A new species of the sisorid catfish genus exostoma Blyth, 1860 was collected from two hill-stream tributaries of the Nujiang （Salween River） drainage in Gaoligong Mountain, south-western Yunnan Province, China from 2003 to 2006 and from two tributaries of the Salween River in Cangyuan County Lingcang Prefecture, Yunnan Province, China （in 2007） and in Yongde County, Lingcang Prefecture, Yunnan Province, China （in 2015）. exostoma gaoligongense sp. nov. is the 10th species of the genus and is most similar to e. vinciguerrae in morphology but can be distinguished by pelvic fin reaching anus vs. not reaching; maxillary barbels just reaching or slightly surpassing pectoral-fin origin vs. surpassing pectoral-fin origin or even reaching posterior end of gill membrane; abdominal vertebrae 23-25 vs. 25-27; length of dorsal fin/dorsal to adipose distance 90.3%-287.0% vs. 59.2-85.7. A key to exostoma spp. is provided.

Rationale and Objectives: Cystic lung disease may be accurately diagnosed by imaging interpretation of specialist radiologists, without other information. We hypothesized that with minimal training non-specialists could perform similarly to specialist physicians in the diagnosis of cystic lung disease. Methods: 72 cystic lung disease cases and 25 cystic lung disease mimics were obtained from three sources: 1) a prospective acquired diffuse lung disease registry, 2) a retrospective search of medical records and 3) teaching files. Cases were anonymized, randomized and interpreted by 7 diffuse lung disease specialists and 15 non-specialist radiologists and pulmonologists. Clinical information other than age and sex was not provided. Prior to interpretation, non-specialists viewed a short PDF training document explaining cystic lung disease interpretation. Results: Correct first choice diagnosis of 85%-88% may be achieved by high-performing specialist readers and 71%-80% by non-specialists and lower-performing specialists, with mean accuracies in the diagnosis of LAM (91%, p Conclusion: With specific but limited training, non-specialist physicians can diagnose cystic lung diseases from CT appearance alone with similar accuracy to specialists, correctly identifying approximately 75% of cases.

A slightly prompt critical nuclear reactor would increase the neutron flux exponentially at a high rate causing the reactor to become uncontrollable, however due to the delayed neutrons, it is possible to leave the reactor in a subcritical state as far as only prompt neutrons are concerned and to also sustain the chain reaction when it is going to die out. The delay neutron flux spectrum of the compact core of the Ghana’s miniature neutron source reactor (MNSR) was studied using the Monte Carlo method. 20,484 energy groups combined for all three categories of the energy distribution, thermal, slowing down and fast regions were modeled to create small energy bins. The moderator, the inner irradiation channels, the annulus beryllium reflector and the outer irradiation channels were the regions monitored. The delay thermal neutrons recorded its highest flux in the inner irradiation channel with an average flux of (4.0127 0.0076) × 1008 n/cm2?s, followed by the outer irradiation channel with an average flux of (2.4524 0.0049) × 1008 n/cm2?s. The beryllium reflector recorded the lowest flux in the thermal region. These values of the thermal energy range occurred in the energy range (0 – 0.625× 10 – 07) MeV. The inner irradiation channel again recorded the highest average flux of (1.2050 ± 0.0501) × 1007 n/cm2?s at the slowing down region in the energy range (0.821 – 6.94) MeV. The outer irradiation channel recorded the lowest flux in this region. In the fast energy region, (6.96 – 20) MeV, the core, where the moderator is found, the same trend was observed with the inner irradiation channel recording the highest flux at an average flux of (2.0647 ± 0.3260) × 1006 n/cm2?s .The outer irradiation channel recorded the second highest flux while the annulus beryllium reflector recorded very low flux in this region. The final k-effective contribution from only delay neutrons is 0.00834 with the delay neutron fraction being 0.01357 ± 0.00049, hence the Ghana MNSR has good safety

学术界关于蝙蝠飞行和回声定位能力的演化顺序一直存在争议.由于蝙蝠普遍具有飞行和回声定位能力,其祖先常被认为是夜行性食虫动物;也有研究认为,蝙蝠祖先是昼行性食果动物,并推测飞行在回声定位能力之前获得.目前缺乏来自化石的直接证据,但通过研究与食性相关基因的功能演化,可以获得新的线索.甜味觉与动物食性密切相关,在现生蝙蝠中,只有食果蝙蝠能够感知天然糖类,而食虫蝙蝠都丢失了该能力.为了解析蝙蝠祖先的食性演化历史及其在蝙蝠飞行和回声定位演化中的意义,我们重建并合成了蝙蝠主要祖先谱系的甜味受体基因,检测它们对天然糖类的感知能力.结果表明,翼手目、阴翼手亚目和狐蝠科的祖先甜味受体能够感知天然糖类,而阳翼手亚目和该亚目内其它两个祖先甜味受体基因均不能感知.本研究表明,现生蝙蝠的共同祖先能够感知天然糖类,根据蝙蝠的甜味觉与食性的关系,推测蝙蝠祖先为杂食性.本研究支持蝙蝠飞行能力早于回声定位能力获得的假说,即早期蝙蝠在没有回声定位的情况下可以在飞行中取食水果和昆虫.

In order to explore the methods to prepare high-strength quasicrystal-reinforced magnesium alloys, the flakes of rapidly solidified Mg-6.4Zn-1.1 Y magnesium alloy with a thickness of 50-60μm were obtained by a melt spinning single-roller device, and the flakes were then processed into rods by reciprocating extrusion and direct extrusion. The microstructure of the alloy was analyzed by optical microscope and SeM, and the constituent phases were identified by XRD. Phase transformation and its onset temperature were determined by differential thermal analyzer （DTA）. The analysis result shows that rapid solidification for *** alloy can inhibit the eutectic reactions, broaden the solid solubility of Zn in α-Mg solute solution, and impede the formation of Mg3 Y2Zn3 and MgZn2 compounds, and thus help the icosahedral Mg3 YZn6 quasicrystal formed directly from the melt. The microstructure of the flakes consists of the α-Mg solid solution and icosahedral Mg3 YZn6 quasicrystal. Dense rods can be made from the flakes by two-pass reciprocating extrusion and direct extrusion. The interfaces between flakes in the rods can be welded and jointed perfectly. During the reciprocating extrusion and direct extrusion process, more Mg3 YZn6 compounds are precipitated and distributed uniformly, whereas the rods possess fine microstructures inherited from rapidly solidified flakes. The rods contain only two phases： α- magnesium solid solution as matrix and fine icosahedral Mg3 YZn6 quasicrystal which disperses uniformly in the matrix.

HPLC-PDA and LC-tandem MS methods have been developed and validated for the simultaneous analyses of indolequinazoline-(IQAs)and quinolone alkaloids(QAs)in a herbal drug,“evodiae Fructus”.The bioactive marker compounds,evodiamine(1),rutaecarpine(2)and quinolone alkaloids were simultaneously determined in the 20 drug specimens that collected from Korea and China markets..HPLC analysis was performed on a reversed-phase phenyl-C6 column using solvent system of MeOH(A):20mM NH4OAc(B):AcCN(C)using gradient flow detecting at UV ***-eSI-MS/MS analysis was accomplished by multiple reaction monitoring(MRM)method after separation on a minibore phenyl-C6 column using 74% AcCN(5mM NHAc). Contents of evodiamine(1)and rutaecarpine(2)were in the range between 0.12-1.14% and 0.07-1.02%, respectively,which together with other compounds,showed variable profiles depending on specimens. Clustering analysis was performed as an evaluating mean of the herbal *** methods would be useful as a crucial quality control of the herbal drug or the related products.

A protocol for obtaining digital images from natural porous media with a wide range of pore sizes, intended for fractal studies of the porosity, is proposed. Soil porosity is used as para- digm of complex natural porous media in this study. The use of several imaging devices and fluores- cent compounds to enhance the contrast between the solid and the pore phase is tested. Finally a protocol is reached using a photo camera and a confocal microscope. It is the first time that confocal microscopy is used for this purpose. Artificial porous images are created through random Sierpinski carpet fractals and the statistical information of real soil images. These ground truth images are used in an objective comparison of automatic segmentation algorithms for the obtained images. A statistical classification on the performance of several automatic segmentation algorithms for this tv^e of images is reached.

Plastome characteristics of Cannabaceae

Cannabaceae is an economically important family that includes ten genera and ca. 117 accepted *** explore the structure and size variation of their plastomes, we sequenced ten plastomes representing all ten genera of Cannabaceae. each plastome possessed the typical angiosperm quadripartite structure and contained a total of 128 genes. The Inverted Repeat(IR) regions in five plastomes had experienced small expansions(330 e983 bp) into the Large Single-Copy(LSC) region. The plastome of Chaetachme aristata has experienced a 942-bp IR contraction and lost rpl22 and rps19 in its IRs. The substitution rates of rps19 and rpl22 decreased after they shifted from the LSC to IR. A 270-bp inversion was detected in the Parasponia rugosa plastome, which might have been mediated by 18-bp inverted repeats. Repeat sequences, simple sequence repeats, and nucleotide substitution rates varied among these *** markers with more than 13% variable sites and 5% parsimony-informative sites were identified, which may be useful for further phylogenetic analysis and species identification. Our results show strong support for a sister relationship between Gironniera and Lozanell(BS ? 100). Celtis, CannabisHumulus, Chaetachme-Pteroceltis, and Trema-Parasponia formed a strongly supported clade, and their relationships were well resolved with strong support(BS ? 100). The availability of these ten plastomes provides valuable genetic information for accurately identifying species, clarifying taxonomy and reconstructing the intergeneric phylogeny of Cannabaceae.
