Photoluminescence properties of eu3+-doped MgAl2O4 nanoparticles in various surrounding media

eu3+-doped MgAl2O4 nanoparticles were prepared by modified Pechini method.X-ray diffraction analysis shows pure tetragonal spinel phase without any *** average size of synthesized nanoparticles was determined to be about 50-60 nm using scanning electron microscopy and static light scattering *** and excitation spectra as well as lifetimes of MgAl2O4:eu3+ nanophosphors were explored in surrounding media with different refractive *** medium does not affect luminescence bands position,whereas 5D0 lifetime monotonically decreases along with increase of medium refractive *** of surrounding media on radiative and nonradiative decay rates,which were calculated using 4f-4f intensity theory,was studied and *** factor of prepared nanoparticles is defined using both radiative and observed lifetimes.

The Fe_(n)GeTe_(2) systems are recently discovered two-dimensional van-der-Waals materials,exhibiting magnetism at room *** sub-systems belonging to Fe_(n)GeTe_(2) class are special because they show site-dependent magnetic *** focus on the critical evaluation of magnetic properties and electron correlation effects in Fe_(n)GeTe_(2)(n=3,4,5)(FGT)systems performing first-principles *** different ab initio approaches have been used primarily,viz.,(i)standard density functional theory(GGA),(ii)incorporating static electron correlation(GGA+U)and(iii)inclusion of dynamic electron correlation effect(GGA+DMFT).Our results show that GGA+DMFT is the more accurate technique to correctly reproduce the magnetic interactions,experimentally observed transition temperatures and electronic *** inaccurate values of magnetic moments,exchange interactions obtained from GGA+U make this method inapplicable for the FGT *** determination of magnetic properties for this class of materials is important since they are promising candidates for spin transport and spintronic applications at room temperature.

The N-terminal eF-hand calcium-binding proteins 1–3(NeCAB1–3) constitute a family of predominantly neuronal proteins characterized by the presence of at least one eF-hand calcium-binding domain and a functionally less well characterized C-terminal antibiotic biosynthesis monooxygenase domain. All three family members were initially discovered due to their interactions with other proteins. NeCAB1 associates with synaptotagmin-1, a critical neuronal protein involved in membrane trafficking and synaptic vesicle exocytosis. NeCAB2 interacts with predominantly striatal G-protein-coupled receptors, while NeCAB3 partners with amyloid-β A4 precursor protein-binding family A members 2 and 3, key regulators of amyloid-β production. This demonstrates the capacity of the family for interactions with various classes of proteins. NeCAB proteins exhibit distinct subcellular localizations: NeCAB1 is found in the nucleus and cytosol, NeCAB2 resides in endosomes and the plasma membrane, and NeCAB3 is present in the endoplasmic reticulum and Golgi apparatus. The antibiotic biosynthesis monooxygenase domain, an evolutionarily ancient component, is akin to atypical heme oxygenases in prokaryotes but is not wellcharacterized in vertebrates. Prokaryotic antibiotic biosynthesis monooxygenase domains typically form dimers, suggesting that calcium-mediated conformational changes in NeCAB proteins may induce antibiotic biosynthesis monooxygenase domain dimerization, potentially activating some enzymatic properties. However, the substrate for this enzymatic activity remains uncertain. Alternatively, calcium-mediated conformational changes might influence protein interactions or the subcellular localization of NeCAB proteins by controlling the availability of protein–protein interaction domains situated between the eF hands and the antibiotic biosynthesis monooxygenase domain. The chemical properties and biological activities of soils were studied in the vicinity of the medieval settlement Podkumskoe-3 in the Kislovodsk basin(Northern Caucasus, Russia). Between the 5 th and 8 th centuries this area was ploughed regularly, but it was then abandoned up to the present day. It has been established that past human activity leads to soil undergoing significant transformations in terms of microbial communities and enzyme activity, and that such changes are maintained over long periods. Long-term manuring in the middle of the first millennium AD led to an increase in organic carbon content and the accumulation of nitrate nitrogen. Soils of ancient abandoned fields are associated with increases in microbial biomass, number of saprotrophic bacteria, urease activity, and fungal mycelium biomass. The observed changes in the microbiological and biochemical properties of soil were conditioned by secondary anthropogenically induced succession after the abandonment of arable lands.

LaxHf1-xOy thin films with various concentrations of La, homogeneous and nonhomogeneous distributions of elements throughout the films thickness was purposefully grown by CVD. The composition of the films and their chemical structures were characterized throughout the films thickness by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy （XPS） and energy-dispersive X-ray spectrometry （eDXA）. A full picture of the film crystallinity was provided by the combination of grazing incidence X-ray diffraction （GIXRD） synchrotron radiation （SR） and high resolution transmission electron microscopy （HR TeM）. It was shown that La acted as ＂molar volume modulator＂ and stabilized the nonequilibrium at T≤1300 ℃ cubic phases. The samples with La content in range of 7 at.%〈CLa〈22 at.% were materials with fluorite-type （Fm-3m） structure. The pyroehlore phase formation was observed at -18 at.% La content. The correlation between the La-doped content and the films microstructure was revealed.

Liposarcoma is one of the most common soft tissue sarcomas,however,its occurrence rate is still rare compared to other *** to its rarity,in vitro experiments are an essential approach to elucidate liposarcoma *** cell culture-based research(2D cell culture)is still playing a pivotal role,while several shortcomings have been recently under *** vivo,mouse models are usually adopted for pre-clinical analyses with expectations to overcome the issues of 2D cell ***,they do not fully recapitulate human dedifferentiated liposarcoma(DDLPS)***,three-dimensional(3D)culture systems have been the recent research focus in the cell biology field with the expectation to overcome at the same time the disadvantages of 2D cell culture and in vivo animal models and fill in the gap between *** the liposarcoma rarity,we believe that 3D cell culture techniques,including 3D cell cultures/co-cultures,and Patient-Derived tumor Organoids(PDOs),represent a promising approach to facilitate liposarcoma investigation and elucidate its molecular mechanisms and effective therapy *** this review,we first provide a general overview of 3D cell cultures compared to 2D cell *** then focus on one of the recent 3D cell culture applications,Patient-Derived Organoids(PDOs),summarizing and discussing several PDO ***,we discuss the current and future applications of PDOs to sarcoma,particularly in the field of liposarcoma.

Bound states in the continuum （BICs） are perfectly localized resonances despite embedding in the continuum ***,an isolated BIC is very sensitive to the structure ***,we report merging acoustic BICs in a single open resonator,robust against the structure *** find that both symmetry-protected BIC and Friedrich-Wintgen BIC are sustained in a single coupled waveguide-resonator *** varying the height and length of the resonator,these two BICs move toward each other and merge into a single one at a critical *** to an individual BIC,the merged BIC is robust against fabrication error because its Q-factor is proportional to ΔL-4,whereΔL embodies the structure *** essence of this extraordinary phenomenon is perfectly explained by the two-and three-level approximations of the effective nonHermitian ***,we present direct experimental demonstrations of the moving and merging of BICs in a coupled 3D waveguide-resonator,which are evidenced by the vanishing of the linewidth of Fano resonance in the transmission *** results may find exciting applications in designing high-quality acoustic sources,sensors and filters.

experimental beneficiation processes of quartz concentrate in arc plasma torches of two different types and electric powers were studied. An emission scanning electron microscope and a universal laser analyzer were used to investigate the structures as well as the size distributions of grains and microparticles. Inductively coupled plasma–mass spectrometry was used to determine the chemical compositions of nonstructural solid-phase mineral impurities in quartz concentrate. Results related to the modified grains' structure and size distribution, the compositions of impurities, and the gas–liquid inclusions in the quartz concentrate were investigated. The total impurities concentrations in the processed grains were found to satisfy the IOTA-STD standard(industry standard for grading high quality fused quartz products). The optimal condition(i.e., the optimal specific plasma enthalpy) for the production of high-purity quartz in arc plasma torches was found to depend on the geological-genetic type and the structural and textural features(i.e., chemical composition and gas–liquid inclusions) of the quartz concentrate.
