To verify the precision and accuracy of transglutaminase antibodies (TGA) assays across Mediterranean countries. MeTHODSThis study involved 8 referral centres for celiac disease (CD) in 7 Mediterranean countries. A central laboratory prepared 8 kits of 7 blinded and randomized serum samples, with a titrated amount of Human TGA IgA. each sample was analysed three times on three different days, with each centre running a total of 21 tests. The results were included in a blindly coded report form, which was sent to the coordinator centre. The coordinator estimated the mean coefficient of Variation (CoVar = σ/μ), the mean accuracy (Accur = Vobserved - Vreal) and the mean percent variation (Var% = [(Vobserved - Vreal)/Vreal] × 100). ReSULTSThe analysis showed that 79.17% of the mean variation fell between -25% and +25% of the expected value, with the accuracy and precision progressively increasing with higher titres of TGA. From values 1.25 times greater than the normal cut-off, the measurements were highly reliable. CONCLUSIONTGA estimation is a crucial step for the diagnosis of CD; given its accuracy and precision, clinicians could be confident in establishing a diagnosis.

Bats carry a variety of viruses, and some of them cause public health problems. Macao, which is famous for its gambling industry, has a complex population structure. The globalization in such an international metropolis has enhanced the chance of disease transmission. Therefore, surveillance of zoonotic viruses is necessary for the early warning of potential emerging infectious ***, we report the first surveillance of bat viruses in Macao. In this study, we collected 1004 samples involving 10 bat species from 7 sites from April 2015 to May 2016, and examined the presence of viruses using nucleic acid-based methods. Coronaviruses, adenoviruses and paramyxoviruses were detected in these samples, with a high prevalence of coronaviruses. While,none was positive for hepatitis A virus, hepatitis e virus or hantavirus. Co-infections are not common in those bat species, but coronavirus HKU6 and adenovirus can be found commonly occurred in Myotis ricketti.

AIM: To evaluate the potential association of xeroderma pigmentosum group D (XPD) codon 751 variant with outcome after chemo-radiotherapy in patients with resected gastric cancer. MeTHODS: We used PCR-RFLP to evaluate the genetic XPD Lys751Gln polymorphisms in 44 patients with stage Ⅲ (48%) and Ⅳ (20%) gastric cancer treated with surgery following radiation therapy plus 5-fluorouracil/ leucovorin based chemotherapy. ReSULTS: Statistical analysis showed that 75% (12 of 16) of relapse patients showed Lys/Lys genotype more frequently (P = 0.042). The Lys polymorphism was an independent predictor of high-risk relapse-free survival from Cox analysis (HR: 3.07, 95% CI: 1.07-8.78, P = 0.036) and Kaplan-Meir test (P = 0.027, log-rank test). CONCLUSION: XPD Lys751Gln polymorphism may be an important marker in the prediction of clinical outcome to chemo-radiotherapy in resected gastric cancer patients.

Some problems encountered in applying Smith's technique to predict the.pio tendency for non-linear pilot-vehicle loop, are thoroughly analyzed. Subsequently, modified pio predictable criteria are developed, in addition, to make also a certain improvement on Smith's pio definition and pio types. These modified criteria are applied to predict pio tendency of various different configurations on the variable stability aircraft NT-33 in case of supposed non-linearity, and predicted results are compared with the flight tests and analytical results in the case of linear hypothesis given in Ref. (4)

Parasitic nematodes have been reported as one of the major constraints to soybean production worldwide. The majority of nematodes are so-called “free-living” and feed mainly on bacteria, fungi, protozoa and other nematodes. In Burkina Faso, the presence of parasitic nematodes has been reported in crops such as rice and sorghum. The objective of this study was to identify the genera and species of nematodes associated with soybean production in Burkina Faso. Investigations were carried out on 24 genotypes of a medium-maturity group of soybean at the Farako-Ba research station. Soil samples were taken from the trial soil before its installation. At harvest, soil samples with roots were taken from each genotype in the elementary plots. The composite sample is represented by 4 lots of soil samples with roots. extractions and counts of nematodes were performed on the different lots. In total, 7 genera of plant-parasitic nematodes associated with soybean were identified. Among these genera, Pratylenchus (100% of infected genotypes), Helicotylenchus (97.28%) and Scutellonema (94.44%) were the most prevalent in terms of frequency and abundance. Some soybean genotypes were less susceptible to the genus Pratylenchus is known to be highly pathogenic in soybean. These were mainly the genotypes TGX2025-10e, TGX2023-3e and TGX2025-14e.

目的:观察匙羹藤(Gymnema sylvestre,GS)对自发性2型糖尿db/db小鼠空腹血糖(FBG)、血脂(TG、TC、LDL、HDL)、血清胰岛素(Fins)及脂联素(ADPN)、TNF-αmRNA表达的影响,探讨GS对胰岛素抵抗的作用及对ADPN、TNF-α基因表达的关系。方法:将SPF级27只db/db小鼠随机分3组(n=9):模型组、GS组、吡格列酮组;并选8只db/+m鼠为正常组。连续灌胃给药4周后检测FBG、Fins、血脂、FFA,并用RT-PCR检测脂肪组织中ADPN、TNF-αmRNA的表达。结果:模型组和治疗组的体质量、FBG、Fins、TG、CHOL、LDL、FFA水平和TNF-α的mRNA表达明显高于正常组,而ISI指数和ADPN mRNA的表达低于正常组;与模型组相比,匙羹藤组db/db小鼠的FBG、Fins、TC、LDL-C水平降低,提高ISI指数,上调ADPN mRNA的表达。结论:匙羹藤可改善糖脂代谢紊乱,增加胰岛素的敏感性,其机制可能与改善脂肪细胞因子TNF-α和ADPN的表达有关。

Background: Incorporation of HPV tests into cervical cancer screening programs may be advantageous over conventional cytology, especially in developing nations, where the largest burden of cervical cancer is observed. Objectives: To conduct an evaluation of commercially available molecular HPV tests in Brazilian women. Study design: Two groups were recruited: group A was composed of 511 women referred to the clinics because of a previous abnormal Pap test while group B consisted of 2464 subjects under routine screening. Cervical samples were collected using SurePath liquid cytology (LBC) device, and split into aliquots which were submitted to molecular testing by Hybrid Capture and cobas HPV. Colposcopy and biopsies were made according to the standard guidelines, directed by cytological diagnosis. Results: Prevalence of HSIL was 5.97% and 0.7% in Group A and B respectively. High-Risk HPV DNA was found in about 9% of group B women, while in group A this frequency was 24%. Having CIN3+ as the study end-point, the negative predictive values for molecular methods were above 99.8%. All “in-situ” and invasive cervical carcinomas were detected by both HPV nucleic acid assays. Conclusion: Use of HPV DNA testing was feasible and highly sensitive in cancer screening settings of Brazil.

目的观察匙羹藤（gymnema Sylvestre，GS）对2型糖尿病人鼠糖脂代谢及血清脂肪细胞因子的影响。方法采用高脂饲料喂养加腹腔注射小剂量STZ的方法制备2型糖尿病动物模型，按随机数字表法分为模型组、GS高剂量组、GS低剂量组、吡格列酮组。灌胃治疗4周后检测，空腹血糖（FBG）、血清胰岛素（INS）、甘油三酯（TG）、总胆固醇（CHOL），高密度脂蛋白（HDL）、低密度脂蛋白（HDL）、游离脂肪酸（FFA）、肿瘤坏死因子a（TNF-a）、C-反应蛋白（CRP）及脂联素（ADPN）。结果FBG降低（模型组、吡格列酮组、GS高剂量组分别为22．19±2．27、20．13±2．02、20．10±1．19），INS降低（模型组、吡格列酮组、GS高剂量组分别为142．79±26．86、121．16±21．05、121．32±15．70）；ISI指数提高（模型组、吡格列酮组、GS高剂量组分别为-3．49±0．12、-3．37±0．09、-3-38±0．08）；TG降低（模型组、吡格列酮组、GS高剂量组分别为4．47±1．27、2．68±0．81、1．65±0．66）；CHOL降低（模型组、吡格列酮组、GS高剂量组分别为12．23±2．18、8．44±3．19、6．98±3．40）；LDL降低（模型组、吡格列酮组、GS高剂量组分别为8．77±1．42、7．53±2．82、4．23±2．13）；FFA降低（模型组、吡格列酮组、GS高剂量组分别为1．06±0．39、0．73±0．20、0．74±0.31）；升高HDL（模型组、吡格列酮组、GS高剂量组分别为0．41±0．11、0．57±0．11、0．68±0．08）；TNF-a水平降低（模型组、吡格列酮组、GS高剂量组分别为14.21±2．81、10．98±2．22、8．85±1．59）；CRP水平降低（模型、吡格列酮组、GS高剂量组分别为2．02±0．38、1．38±0．42、1．05±0．15）：血清ADPN提高（模型组、吡格列酮组、GS高剂量组分别为1．03±0．09、1．32±0．17、1．15±0．15）水平；低剂量组除体重外均与模型组没有差异。结论匙羹藤可改善2型糖尿病大鼠模型糖脂代谢，提高胰岛素的敏感性；其机制可能与改善脂肪细胞因子和炎症反应有关。
