Background and Aims: Hepatocellular iron accumulation in patients with chronic liver disease has been linked to adverse outcomes. The objective of this study was to identify clinical factors associated with hemosiderosis. Methods: A total of 103 consecutive liver transplant recipients were identified, in whom liver biopsy had been performed prior to transplantation. Laboratory and clinical data at biopsy and transplant were abstracted from the medical records and hepatocyte iron was graded in the biopsy and explant. The association of change in iron score from biopsy to transplant, with the time interval between these two events, was examined using linear mixed model analysis for repeated measures. Results: Most subjects had advanced fibrosis (F3-F4) at liver biopsy, which was performed on average about 2.5 years before transplant. Over 80% of patients had no or 1+ hepatocyte iron at biopsy;iron increased between biopsy and transplant in about 40%. The only demographic or clinical feature that correlated with increased iron was the presence of a transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt. Increased iron at transplant was associated with higher serum iron and transferrin saturation at biopsy, and with lower hemoglobin level, greater mean corpuscular volume, mean corpuscular hemoglobin and mean corpuscular hemoglobin concentration, higher ferritin and model for end-stage liver disease score at ***: The development of hemosiderosis in end-stage liver disease is associated with lower hemoglobin levels and alterations in red blood cell indices that are suggestive of hemolysis. These observations suggest that extravascular hemolysis may play a role in the development of secondary iron overload.

Background:Historically sinonasal malignancies were always addressed via open craniofacial surgery for an oncologic *** esthesioneuroblastomas are excised using an exclusively endoscopic approach,however,the rarity of this disease limits the availability of long-term and large scale outcomes ***:The primary objective is to evaluate the treatment modalities used and the overall survival of patients with esthesioneuroblastoma managed with exclusively endoscopic ***:In accordance with PRISMA guidelines,PubMed was queried to identify studies describing outcomes associated with endoscopic management of ***:Forty-four out of 2462 articles met inclusion criteria,totaling 399 patients with esthesioneuroblastoma treated with an exclusively endoscopic ***-two patients(18.0%)received adjuvant chemotherapy and 331 patients(83.0%)received postoperative radiation *** average age was 50.6 years old(range 6-83).Of the 399 patients,57(16.6%)were Kadish stage A,121(35.2%)were Kadish stage B,145(42.2%)were Kadish stage C,and 21(6.1%)were Kadish stage *** analysis demonstrated that 66.0%of patients had Hyams histologic GradeⅠorⅡ,while 34.0%of patients had GradeⅢorⅣ*** surgical margins were achieved in 86.9%of patients,and recurrence was identified in 10.3%of *** those with 5-year follow-up,reported overall survival was 91.1%.Conclusion:exclusively endoscopic surgery for esthesioneuroblastoma is performed for a wide range of disease stages and grades,and the majority of these patients are also treated with adjuvant chemotherapy or radiation *** overall recurrence rate is 10.3%and 5-year survival is 91.1%.

已有研究发现,伴随眼神交流、注视引导和手势等多种社会线索的高具身教学代理能够提高多媒体学习效果。但教学代理伴随的不同社会线索各自如何影响学习尚不明确。本研究利用眼动追踪技术通过两个递进实验考查教学代理的不同社会线索对认知加工和学习成绩的影响。两个实验均让大学生被试在不同的实验条件下观看与化学突触传递过程相关的多媒体视频课程。其中实验1探究教学代理的一般社会线索(眼神交流)和注意引导性社会线索(注视引导和指示性手势)分别对多媒体学习过程和学习结果的影响。结果发现,教学代理在讲解过程中看向并指向幻灯片上的相关元素(注意引导性社会线索)能引导学习者更多地注视该内容并获得更好的保持和迁移学习成绩;教学代理与学习者保持眼神交流(一般社会线索)能提高学习者的保持测验成绩并且能够增强注意引导性社会线索对注意力的引导作用。实验2进一步探究教学代理的注意引导性社会线索中的注视引导和指示性手势分别对学习过程和学习结果的影响。结果发现,教学代理的指示性手势能够帮助学习者更多的注视相关内容并获得更高的保持测验成绩,而且当其与注视引导相结合时也能够提高迁移测验成绩。这些发现有助于扩展具身原则。

We propose a model for studying binary fluids based on the mesoscopic molecular simulation technique known as multiparticle collision, where the space and state variables are continuous, and time is discrete. We include a repulsion rule to simulate segregation processes that does not require calculation of the interaction forces between particles, so binary fluids can be described on a mesoscopic scale. The model is conceptually simple and computationally efficient; it maintains Galilean invariance and conserves the mass and energy in the system at the micro- and macro-scale, whereas momentum is conserved globally. For a wide range of temperatures and densities, the model yields results in good agreement with the known properties of binary fluids, such as the density profile, interface width, phase separation, and phase growth. We also apply the model to the study of binary fluids in crowded environments with consistent results.

We introduce Quafu-Qcover,an open-source cloud-based software package developed for solving combinatorial optimization problems using quantum simulators and hardware ***-Qcover provides a standardized and comprehensive workflow that utilizes the quantum approximate optimization algorithm(QAOA).It facilitates the automatic conversion of the original problem into a quadratic unconstrained binary optimization(QUBO)model and its corresponding Ising model,which can be subsequently transformed into a weight *** core of Qcover relies on a graph decomposition-based classical algorithm,which efficiently derives the optimal parameters for the shallow QAOA ***-Qcover incorporates a dedicated compiler capable of translating QAOA circuits into physical quantum circuits that can be executed on Quafu cloud quantum *** to a general-purpose compiler,our compiler demonstrates the ability to generate shorter circuit depths,while also exhibiting superior speed ***,the Qcover compiler has the capability to dynamically create a library of qubits coupling substructures in real-time,utilizing the most recent calibration data from the superconducting quantum *** ensures that computational tasks can be assigned to connected physical qubits with the highest *** Quafu-Qcover allows us to retrieve quantum computing sampling results using a task ID at any time,enabling asynchronous ***,it incorporates modules for results preprocessing and visualization,facilitating an intuitive display of solutions for combinatorial optimization *** hope that Quafu-Qcover can serve as an instructive illustration for how to explore application problems on the Quafu cloud quantum computers.

Lithium–sulfur batteries have been recognised as highly promising next-generation batteries, due to their low cost and high theoretical energy density. Despite numerous advances in this technology over the last decade, its commercialisation is still a challenge that has not yet been achieved. Many efforts have been made to improve the problems that these batteries present, mainly by investigating different cathode manufacturing strategies, testing novel Li anodes, new additives in the electrolytes, and modified separators or interlayers. However, the characteristics of the current collectors used in the preparation of the electrodes have been rarely addressed. Three commercial collectors are commonly used in basic research on Li–S batteries: Al foil, carbon coated Al foil (Al-C), and carbon paper (gas diffusion layer, GDL). In this work, a detailed study of the electrochemical response of these commercial collectors has been carried out. The tests were carried out on two S composites formed by carbons of a different natures, commercial carbon black and synthetic N-doped graphene. In addition, the S impregnation method was different, using either melt diffusion at 155 ℃ or ethylenediamine as S solvent, respectively. In both systems, the results were similar – the electrodes supported on GDL delivered higher specific capacities than those supported on Al and Al-C, with minimal differences between the two. Of the different collector properties examined to explain this behaviour, namely Al corrosion, electrical conductivities, surface-level composition, and surface texture, only the latter had a significant effect in the performance of GDL-based electrodes. SeM images revealed a rough and cracked surface formed by the agglomerated carbon particles that give rise to a complex pore system, predominantly consisting of macropores. We report here the structural, surface morphology, mechanical, and current voltage characteristics of Zn1-xMxO ceramic samples with various x and M （0.00≤〈 x ≤ 0.20, M = Ni, Cu）. It is found that the considered dopants do not influence the well-known peaks related to the wurtzite structure of ZnO ceramics, while the shapes and the sizes of grains are clearly affected. The average crystalline diameters deduced from the SeM micrographs are between 2.06 μm and 4.8 μm for all samples. The oxygen element ratio is increased by both dopants. Interestingly, the potential barrier can be formed by adding Cu up to 0.20, while it is completely deformed by 0.025 Ni addition. The breakdown field can be enhanced up to 4138 V/cm by 0.025 Cu addition, followed by a decrease with further increase of Cu up to 0.20. On the other hand, a gradual decrease in Vickers microhardness is reported for both dopants, and the values in the Ni samples are higher compared to those in the Cu samples. The electricul conductivity is generally improved by Ni, while the addition of Cu improves it only in the over doped region （≥ 0.10）. These results are discussed in terms of the differences of valency and ferromagnetic ordering.

Northern peatlands store nearly one-third of terrestrial carbon(C)stocks while covering only 3%of the global landmass;nevertheless,the drivers of C cycling in these often-waterlogged ecosystems are different from those that control C dynamics in upland forested *** explore how multiple abiotic and biotic characteristics of bogs interact to shape microbial activity in a northern,forested bog,we added a labile C tracer(13C-labeled starch)to in situ peat mesocosms and correlated heterotrophic respiration with natural variation in several microbial predictor variables,such as enzyme activity and microbial biomass,as well as with a suite of abiotic variables and proximity to vascular plants *** found that peat moisture content was positively correlated with respiration and microbial activity,even when moisture levels exceeded total saturation,suggesting that access to organic matter substrates in drier environments may be limiting for microbial *** to black spruce trees decreased total and labile heterotrophic *** negative relationship may reflect the influence of tree evapotranspiration and peat shading effects;i.e.,microbial activity may decline as peat dries and cools near ***,we isolated the response of heterotrophic respiration to explore the variation in,and interactions among,multiple abiotic and biotic drivers that influence microbial *** approach allowed us to reveal the relative influence of individual drivers on C respiration in these globally important C sinks.

In the last 30 years,the scientific community has developed and proposed different models and numerical approaches for the study of vibrations induced by railway *** of them are formulated in the frequency/wave number domain and with a 2.5D ***-dimensional numerical models formulated in the time/space domain are less frequently used,mainly due to their high computational ***,these models present very attractive characteristics,such as the possibility of considering nonlinear behaviors or the modelling of excess pore pressure and non-homogeneous and non-periodic geometries in the longitudinal direction of the *** this study,two 3D numerical approaches formulated in the time/space domain are compared and experimentally *** first one consists of a finite element approach and the second one of a finite difference *** experimental validation in an actual case situated in Carregado(Portugal)shows an acceptable fitting between the numerical results and the actual measurements for both ***,there are some differences among *** study therefore includes some recommendations for their use in practical soil dynamics and geotechnical engineering.
