Performance and calibration of quark/gluon-jet taggers using 140 fb^(-1) of pp collisions at √s=13 TeV with the ATLAs detector

The identification of jets originating from quarks and gluons,often referred to as quark/gluon tagging,plays an important role in various analyses performed at the Large Hadron Collider,as standard Model measurements and searches for new particles decaying to quarks often rely on suppressing a large.g.uon-induced *** paper describes the measurement of the efficiencies of quark/gluon taggers developed within the ATLAs Collaboration,using √s=13 TeV proton–proton collision data with an integrated luminosity of 140 fb^(-1) collected by the ATLAs *** taggers with high performances in rejecting jets from gluon over jets from quarks are studied:one tagger is based on requirements on the number of inner-detector tracks associated with the jet,and the other combines several jet substructure observables using a boosted decision tree.A method is established to determine the quark/gluon fraction in data,by using quark/gluon-enriched subsamples defined by the jet *** in tagging efficiency between data and simulation are provided for jets with transverse momentum between 500 geV and 2 TeV and for multiple tagger working points.

Lactobacillus plantarum j26 alleviates alcohol-induced oxidative liver injury by regulating the Nrf2 signaling pathway

Oxidative stress is one of the main ways to cause alcohol-induced liver injury,and alcoholic liver disease(ALD)has been a common health problem *** acid bacteria(LAB)is also considered as a potential treatment to alleviate alcohol-induced liver *** plantarum j26 is a LAB isolated from Chinese traditional fermented dairy products with excellent probiotic *** study aimed to establish a mice model of alcoholic liver injury through acute-on-chronic alcohol feeding and to study the alleviating effect of pre-intake of *** j26 on alcohol-induced oxidative liver injury and focus on its potential mechanism of alleviating *** results showed that pre-intake of *** j26 could improve liver pathological changes,reduce lipid accumulation,increase mitochondrial ATP and mitochondrial(mtDNA)levels,and alleviate liver *** addition,pre-intake *** j26 can improve the level of short-chain fatty acids(sCFAs)in the intestines in mice,short chain fatty acids can be used as a signaling molecule activation of nuclear factor e2-related factor 2(Nrf2)signaling pathway to alleviate liver oxidative stress,and maintain mitochondrial homeostasis by regulating the expression of genes related to mitochondrial dynamics and autophagy,thereby reducing cell apoptosis to alleviate alcohol-induced oxidative liver injury.

Next-generation advanced high/pulsed power capacitors urgently require dielectric materials with outstanding ene.g. storage ***_(0.5)Na_(0.5)TiO_(3)-based lead-free materials exhibit high polarization,but the high remanent polarization and large polarization hysteresis limit their applications in dielectric ***,high-entropy perovskite relaxor ferroelectrics(Na_(0.2)Bi_(0.2)Ba_(0.2)sr_(0.2)Ca_(0.2))(Ti1-x%Zrx%)O_(3)are designed by adding multiple ions in the A-site and replacing the B-site Ti^(4+)with a certain amount of Zr^(4+).The newly designed system showed high relaxor feature and slim polarization-electric(P-e)***,improved relaxor feature and obviously delayed polarization saturation were found with the increasing of Zr^(4+).Of particular importance is that both high recoverable ene.g. storage density of 6.6 j/cm^(3) and ene.g. efficiency of 93.5%were achieved under 550 kV/cm for the ceramics of x=6,accompanying with excellent frequency stability,appreciable thermal stability,and prosperous discharge *** work not only provides potential dielectric materials for ene.g. storage applications,but also offers an effective strategy to obtain dielectric ceramics with ultrahigh comprehensive ene.g. storage performance to meet the demanding requirements of advanced ene.g. storage applications.

In this work,dielectric ultracapacitors were designed and fabricated using a combination of phase boundary and nanograin *** ultracapacitors are based on submicron-thick Ba(Zr_(0.2)Ti_(0.8))O_(3) ferroelectric films sputterdeposited on si at 500℃.With a composition near a polymorphic phase boundary(PPB),a compressive strain,and a high nucleation rate due to the lowered deposition temperature,these films exhibit a columnar nanograined microstructure with gradient phases along the.g.owth *** a microstructure presents three-dimensional polarization inhomogeneities on the nanoscale,thereby significantly delaying the saturation of the overall electric ***,a pseudolinear,ultraslim polarization(P)-electric field(e)hysteresis loop was obtained,featuring a high maximum applicable electric field(~5.7 MV/cm),low remnant polarization(~5.2μC/cm^(2))and high maximum polarization(~92.1μC/cm^(2)).This P-e loop corresponds to a high recyclable ene.g. density(Wrec~208 j/cm^(3))and charge‒discharge efficiency(~88%).An indepth electron microscopy study revealed that the.g.adient ferroelectric phases consisted of tetragonal(T)and rhombohedral(R)polymorphs along the.g.owth direction of the *** T-rich phase is abundant near the bottom of the film and gradually transforms into the R-rich phase near the *** films also exhibited a high Curie temperature of~460℃and stable capacitive ene.g. storage up to 200℃.These results suggest a feasible pathway for the design and fabrication of high-performance dielectric film capacitors.

soil phosphorus (P) plays a vital role in both ecological and agricultural ecosystems, where total P (TP) in soil serves as a crucial indicator of soil fertility and quality. Most of the studies covered in the literature employ a single or narrow range of soil databases, which largely overlooks the impact of utilizing multiple mapping scales in estimating soil TP, especially in hilly topographies. In this study, Fujian Province, a subtropical hilly region along China’s southeast coast covered by a complex topographic environment, was taken as a case study. The influence of the mapping scale on soil TP storage (TPs)estimation was analyzed using six digital soil databases that were derived from 3 082 unique soil profiles at different mapping scales, i.e., 1:50 000 (s5),1:200 000 (s20), 1:500 000 (s50), 1:1 000 000 (s100), 1:4 000 000 (s400), and 1:10 000 000 (s1000). The regional TPs in the surface soil (0–20 cm) based on the s5, s20, s50, s100, s400, and s1000 soil maps was 20.72, 22.17, 23.06, 23.05, 22.04, and 23.48 Tg, respectively, and the corresponding TPs at0–100 cm soil depth was 80.98, 80.71, 85.00, 84.03, 82.96, and 86.72 Tg, respectively. By comparing soil TPs in the s20 to s1000 maps to that in the s5map, the relative deviations were 6.37%–13.32%for 0–20 cm and 0.33%–7.09%for 0–100 cm. Moreover, since the s20 map had the lowest relative deviation among different mapping scales as compared to s5, it could provide additional soil information and a richer soil environment than other smaller mapping scales. Our results also revealed that many uncertainties in soil TPs estimation originated from the lack of detailed soil information, i.e., representation and spatial variations among different soil types. From the time and labor perspectives, our work provides useful guidelines to identify the appropriate mapping scale for estimating regional soil TPs in areas like Fujian Province in subtropical China or other places with similar complex topographies. Accurate measurement of the average plasma parameters in the e.g. region,including the temperature and density of electrons and ions,is critical for understanding the characteristics of the scrape-off layer(sOL) and divertor plasma transport in magnetically confined fusion *** the j-TeXT tokamak,a multi-channel retarding field analyzer(RFA) probe has been developed to study average plasma parameters in the e.g. region under various poloidal divertor and island divertor *** e.g. radial profile of the ion-to-electron temperature ratio,τ_(i/e),has been determined,which gradually decreases as the sOL ion self-collisionality,v_(sOL)*,*** is broadly consistent with what has been observed previously from various tokamak ***,the comparison of experimental results under different configurations shows that in the poloidal divertor configuration,even under the same v_(sOL)*,τ_(i/e) in the sOL region becomes smaller as the distance from the X-point to the target plate *** the island divertor configuration,τ_(i/e) near the O-point is higher than that near the X-point at the same v_(sOL)*,and both are higher than those in the limiter *** results suggest that the magnetic configuration plays a critical role in the ene.g. distributions between electrons and ions at the plasma boundary.

The.g.ound-state mass excess of the T_(z)=−2 drip-line nucleus ^(22)Al is measured for the first time as 18103(10)keV using the newly-developed Bρ-defined isochronous mass spectrometry method at the cooler storage ring in *** new mass excess value allowed us to determine the excitation ene.g.es of the two low-lying 1+states in ^(22)Al with significantly reduced uncertainties of 51 *** compared to the analogue states in its mirror nucleus ^(22)F,the mirror ene.g. differences of the two 1^(+)states in the ^(22)Al-^(22)F mirror pair are determined to be−625(51)keV and−330(51)*** excitation ene.g.es and mirror ene.g. differences are used to test the state-of-the-art ab initio valence-space in-medium similarity renormalization group calculations with four sets of interactions derived from the chiral effective field *** mechanism leading to the large mirror ene.g. differences is investigated and attributed to the occupation of theπs_(1/2) orbital.
