Nanomaterials with high specific surface area and high absorption capacity are attracting increased interest aimed at imparting the desired magnetic *** work is devoted to the study of the effect of heat treatment in a hydrogen atmosphere on the microstructure,adsorption and magnetic properties of heterogeneous FePt/h-BN *** via the polyol process,FePt nanoparticles(NPs)had a sizey distributed over the surface of hexagonal boron nitride(h-BN)*** temperature-activated fcc→fct phase transformation in ultrafine FePt NPs has been well *** NPs act as active centers dissociating H2 molecules and transfer adsorbed hydrogen atoms to the *** functional theory(DFT)calculations also indicate that the h-BN substrate can absorb hydrogen adsorbed on the FePt *** hydrogen circulation in the FePt/h-BN system promoted the fcc→fct phase transformation and allowed to control the magnetic ***/h-BN nanomaterials also exhibited a high adsorption capacity with respect to various organic dyes.

Biophotonics is an emerging multidisciplinary research area, embracing all light-based technologies applied to the life sciences and medicine [1-6]. The expression itself is the combination of the Greek syllables ＂bios＂ standing for life and ＂phos＂ standing for light. Photonics is the technical term for all methodologies and technologies utilizing photons over the whole spectrum from X-ray over the ultraviolet, visible and the infrared to the terahertz region, and its interaction with any matter. Beyond this definition, biophotonics is a scientific discipline of remarkable societal importance. As a part of photonics, it has proved to be an important enabling technology for accelerated progress in medicine and biotechnology. It can do so, because it originated at the interface of the most innovative academic disciplines of the last century, i.e., photonics, biotechnology and nanotechnologies. This field of research brings together scientists from different professions, such as physicists, biologists, pharmacists, medical doctors, etc. To work on common projects, they need to understand the ideas and the techniques of their counterparts.

The Baraba and Kulunda steppes are located in southwestern siberia in an area with an arid continental climate. This paper presents results of the first study of the hypersaline Lake Krasnovishnevoye(Baraba steppe, TDs(total dissolved solids)=297 g/L, pH 7.88). The major chemical, mineralogical and biological features of the lake were studied and compared to those of Lake Malinovoe, a typical saline neutral lake of Kulunda steppe(TDs=396 g/L, pH 7.63). The phytoplankton composition and the culturable diversity of anoxygenic phototrophic bacteria from Lake Krasnovishnevoye correspond to the ones in the Kulunda lakes. Nevertheless, the peculiarities of water composition and regime of Lake Krasnovishnevoye reduce the biodiversity to prokaryotes and unicellular algae.

BACKGROUND Gut dysbiosis is common in *** To study the influence of gut dysbiosis on prognosis in *** The case-control study included 48 in-patients with cirrhosis and 21 healthy *** microbiome was assessed using 16s ribosomal ribonucleic acid gene *** used modified dysbiosis ratio(MDR):[Bacilli(%)+Proteobacteria(%)]/[Clostridia(%)+Bacteroidetes(%)].Patients with MDR more the median made up the group with severe dysbiosis,others did the group with nonsevere *** follow-up period was 4 *** The mortality rate of patients with severe dysbiosis was significantly higher than that of patients with non-severe dysbiosis(54.2%vs 12.5%;P=0.001).The presence of severe dysbiosis was independent risk factors for death[hazard ratio=8.6×(1.9-38.0);P=0.005].The abundance of Enterobacteriaceae(P=0.002),Proteobacteria(P=0.002),and Lactobacillaceae(P=0.025)was increased and the abundance of Firmicutes(P=0.025)and Clostridia(P=0.045)was decreased in the deceased patients compared with the *** deceased patients had a higher MDR value than the survivors[0.131×(0.069-0.234)vs 0.034×(0.009-0.096);P=0.004].If we applied an MDR value of 0.14 as the cutoff point,then it predicted patient death within the next year with a sensitivity of 71.4%and a specificity of 82.9%[area under the curve=0.767×(0.559-0.974)].MDR was higher in patients with cirrhosis than in health controls[0.064×(0.017-0.131)vs 0.005×(0.002-0.007);Ps with decompensated cirrhosis than in patients with compensated cirrhosis[0.106×(0.023-0.211)vs 0.033×(0.012-0.074);P=0.031].MDR correlated negatively with prothrombin(r=-0.295;P=0.042),cholinesterase(r=-0.466;P=0.014)and serum albumin(r=-0.449;P=0.001)level and positively with Child–Turcotte–Pugh scale value(r=0.360;P=0.012).CONCLUsION Gut dysbiosis is associated with a poorer long-term prognosis in cirrhosis.

Life-history theory predicts that in hibemators age of maturation is related positively to body size and negatively to the duration of active season aboveground. yellow souslik is a large-sized ground squirrel with long hibernation, which suggests late maturation. We used four-year field observations of marked individuals to determine the age of maturation in males through analysis of age-dependent variation in body size, mass, androgen status, timing of spring emergence, ranging patterns and social behavior during the mating season. yearling males were smaller, lighter, had lower level of fecal testosterone, emerged later and had smaller home ranges than older males. social activity and the number of females encountered did not differ between age classes. After the second hibernation none of the studied parameters varied with age. Cluster analysis revealed two behavioral tactics：＂active＂ males （adults only） emerged earlier, ranged more widely, initiated more contacts, encountered more females and were heavier than ＂passive＂ males （both yearling and adult）. Thus, males of s. fulvus reached adult size and matured after two hibernations, which is relatively fast for such a big species with short active period. Indirect evidence for copulations and high variation among yearlings in all parameters suggest that some of them might successfully compete with adults. Active tactic of wandering and searching for females is energetically costly, and probably only adult males in good physical condition can afford it, whereas passive tactic of residing is energy saving and good for adults in poor condition and for yearlings that are continuing to grow.

New viral infections,due to their rapid spread,lack of effective antiviral drugs and vaccines,kill millions of people every *** global pandemic sARs-CoV-2 in 2019-2021 has shown that new strains of viruses can widespread very quickly,causing disease and death,with significant socio-economic ***,the search for new methods of combating different pathogenic viruses is an urgent task,and strategies based on nanoparticles are of significant *** work demonstrates the antiviral adsorption(virucidal)efficacy of nanoparticles of porous silicon(Psi NPs)against various enveloped and non-enveloped pathogenic human viruses,such as Influenza A virus,Poliovirus,Human immunodeficiency virus,West Nile virus,and Hepatitis *** NPs sized 60 nm with the average pore diameter of 2 nm and specific surface area of 200 m^(2)/g were obtained by ball-milling of electrochemically-etched microporous silicon *** interaction with Psi NPs,a strong suppression of the infectious activity of the virus-contaminated fluid was observed,which was manifested in a decrease in the infectious titer of all studied types of viruses by approximately 104 times,and corresponded to an inactivation of 99.99%viruses in *** sorption capacity of Psi NPs is possible due to their microporous structure and huge specific surface area,which ensures efficient capture of virions,as confirmed by ELIsA analysis,dynamic light scattering measurements and transmission electron microscopy *** results obtained indicate the great potential of using Psi NPs as universal viral sorbents and disinfectants for the detection and treatment of viral diseases.

While transition-metal oxides such as α-MoO_(3)provide high capacity,their use is limited by modest electronic conductivity and electrochemical instability in aqueous ***-dimensional(2D)MXenes,offer metallic conductivity,but their capacitance is limited in aqueous *** of partially solvated cations into Ti_(3)C_(2)MXene from lithium-based water-in-salt(WIs)electrolytes enables charge storage at positive potentials,allowing a wider potential window and higher ***,we demonstrate that α-MoO_(3)/Ti_(3)C_(2)hybrids combine the high capacity of α-MoO_(3)and conductivity of Ti_(3)C_(2)in WIs(19.8 m LiCI)electrolyte in a wide1.8 V voltage *** voltammograms reveal multiple redox peaks from α-MoO_(3)in addition to the well-separated peaks of Ti_(3)C_(2)in the hybrid *** leads to a higher specific charge and a higher rate capability compared to a carbon and binder containing α-MoO_(3)*** results demonstrate that the addition of MXene to less conductive oxides eliminates the need for conductive carbon additives and binders,leads to a larger amount of charge stored,and increases redox capacity at higher *** addition,MXene encapsulated α-MoO_(3)showed improved electrochemical stability,which was attributed to the suppressed dissolution of α-MoO_(3).The work suggests that oxide/MXene hybrids are promising for energy storage.
