effect of BaF2 addition on luminescence properties of er3+/Yb3+ co-doped phosphate glasses

er3+/Yb3+co-doped phosphate glasses（P2O5-Al2O3-BaO-BaF2-K2O-er2O3-Yb2O3） with varying BaF2content,were prepared by a conventional melt quenching technique and their spectroscopic properties were examined through the Raman, absorption, emission and decay measurements. Raman spectra(350-1400 cm-1) of the er3+/Yb3+co-doped phosphate glasses with varying BaF2content, were recorded upon laser excitation at 785 nm. Near infrared luminescence spectra were measured in the1400-1600 nm region under 970 nm diode laser excitation and characteristic band was observed at1533 nm corresponding to4Ⅰ13/2→4Ⅰ15/2transition of er3+ion. The.decay curves for the4Ⅰ13/2level of er3+ion, were measured and the lifetime is found to decrease from 7.94 to 7.70 ms when BaF2content increases from 0 to 8 mol% and then increases up to 7.83 ms with further increase in BaF2content（12 mol%）. The emission *** and figure of merit for the4Ⅰ13/2→4Ⅰ15/2transition of er3+ion were evaluated and compared to the other host matrices. The upconversion luminescence was measured and intense red emission was observed for all the studied samples.

Novel mono-and bimetallic scorpionate aluminum compounds have been designed and characterized by spec-troscopic *** organometallics complexes,in combination with tetrabutylammonium bromide as cocatalyst,displayed good catalytic activity for the cycloaddition of styrene oxide and CO_(2) under ambient *** the compounds tested,monometallic complex 3 featuring diethylamino groups showed the highest catalytic *** catalytic system catalyzed the formation of cyclic carbonate products from their corresponding epoxides at room temperature and 1 bar of CO_(2) pressure in the absence of a solvent in good yields and excellent selectivities.

The most salient problems of transit vehicle service in latin American intermediate cities include:the high number of passengers involved in traffic accidents;traffic congestion caused by transit vehicles,and pollution generated by these vehicles,which increases in high congestion *** improve upon this situation,a research was conducted on the transit vehicle tracking service,which is a basic service for implementing mobility solutions for the aforementioned problems,the most relevant characteristics of this service for the context of latin American intermediate cities were identified,and an implementation was *** paper presents the four stages of the study:(a)a review of the state-of-the-art of services or systems related to vehicle tracking,including wireless communications technologies,implemented sustainability approaches,usage of special algorithms for efficiency improvement,and the intelligent transportation system(ITS)architecture used as a basis;(b)the process of identifying relevant characteristics of the service for a given context;(c)proposal of an ITS architecture for this service in an intermediate city,its requirements and the suggested technologies;and(d)development of experiments for validating usage of the key suggested *** review allowed to identify the main service characteristics,with regard to vehicle positioning technologies,the recomme.ded wireless communication technology(long range,LoRa),energy consumption considerations,and use of artificial intelligence(AI)to calculate waiting time of users at bus ***,an ITS architecture for the city of Popayan(Colombian city)considering the aforementioned characteristics is proposed,and the experiments related to the use of these technologies are.described in detail.

This paper presents the results from unidirectional shaking table tests of two reduced scale steel models of a building frame, with one and two floors, respectively. These frames incorporate friction dissipators at every floor. The inputs are sine-dwells and artificial and registered earthquakes. This study is part of a larger research project aiming to assess the seismic efficiency of friction dissipators by means of an integrated numerical and experimental approach. Inside this framework, the main objectives of these experiments are to：（i） collect a wide range of results to calibrate a numerical model derived within the project, （ii） clarify some of the most controversial issues about friction dissipators （including behavior for inputs containing pulses, capacity to reduce resonance peaks, introduction of high frequencies in the response, and self- generated eccentricities）, （iii） better understand their dynamic behavior, （iv） provide insight on the feasibility and reliability of using simple friction dissipators for seismic protection of building structures and （v） characterize the hysteretic behavior of these.devices. Most of these objectives are satisfactorily reached and relevant conclusions are stated.

Photouncaging of second messengers has been successfully employed to gain mechanistic insight of cellular signaling path- ways. One of the most enigmatic processes of ion channel regulation is lipid recognition and lipid-gating of TRPC channels, which represents pivotal mechanisms of cellular Ca2＋ homeostasis. Recently, optopharmacological tools including caged lipid mediators became available, enabling an unprecedented level of temporal and spatial control of the activating lipid species within a cellular environment. Here we tested a commonly used caged ligand approach for suitability to investigate TRPC sig- naling at the level of membrane conductance and cellular Ca2＋ handling. We report a specific photouncaging artifact that is triggered by the cage structure coumarin at UV illumination. electrophysiological characterization identified a light-depe.dent membrane effect of coumarin. UV light （340 nm） as used for photouncaging, initiated a membrane conductance specifically in the presence of coumarin as low as 30 pmol L-1 concentrations. This conductance masked the TRPC3 conductance evoked by photouncaging, while TRPC-mediated cellular Ca2＋ responses were largely preserved. The observed light-induced membrane effects of the released caging moiety may well interfere with certain cellular functions, and prompt caution in using couma- fin-caged second messengers in cellular studies.
