HIV/AIDS is an immune deficiency disease, caused by an RNA virus (positively charged pathogen). It is still being regarded as mysteriously incurable but in Nigeria many patients have been cured (they became HIV-antibody and antigen negative) by exploiting electrostatic attraction between pathogens and opposite electrical charges that are on Nanoparticles of Medicinal synthetic Aluminum-magnesium silicate (MSAMS) and by using antioxidants to relieve oxidative stress. To confirm the cure, as permanent, a patient (adult male) whose CD4 count increased (P e his viral load became undetectable (e became HIV-negative (antibody and antigen) following the treatment, was tested, every month, post treatment, for HIV-antibody. He has remained HIV-negative for 10 months without being on any antiretroviral medicine (ARV). Longest window period (period HIV-infected person may test antibody-negative) is only 6 months. These results confirm that treatment with the MSAMS and antioxidants normalizes immunity and terminates HIV-infections.

COVID-19 virus has positive electrical charges. So, particles that are negatively charged would, by opposite charges-electrostatic attraction, inhibit its replication’s first stage (attachment to cells) and mop its extra-cellular particles. Positively charged particles would similarly mop/destroy cells it infects because unlike healthy cells which are neutral, infected/tumor cells have negative electrical charges. Nanoparticles (0.96 nm) of Aluminum-magnesium silicate (AMS), WHO-approved medicine/adjuvant have both negative and positive charged ends. As adjuvant it improves antimicrobials’ efficacies (clearing secondary infections) while as silicate it enhances immunity. By inhibiting viral replication;mopping extra-cellular viruses/abnormal cells;clearing secondary infections;enhancing immunity, AMS terminates viral-infections/abnormal cells’ metastases. Natural AMS has impurities and its deposits are not found in Nigeria. So, Aluminum silicate and Magnesium silicate (WHO-approved medicines) were used for Medicinal synthetic AMS {MSAMS: Al4 (SiO4)3 + 3Mg2SiO4 → 2Al2Mg3 (SiO4)3}. Since AMS is un-absorbable, dextrose monohydrate is incorporated in MSAMS-formulations to convey its Nanoparticles into blood for circulation to all organs/tissues (active-transportation). The MSAMS achieved quick cure (within 3 days) of all four COVID-19 patients used for its first-phase trial (one in Nigeria, two in Cameroon, one in Tanzania).

To investigate if Aluminium-Magnesium Silicate (AMS) could make drugs regain effects against resistant pathogens, its effect was tested on sulphadimidine against sulphadimidine-resistant escherichia coli. Two groups of chicks infected with sulphadimidine-resistant e. coli were treated at sulphadimidine dose rate of 1 g/litre of drinking water, with sulphadimidine and with an AMS-sulphadimidine drug formulation, respectively. Two other groups were similarly treated at sulphadimidine dose rate of 0.75 g/litre, while the fifth group served as control. Mean titres of the bacterium in bile of the chicks were compared. Titres, 119,200 ± 55,800 CFU/mL of the group treated with sulphadimidine at rate of 1 g/ litre and 14,800 ± 1700 CFU/mL of the group treated at rate of 0.75 g/litre, did not vary from 33,200 ± 5200 CFU/mL of the control (P > 0.05) but 295,200 ± 106,400 CFU/ml of the group treated at rate of 1 g/litre, with the AMS-sulpha- dimidine drug was significantly (P er than that of the control while 5200 ± 1400 CFU/mL of the group treated at dose of 0.75 g/litre, with the AMS-sulphadimidine drug, reduced significantly (P < 0.05).

To cure COVID-19, we propounded mopping viruses/infected cells by opposite-charges electrostatic attraction as mechanism of treatment. RNA viruses (including COVID-19 virus) are positively charged while DNA viruses and abnormal (infected/tumor) cells are negatively charged but normal cells are neutral. Molecules of Aluminum-magnesium silicate (AMS), a WHO- approved medicine, consist of Nanoparticles that have both negatively and positively charged ends. Ultra-small size (0.96 nm thick) of the Nanoparticles, allows them access to cells in all organs. Nigeria does not have natural AMS-deposits but she has Aluminum silicate and Magnesium silicate, abundantly. These solid minerals which are WHO-approved medicines too were used to formulate an AMS-brand, named, Medicinal synthetic AMS (MSAMS, VITUMeD®, Antivirt®). Dextrose monohydrate (simple sugar) is incorporated in each MSAMS-formulation to convey the electrically charged Nanoparticles across mucous membranes (active-transportation) into blood for circulation to all organs. The Antivirt® has proved effective against all viral and abnormal-cell diseases so far tested including COVID-19.

Background: Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV)/Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS) has afflicted persons of all ages leading to increase spread of the virus. This study attempts to determine the prevalence of HIV infection among 50 years of age and above over the five years of study in Nnewi, Nigeria. Methods: Males and females who were 50 years and above who underwent HCT in Nnewi between January 2008 to November 2012 were counseled and tested for HIV antibodies after giving an oral consent. Results: Of the 57,090 clients offered HCT, 4384 (7.7%) were 50 years and above while 52,706 (92.3%) were 15 - 49 years of age. The crude HIV prevalence was 8.2%. HIV infection in the 50 - 59 years of age was 2.4 times higher than that in the 60 years of age and above. A higher prevalence was observed in females (8.8%) compared with 7.8% in males in our study. No female 75 years and over was found to have HIV infection in our study (0%) while males in the same age group had a prevalence of 3.0%. The prevalence in our study was higher compared to the 2010 ANC sentinel survey (8.7%) in Anambra state. Conclusion: Our findings show that offering HCT routinely is feasible and may increase linkage to HIV care and treatment for many individuals with HIV infections. Routine HCT should be an integral component of any expansion in HIV prevention, care and treatment services in Africa and other settings where the prevalence of HIV is high. House to house HIV testing will improve uptake of testing among older population in developing countries.

A safe and environmentally friendly cyaniding method has been developed to mitigate the toxic impacts of cyanide salts on the environment during conventional cyaniding. The method entails in-situ diffusion of nascent cyanide from mature cassava leaves into the surface of mild steel components via pack-cyaniding. Both high-temperature in-situ diffusion into austenite and low-temperature in-situ diffusion into ferrite were explored. Results from light and scanning electron microscopic studies showed that surface hardness of the steel components was substantially increased. The waste product was a harmless biodegradable organic compound that posed no disposal threats. This study is important for increasing the wear resistance of ferrous parts for a longer service life in application without polluting the environment.

抗原85(Ag85)复合体是BCG合成分泌的可刺激机体产生细胞免疫和体液免疫应答。Ag85A是抗原85复合体组成成分之一,可显著刺激细胞免疫功能增强。研究构建了高效表达的pTrcHisB-Ag85A基因重组质粒,并将其转化至大肠埃希菌TOP10中进行重组蛋白的表达,筛选转化物,SDS-PAGe进行蛋白表达的分子量检测,并通过Western Blotting方法,应用抗Ag85A的单克隆抗体进一步确认重组Ag85A蛋白的表达,建立了Ag85A的原核表达体系,为进一步制备出有效的重组Ag85A疫苗奠定基础。

HIV-Infection Reduction-Rates in Patients, on Antiretroviral efficacy-Trial of a Nigerian Broad-Spectrum Antiviral Medicine (Antivirt®)

In verifying antiretroviral efficacy of a Nigerian broad spectrum antiviral medicine (Antivirt®), the Nigerian Institute of Medical Research certified it safe by toxicological test on laboratory animals, before commencing treatment of three HIV/AIDS patients whose viral loads varied widely (millions, hundreds of thousands and thousands). To overcome errors associated with such wide differences in subject-classes, percentages of viral load-reductions were calculated instead of comparing their viral loads. After first month of the Antivirt®-treatment, means of ranked viral loads of the patients significantly (P ≤ 0.05) increased from 10.00 ± 7.21 to 11.30 ± 5.51 (-41.03% infection-reduction rate) instead of reducing. From second month of the trial, their viral loads started to reduce, continuously, so that their infection-reduction rates have been increasing from that -41.03%, to -38.22% in the second month;23.98% in the third month;31.76% in the fourth month and 64.12% after the fifth month.

We report a case of vulval squamous cell carcinoma (SCC)arising in chronic hidradenitis suppurativa (HS). The patient had a complex medical history including a 2 5-year-history of Crohns disease. In addition she had recently received immunosuppressive therapy for nephrotic syndrome secondary to membranous glomerulonephritis. A painful nodule was noted on the vulva that was clinically very suspicious of SCC. An excision biopsy confirmed the diagnosis. There are few publications in the english literature citing association between HS and the development of SCC. The first report in the english literature of vulval SCC arising in chronic HS was published in 1999. We wish to draw attention to the possibility that patients with HS may develop SCC in lesional skin. A painful lump or ulcer could easily be mistaken for an inflammatory lesion and a low threshold for biopsy is warranted. We suggest constant vigilance with regard to malignant change in ano-genital HS as the diagnosis can be difficult.
