Introduction:Changes in land use and agricultural management have caused a strong increase in sediment and particulate phosphorus input into the Miyun *** simulation of the relevant runoff and sediment fluxes at the mesoscale needs adequate procedures,adapted to a semiarid monsoon climate and regional land-use ***:The modified Universal Soil Loss equation(USLe-M)was integrated into the STOFFBILANZ model to calculate daily soil losses in the entire Miyun catchment *** results are well within the range of monitoring data from Wischmeier plots that are located inside the investigation *** the reference year 2009,soil erosion was estimated at an average of 952 kg ha^(-1) year^(-1).Daily based simulation of sediment input into surface waters was done in the next step,taking into account the likeliness of sediment input and sediment delivery *** sediment inputs are by 113 kg ha^(-1) year^(-1).Critical source areas are located on cropland and are particularly relevant on the former lakebed of the Miyun reservoir which has recently been used for corn ***:Compared with observation data from the Bai and Chao rivers,the simulation of sediment loads showed a satisfying agreement that underlines the suitability of the selected approach to substitute recently used one-year balances based on the Universal Soil Loss equation(USLe)*** tillage was selected as a possible mitigation option to reduce soil erosion and sediment *** to the limited availability of spatial and monitoring data,the simulations are approximate and only a first step in contributing to an integrated river basin management that should be improved in future.

Many important semiconductor crystals like Si, GaAs and InP, and optical crystals are grown from the melt by the Czochralskior Bridgman method. As melt growth set-ups and experiments become more and more expensive, the tool of numerical simulationgradually plays an important role in performing a global thermal analysis of the growth set-up and predicting the experimentalconditions for growing a crystal with predefined properties. Therefore, the program package CrysVUn is continuously developed inour laboratory. It is designed for the need of crystal growers to have a fast and efficient computer code for the simulation of thegrowth processes and equipment with axial or 2D geometry. Classical Correlations were founded in 1900 by Karl Pearson and have since been applied as a statistical tool in virtually all sciences. Quantum correlations go back to Albert einstein et al. in 1935 and erwin Schrödinger’s responses shortly after. In this paper, we contrast classical with quantum correlations. We find that classical correlations are weaker than quantum correlations in the CHSH framework. With respect to correlation matrices, the trace of classical correlation matrices is dissimilar to quantum density matrices. However, the off-diagonal terms have equivalent interpretations. We contrast classical dynamic (i.e., time evolving) stochastic correlation with dynamic quantum density matrices and find that the off-diagonal elements, while different in nature, have similar interpretations. So far, due to the laws of quantum physics, no classical correlations are applied to the quantum spectrum. However, conversely, quantum correlations are applied in classical environments such as quantum computing, cryptography, metrology, teleportation, medical imaging, laser technology, the quantum Internet and more.

This article provides a review of tropical cyclone(TC)surface wind estimation from an operational forecasting ***,we provide a summary of operational forecast center practices and historical ***,we discuss current and emerging objective estimates of TC surface winds,including algorithms,archive datasets,and individual algorithm strengths and weaknesses as applied to operational TC surface wind forecast *** review leads to recommendations about required surface coverage—an area covering at least 1100 km from center of TC at a 2-km resolution in the inner-core,and at a frequency of at least once every 6 *** is enough coverage to support a complete analysis of the TC surface wind field from center to the extent of the 34-kt(17 m s^(-1))winds at 6-h *** also suggest future designs of TC surface wind capabilities include funding to ensure near real-time data delivery to operators so that operational evaluation and use are feasible within proposed ***,we suggest that users of archived operational wind radii datasets contact operational organizations to ensure these datasets are appropriate for their needs as the datasets vary in quality through time and space,even from a single organisation.

Metastases of uveal melanoma(UM)spread predominantly to the *** to low response rates to systemic therapies,liver-directed therapies(LDT)are commonly used for tumor *** impact of LDT on the response to systemic treatment is unknown.A total of 182 patients with metastatic UM treated with immune checkpoint blockade(ICB)were included in this *** were recruited from prospective skin cancer centers and the German national skin cancer registry(ADOReg)of the German Dermatologic Cooperative Oncology Group(DeCOG).Two cohorts were compared:patients with LDT(cohort A,n=78)versus those without LDT(cohort B,n=104).Data were analyzed for response to treatment,progression-free survival(PFS),and overall survival(OS).The median OS was significantly longer in cohort A than in cohort B(20.1 vs.13.8 months;P=0.0016)and a trend towards improved PFS was observed for cohort A(3.0 vs.2.5 months;P=0.054).The objective response rate to any ICB(16.7%vs.3.8%,P=0.0073)and combined ICB(14.1%vs.4.5%,P=0.017)was more favorable in cohort *** data suggest that the combination of LDT with ICB may be associated with a survival benefit and higher treatment response to ICB in patients with metastatic UM.

During the last few years, deep brain stimulation (DBS) of the subthalamic nuc leus (STN) has emerged as a promising therapy, alleviating major motor symptoms of Parkinson’s disease (PD). However, in times of growing budgetary limitations , medical decisions are no longer merely based on clinical efficacy, but also on cost-effectiveness. Here we assess treatment costs (i. e. costs for conservati ve pharmacological treatment and all in-patient admissions) of 46 PD patients f or one year before and two years after STN-DBS. The present data show that tota l treatment costs were increased by 32 %for the first year and decreased by 54 %for the second year of STN-DBS in comparison with preoperative values while t he Unified Parkinon’s Disease Rating Scale (UPDRS III) was significantly improv ed. The increase for the first year after surgery was mainly due to the implanta tion of the STN electrodes and the stimulation device. Taken together, STN-DBS pays off from the second year of stimulation while motor symptoms are significan tly improved. The present study provides first data of an important number of pa tients on clinical effectiveness and expenses in relation to STN-DBS.
