In-situ study of the microstructure evolution during tension of a Mg-Y-Zn-Al alloy processed by rapidly solidified ribbon consolidation technique

Mg-Y-Zn-Al alloys processed by rapidly solidified ribbon consolidation(RSRC)technique exhibit an exceptional mechanical performance indicating promising application *** material has a bimodal microstructure consisting of fine recrystallized and coarse non-recrystallized grains with solute-rich stacking faults forming cluster arranged layers(CALs)and nanoplates(CAnaPs),or complete long period stacking ordered(LPSO)*** order to reveal the deformation mechanisms,in-situ synchrotron X-ray diffraction line profile analysis was employed for a detailed study of the dislocation arrangement created during tension in Mg-0.9%Zn-2.05%Y-0.15%Al(at%)*** uncovering the effect of the initial microstructure on the mechanical performance,additional samples were obtained by annealing of the as-consolidated specimen at 300 and 400℃ for 2 *** heat treatment at 300℃ had no significant effect on the initial microstructure,its evolution during tension and,thus,the overall deformation behavior under tensile *** the other hand,annealing at 400℃ resulted in a significant increase of the recrystallized grains fraction and a decrease of the dislocation density,leading to only minor degradation of the mechanical *** maximum dislocation density at the failure of the samples corresponding to the plastic strain of 10-25% was estimated to be about 16-20×10^(14)m^(-2).The diffraction profile analysis indicated that most dislocations formed during tension were of non-basal and pyramidal types,what was also in agreement with the Schmid factor values revealed independently from orientation *** was also shown that the dislocation-induced Taylor hardening was much lower below the plastic strain of 3% than above this value,which was explained by a model of the interaction between prismatic dislocations and CAnaPs/LPSO plates.

new reagents for immunofluorescence analysis of carbazole series containing fluorinated β-dicarbonyl fragments and carboxylic substituent groups separated by spacers of different lengths from the light-gathering carbazole scaffold have been developed. The markers in complex with eu3+ ions possess stability in the aqueous phase, intense and prolonged luminescence (τ 550 - 570 μs) with characteristic emission maxima in the region of 615 nm and excitation wavelengths in the region of 380 - 390 nm, which distinguishes them from most of the analogs used. In the study of marker conjugation with streptavidin, a reagent containing 4 - 5 europium labeling complexes based on spacer-containing carbazole tetraketone was obtained. The marker-doped silicate nanoparticles exhibit intense and long-lived luminescence in the characteristic region.

effects of site preparation methods on soil physical properties and outplanting success of coniferous seedlings in boreal forests

This study assessed the effect of patch scarification and mounding on the physical properties of the root layer and the success of tree planting in various types of *** study was conducted on 12 forest sites in taiga forests of the european part of Russia.A total of 54 plots were set up to assess seedling survival;root collar diameter,height,and heigh increment were measured for 240 seedlings to assess *** the rooting layer,240 soil samples were taken to determine physical *** study showed that soil treatment methods had no effect on bulk density and total porosity in Cladina ***,reduced soil moisture was noted,particularly in mounds,resulting in increased *** Myrtillus sites,there were increased bulk density,reduced soil moisture,and total porosity in the *** treatment in Polytrichum sites resulted in reduced soil moisture and increased aeration *** the Myrtillus and Polytrichum sites,patch scarification had no effects on physical *** Polytrichum sites,survival rates,heights,and heigh increments of bareroot norway spruce seedlings in mounds were higher than in patches;however,the same did not apply to *** Cladina and Myrtillus sites,there was no difference in growth for bareroot and containerised seedlings with different soil *** conditions and soil types should be considered when applying different soil treatment methods to ensure high survival rates and successful seedling growth.

The myelin sheath is a lipoprotein-rich,multilayered structure capable of increasing conduction velocity in central and peripheral myelinated nerve *** to the complex structure and composition of myelin,various histological techniques have been developed over the centuries to evaluate myelin under normal,pathological or experimental ***,methods to assess myelin integrity or content are key tools in both clinical diagnosis and neuroscience *** this review,we provide an updated summary of the composition and structure of the myelin sheath and discuss some histological procedures,from tissue fixation and processing techniques to the most used and practical myelin histological staining *** the lipoprotein nature of myelin,the main features and technical details of the different available methods that can be used to evaluate the lipid or protein components of myelin are described,as well as the precise ultrastructural techniques.

Temporomandibular disorders (TMd) negatively affect quality of life, causing pain and restricted jaw movements. This study evaluates the effectiveness of Transcutaneous electrical nerve Stimulation (TenS) on TMd patients before orthodontic treatment at the Juarez Autonomous University of Tabasco. A quantitative, quasi-experimental study was conducted with 30 patients who met the inclusion criteria: aged 18 to 65 years, with TMJ pain symptoms, diagnosed with temporomandibular disorders using the Helkimo index, and who had provided informed consent for the study. The range of mandibular movement and the visual Analog Scale (vAS) were measured to record values before therapy. The electrodes of the TenS therapy were positioned on both sides of the jaw in the preauricular area and the masseter muscle, the therapy was administered for 40 minutes, utilizing a frequency of 2 - 4 Hz and a pulse duration of 300 microseconds. following this, the range of mandibular movement and the vAS were reassessed to evaluate the outcomes., significantly improved maximum mouth opening (37.7 ± 6.4 mm to 44.6 ± 5.88 mm), right laterality (3.86 ± 1.57 mm to 5.43 ± 1.21 mm), left laterality (3.13 ± 1.63 mm to 4.53 ± 1.61 mm), protrusion (4.01 ± 1.7 mm to 5.36 ± 1.32 mm), and pain perception (4.56 ± 2.045 to 2.03 ± 1.5) (P enS therapy enhances mandibular movement and reduces pain, making it a well-tolerated, non-invasive complementary treatment for TMd.

Blood Pressure Profile and Glycemic Control of Type 2 diabetics and Hypertensives at the Yalgado Ouedraogo University Hospital: A Review of 116 Cases

Objective: The association hypertension and diabetes is important. The two pathologies may influence each other. The aim was to study the correlation between glycemic control and blood pressure control and to determine the factors associated with blood pressure control. Methodology: This was a descriptive cross-sectional study with an analytical focus over 7 months. Patients were recruited as outpatients and all underwent ambulatory blood pressure measure, glycated hemoglobin and creatinine measurements, and assessment of compliance with treatment. Results: during this period 116 patients were collected. The predominance was female 69%. The mean age of the patients was 62 ± 7 years with a peak between 60 and 70 years. The average age of hypertension was 12 years and that of diabetes 6 1/2 years. The most frequently associated cardiovascular risk factor was a sedentary lifestyle (71.5%) after age. 57.8% of patients were not controlled at the office, with a predominance of systolic hypertension (58.2%). 61.6% of patients were controlled by ambulatory blood pressure measure, a rate of 47.8% of white coat hypertension. Glycemic control was observed in 42.2% of cases and 87% of patients had good renal function (glomerular filter rate ≥ 60 ml/mn). Therapeutic compliance was good in 53.4% of cases and dual therapy was the most used therapeutic modality 44.8% (52 patients) followed by triple therapy. The factors associated with poor blood pressure control were glycemic imbalance, non-compliance and monotherapy. dual therapy had a protective effect. Conclusion: The association of hypertension and type 2 diabetes is frequent. The risk of occurrence increases with age. Ambulatory blood pressure measure is the best method to assess blood pressure control. Optimization of blood pressure control should also include optimization of glycemic control.

does a large prostate size, small lesion volume, or long needle distance from the probe to the lesion reduce magnetic resonance imaging-targeted cancer detection?

BackgroundWe aimed to evaluate whether large prostate size, small lesion volume, or long lesion distance from the ultrasound probe tip would decrease cancer detection in transrectal magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)-targeted *** and methodsPatients who underwent MRI-targeted biopsy at our institution between May 2017 and August 2019 were enrolled in a prospective database. Three to 5 cores were obtained from >= 2 prostate imaging reporting and data system v2 lesions. A multivariable model was created that included needle distance to the lesion, prostate specific antigen, prostate imaging reporting and data system, lesion volume, and prostate *** total of 377 patients with 533 lesions underwent a biopsy during the study period. A total of 233 (44%) lesions were positive for prostate cancer, and 173 (32%) lesions had clinically significant prostate cancer. The mean needle distance to the lesion was 11.7 mm (interquartile range, 7.6-15.5 mm). The likelihood of obtaining a positive core on biopsy decreased as the distance from the ultrasound probe increased for all prostate cancers and clinically significant prostate cancer (p = 0.018 and p = 0.004, respectively). every 10 mm from the rectum, there was an 8%-10% decrease in the rate of cancer detection. Similarly, as the prostate volume increased, the odds of obtaining a positive core also decreased (p = 0.039). There was no significant association between the lesion size and amount of cancer obtained on *** data showed that transrectal MRI-targeted biopsy cancer detection modestly decreased the lesion from the ultrasound probe and with a large prostate volume but could not prove that lesion volume was a significant predictor of the amount of cancer detected.
