac） and auxiliary agents citric acid（h3 Cit）, acetic acid（hAc）, and Titriplex Ⅲ have been *** effect of ph and lactic acid concentration has been examined. The use of lactic acid as a complexing agent leading to a high extraction of REEs with Cyanex 272 at ph = 5 was compared with systems without lactic acid. The results show that the use of acetic acid along with lactic acid leads to an increase in the extraction percentage of LREEs. While use of citric acid and Titriplex Ⅲ reduces the extraction percentage of LREEs. Finally, the presence of Titriplex Ⅲ together with lactic acid could lead to an increase in the separation factor of Pr and Nd.

Analysis of factors affecting diagonal tension and compression capacity of corner joints in furniture frames fabricated with dovetail key

This study was conducted to analyze the effect of joint type, and numbers and types of dovetail keys on diagonal tension and compression performance of corner joints in a furniture frame. Joint members were cut from white fir lumber. Butted and mitered joints were constructed with one and two dovetail key（s） with butterfly and h shapes. Joints were glued by polyvinyl acetate （PVAc） and cynoacrylate （CA）. Compression capacity of joints was higher than diagonal tension. Mitered joints were stronger than butted ones. Butterfly dovetail keys were superior to h shape keys. Double keys performed better than single key. Experimental joints glued with PVAc were stronger than those glued with CA glue and control specimens. In terms of strength, butterfly dovetailed joints were comparable with doweled joints.

Effect of Sulfur Precursor on Dimensions of One-dimensional CdS Nanocrystals

One-dimensional CdS nanocrystals have been prepared by solvothermal method using cadmium acetate as a cadmium precursor, elemental sulfur and Na2S, as a sulfur precursor, and ethylenediamine as a solvent at 150℃ for 5 h. The nanocrystals were characterized by X-ray diffraction （XRD）, scanning electron microscopy （SEM）, transmission electron microscopy （TEM） and UV-Vis absorption spectroscopy. XRD patterns indicate that both Na2S and elemental sulfur as the sulfur precursor result in CdS nanorods with wutzite phase （hexagonal structure）. SEM and TEM images show that diameter of CdS nanorods can be decreased using Na2S instead of elemental sulfur. For the growth of CdS nanorods, a mechanism has been proposed. Uv-Vis absorption of CdS nanorods （sulfur precursor： Na2S） was shown blue shift to 485 nm due to the quantum size effect.

Sulfuric Acid Immobilized on Silica Gel as highly Efficient and heterogeneous Catalyst for the One-Pot Synthesis of 2,4,5-Triaryl-1h-imidazoles

Application of sulfuric acid immobilized on silica gel as an efficient and benign catalyst has been explored in the syn-thesis of 2,4,5-Triaryl-1h-imidazoles via condensation reaction of benzil or benzoin, aldehyde and ammonium acetate. The key advantages of this process are high yields, cost effectiveness of catalyst, easy work-up, purification of products by non-chromatographic method and the reusability of the ***2 catalyst.
