Traumatic brain injury(TBI) impacts 69 million individuals globally each year and is a leading cause of death and disability(Dewan et al.,2019).The majority of moderate-to-severe TBI survivors endure long-lasting disturbances in motor,cognitive,and affect that negatively impacts their *** a plethora of research on pharmacological interventions for TBI has been conducted,none has translated to the clinic,thus advocating for the evaluation of nonpharmacological therapeutic approaches that may increase translational success.

The integration of battery energy storage systems(BeSS)throughout our energy chain poses concerns regarding safety,especially since batteries have high energy density and numerous BeSS failure events have *** spread adoption will only increase the prevalence of these failure events unless there is a step change in the management and design of *** understand the causes of failure,the main challenges of BeSS safety are *** consequences and failure events are discussed,including specific focus on the chain of events causing thermal runaway,and a case study of a BeSS explosion in Surprise Arizona is *** on the technology and past events,a paradigm shift is required to improve BeSS *** this review,a holistic approach is *** combines currently adopted approaches including battery cell testing,lumped cell mathematical modelling,and calorimetry,alongside additional measures taken to ensure BeSS safety including the requirement for computational fluid dynamics and kinetic modelling,assessment of installation level testing of the full BeSS system and not simply a single cell battery test,hazard and layers of protection analysis,gas chromatography,and composition *** holistic approach proposed in this study aims to address challenges of BeSS safety and form the basis of a paradigm shift in the safety management and design of these systems.

Strong coupling between resonantly matched surface plasmons of metals and excitons of quantum emitters results in the formation of new plasmon-exciton hybridized energy *** plasmon-exciton strong coupling,plasmonic nanocavities play a significant role due to their ability to confine light in an ultrasmall ***,two-dimensional transition metal dichalcogenides（TMDCs） have a significant exciton binding energy and remain stable at ambient conditions,making them an excellent alternative for investigating light-matter *** a result,strong plasmon-exciton coupling has been reported by introducing a single metallic ***,single nanoparticles have lower spatial confinement of electromagnetic fields and limited tunability to match the excitonic ***,we introduce the concept of catenary-shaped optical fields induced by plasmonic metamaterial cavities to scale the strength of plasmon-exciton *** demonstrated plasmon modes of metallic metamaterial cavities offer high confinement and tunability and can match with the excitons of TMDCs to exhibit a strong coupling regime by tuning either the size of the cavity gap or *** calculated Rabi splitting of Au-MoSe2and Au-WSe2heterostructures strongly depends on the catenary-like field enhancement induced by the Au cavity,resulting in room-temperature Rabi splitting ranging between 77.86 and 320 me *** plasmonic metamaterial cavities can pave the way for manipulating excitons in TMDCs and operating active nanophotonic devices at ambient temperature.

Food waste generation is a pressing issue that requires urgent attention and concerted efforts *** staggering amount of food wasted each year not only wastes valuable resources but also exacerbates environmental,economic,and social *** Waste Management(FWM)consists of a complex array of criteria and sub-criteria,and treatments which seems *** is a need to evaluate the FWM with the help of important criteria and sub-criteria and treatments to address this *** this study,we identified four important criteria,21 sub-criteria,and four alternatives of FWM for the case of Malaysia using the integrated approach of literature review and expert ***,we employed the approach of Modified Fuzzy Improved Analytical Hierarchy Process(IAHP)to corroborate the interrelationships among the identified criteria and sub-criteria,and their associated *** study undertakes linear normalization methods to transform data into comparable numerical values and the Geometric Mean method to handle uncertainty in human ***,the Centroid method is employed to convert fuzzy weights into crisp sets for ease of *** results indicate that environmental is the most essential criterion,followed by social,economic,and *** addition,air and water pollution is identified as the most critical *** Soldier Fly is discovered as the most sustainable FWM treatment,since it performs the best while meeting all the criteria and sub-criteria *** analysis demonstrates that the outputs from the proposed method are robust and *** finding suggests a proper and robust approach to help decision-makers select suitable FWM treatments to tackle various criteria and alternatives especially when handling inconsistent and uncertain judgments during evaluation.

Laser plasma accelerators(LPAs)enable the generation of intense and short proton bunches on a micrometre scale,thus offering new experimental capabilities to research fields such as ultra-high dose rate radiobiology or material *** spectrally broadband,laser-accelerated proton bunches allow for tailored volumetric dose deposition in a sample via single bunches to excite or probe specific sample *** rising number of such experiments indicates a need for diagnostics providing spatially resolved characterization of dose distributions with volumes of approximately 1 cm^(3) for single proton bunches to allow for fast online *** we present the scintillator-based miniSCIDOM detector for online single-bunch tomographic reconstruction of dose distributions in volumes of up to approximately 1 cm^(3).The detector achieves a spatial resolution below 500μm and a sensitivity of 100 *** detector performance is tested at a proton therapy cyclotron and an LPA proton *** experiments’primary focus is the characterization of the scintillator’s ionization quenching behaviour.

A common reclamation practice for closed coal surface mines is filling them with water to form pit *** creation and sustainability of these lakes are significantly affected by the stability of the corresponding *** present study provides a general framework for analyzing the water filling’s effect on slope stability based on a new water filling index,which can indirectly consider the factors affecting the process and efficiently quantify the filling speed’s *** assumptions of the proposed approach are thoroughly discussed,and the range of the water filling index is ***,the safety factor is calculated using the finite element method with the shear strength reduction technique during the filling process for various conditions(soil properties,slope geometry,hydraulic conditions,and water filling speed).Results are presented as normalized stability charts for practical *** the water filling,the stability gradually decreases until the reservoir reaches a critical level of 10%e40%of the total height;it then increases to even more stable conditions than the initial ***,the present analysis allows for the preliminary stability evaluation of a coal mine during the formation of a pit lake and the appropriate quantification of the water filling’s effect.

Various sectors of the industry are searching for new materials with specific requirements,providing improved *** study presents novel composite materials based on polylactide that have been modified with the organosilicon compound,(3-thiopropyl)polysilsesquioxane(SSQ-SH).The SSQ-SH compound is a mixture of cage structures and not fully condensed random *** composite materials were obtained through injection *** study includes a comprehensive characterization of the new materials that analyze their functional properties,such as rheology(MFR),mechanical strength(tensile strength,Charpy impact strength),and thermal *** microscopic photos were also taken to analyze the microstructure of the *** addition of a 5%by-weight organosilicon compound to polylactide resulted in a significant increase in MFR by 73.8%compared to the neat *** greatest improvement in impact strength was achieved for the 5%SSQ-SH/PLA composite,increasing it by 32.0 kJ/m^(2)compared to PLA,which represents an increase of up to 187%.The conducted research confirms the possibility of modifying the properties of the polymer by employing organosilicon compounds.

Gallbladder adenomas are rare lesions(0.5%)associated with potential malignant transformation,particularly with gallbladder adenomas that are≥1 cm in *** detection and management are crucial for preventing lethal carcinoma *** polyps can often be distinguished from the more often nonneo-plastic cholesterol pseudopolyps(5%-10%),which are *** is the first-line tool for initial diagnosis and follow-up when *** question is whether cholecystectomy is always necessary for all *** manage-ment of gallbladder adenomas is determined according to the size of the tumor,the growth rate of the tumor,the patient’s symptoms and whether risk factors for malignancy are ***≥1 cm in size,an age>50 years and a familial history of gallbladder carcinoma are indications for immediate laparoscopic ***,ultrasound follow-up is *** adenomas 6-9 mm in size,the absence of≥2 mm growth at 6 months,one year,and two years,as well as an adenoma sizedexisting risk factors indicates that no further surveillance is ***,it would be preferable to individualize the management in doubtful *** interventional modalities for preserving the gallbladder need further evaluation,especially to determine the long-term outcomes.
