The insect order Thysanoptera is used as an indicator of the vulnerability to foreign insect invasions of New Caledonian ecosystems—both the unique natural systems, and the agricultural and horticultural systems on which the economy is dependent. A total of 103 species in 67 genera of Thysanoptera are here listed from New Caledonia, in contrast to the 68 species in 44 genera that were recorded 23 years ago. Of the 103 species, 22 are not known from anywhere else in the world. Thus, up to 80% of these insect species have arrived in New Caledonia from other countries, with a very high proportion likely to have been introduced through modern trading patterns, despite vigorous efforts by quarantine services.

Current source inverter(CSI)is a class of power electronic converters that,thanks to the inherent boost capability and ease of control,is investigated for grid-tied photovoltaic power conversion *** CSI and CSI7 topologies are here analyzed and compared with two kind of space vector modulation strategies mainly in terms of ground leakage current both in simulations and ***,THD of the injected grid current and the computation of conduction and switching semiconductor power losses are also carried out in numerical *** topology comparison is carried out with the use of a different number of PV modules,to analyze the robustness of the topologies to different size of the PV *** and experimental results show that the CSI7 topology,with respect to conventional CSI,allows to strongly reduce ground leakage current,phase current THD and semicondutor power losses,at the price of an additional power device.

BACKgROUND The decision to administer adjuvant chemotherapy to patients with local stage depends on specific high-risk features that are T4 tumor stage,presence of perineural invasion,lymphovascular invasion,poorly differentiated tumor histology,inadequate lymph node sampling(fewer than 12 lymph nodes),and evidence of tumor perforation or ***-stroma ratio,tumor infiltrating lymphocytes(TIL),Crohn-like reaction(CLR),desmoid reaction,poorly differentiated clusters(PDC)are new pathological markers that are being *** To examine the relationship between new pathological markers and defined high MeTHODS We evaluated 155 patients with the diagnosis stage I and II colorectal cancer between the years 2007 and 2021 who were treated at Trakya University Hospital,Department of Medical *** divided those with and without high-risk factors into two *** examined the relationship of new pathological markers with these groups and with pathological markers in risk *** There was no statistically significant correlation between presence of TIL,presence of PDC,presence of tumor budding,presence of CLR,presence of desmoid reaction and low and high-risk groups according to the degree of those with PDC(P=0.82,P=0.51,P=0.77,P=0.37,P=0.83,respectively).In addition,no statistically significant correlation was found between the tumor-stroma ratio and low and high risk groups(P=0.80).We found a statistically significant correlation between the presence of PDC and the presence of PDC grade 3 and T stage(P=0.001,P=0.001,respectively).It was determined that the presence of PDC and the frequency of grade 3 PDC increased with the advanced T *** No relationship was found between the presence of new pathological markers and high-low risk *** we examined the relationship between new and old pathological markers,only the frequency of detection of PDC and PDC grade 3 was found to be correlated with advanced T stage.

Building on the pioneering work of Jean-Marie Andre and working in the laboratory he founded, the authors have developed a code called FT-1D to make Hartree-Fock electronic structure computations for stereoregular polymers using ewald-type con- vergence acceleration methods. That code also takes full advantage of all line-group symmetries to calculate only the minimal set of two-electron integrals and to optimize the computation of the Fock matrix. The present communication reports a bench- mark study of the FT-1D code using polytetrafluoroethylene （PTFe） as a test case. Our results not only confirm the algorith- mic correctness of the code through agreement with other studies where they are applicable, but also show that the use of con- vergence acceleration enables accurate results to be obtained in situations where other widely-used codes （e.g., PLH and Crys- tal） fail. It is also found that full attention to the line-group symmetry of the PTFe polymer leads to an increase of between one and two orders of magnitude in the speed of computation. The new code can therefore be viewed as extending the range of electronic-structure computations for stereoregular polymers beyond the present scope of the successful and valuable code Crystal.

In this article,we approximate the solution of high order linear Fredholm integro-differential equations with a variable coefficient under the initial-boundary conditions by Bell *** collocation points and treating the solution as a linear combination of Bell polynomials,the problem is reduced to linear system of equations whose unknown variables are Bell *** solution to this algebraic system determines the approximate *** estimation of approximate solution is *** examples are provided to illustrate the performance of the *** numerical results are compared with the collocation method based on Legendre polynomials and the other two methods based on Taylor *** is observed that the method is better than Legendre collocation method and as accurate as the methods involving Taylor polynomials.

Differences in reproductive endocrinology between Asian men and Caucasian men——a literature review

This review provides an overview of the literature on aspects of reproductive endocrinology wherein Asian menmay differ from Caucasian, notably, prostatic nioplasm and the sensivity to pharmacological regimens of male contra-ception. Both genetic and environmental factors, such as nutrition, might be relevant. Asian men residing in Asia seemto be relatively protected from clinical prostatic nioplasm while the prevalence of preclinical prostatic nioplasm is notdifferent. Migration to an area with a higher prevalence reduces this difference but does not undo it. With regard toprostatic nioplasm the following factors have been considered as relevant in Asian men: 1) a reduction in 5α-reductaselevel, 2) decreased levels of androgenic ketosteroid precursors of 5α-reduced androgen metabolites, 3) the decreasedpresence of a P53 mutation, 4) a higher CAg-repeat length of the androgen receptor, 5) a possible higher level ofphysical activity, 6) differences in sexual activity. Furthermore, Asian men respond to a higher degree with azoosper-mia in response to contraceptive steroids. Possible explanations offered for the more pronounced response to contracep-tive steroids are: 1) differences in testicular structure and decreased spermatogenic potential, 2) an earlier and moremarked suppression in LH secretion by exogenous androgens. The differences may be due to genetical and/or environ-mental factors influencing the peripheral testosterone metabolism. Dietary factors such as the higher intake of phytoe-strogens in Asians might exert effects on 5α-reductase activity and/or on sex hormone binding globulin (SHBg) levels,thus having an impact on the biological efficay of circulating androgens. The ability to precisely estimate the void fraction of multiphase flow in a pipe is very important in the petroleum industry. In this paper, an approach based on our previous works is proposed for predicting the void fraction independent of flow regime and liquid phase density changes in gas–liquid two-phase flows. Implemented technique is a combination of dual modality densitometry and multi-beam gamma-ray attenuation techniques. The detection system is comprised of a single energy fan beam,two transmission detectors, and one scattering detector. In this work, artificial neural network(ANN) was also implemented to predict the void fraction percentage independent of the flow regime and liquid phase density changes. Registered counts in three detectors and void fraction percentage were utilized as the inputs and output of ANN, respectively. By applying the proposed methodology, the void fraction was estimated with a mean relative error of less than just 1.2480%.

Potential of termite-based biomass pre-treatment strategies for use in bioethanol production

When considering the current state of the biorefinery industry, it is readily apparent that industrial cellulose and hemicellulose digestion processes are relatively advanced, whereas enzymatic pre-treatment strategies for biomass delignification and cellulose solubilization are not well developed. The need for efficient biomass pre-treatment strategies presents a significant opportunity for researchers studying lignocellulose digestion in termites and other insects. With an emphasis on industrial biomass pre-treatment, this review provides an overview of：（i） industrial biorefining operations （feedstocks, processing, and economics）; （ii） recent findings from termite research that have revealed candidate enzymes; and （iii） research needs and opportunities for consideration by entomologists working in this area. With respect to research findings, recently identified candidate lignases （laccases, catalases, peroxidases, esterases）, other potentially important detoxification enzymes （cytochrome P450, superoxide dismutase）, and phenolic acid esterases （carboxylesterases） that may assist in hemicellulose solubilization are overviewed. Regarding research needs and opportunities, several approaches for identification of candidate pre-treatment enzymes from upstream, symbiont-free gut regions are also described.

An experimental investigation were performed on the effect of the impulse electron-beam irradiation upon microstruc-ture of the surface layer and on wear resistance of a cutting tool for sintered TiC/NiCr cermet. The results showed that the surface electron-beam treatment of the TiC/NiCr cermet is an efficient method for investigating the mi-crostructure and phase composition in the surface layer of the powder composite and there are optimal regimes of electron-beam treatment, which ensure a substantial increase in the resistance of the cermet to wear during cutting of metals.
