In this work,we.the.re.ically unlock the.pote.tial of Ho^(3+)-dope. InF3 fibe. for e.ficie.t~3.2μm lase. ge.e.ation(from the.5F4,5S2→5F5 transition),by e.ploying a nove. dual-wave.e.gth pumping sche.e.at 1150 nm and 980 nm,for the.first *** clad-couple. 1150 nm pumping of 5 W,~3.2μm powe. of 3.6 W has be.n pre.icte. with the.optical-to-optical e.ficie.cy of 14.4%.Furthe. e.ficie.t powe. scaling,howe.e.,is blocke. by the.output saturation with 980 nm *** alle.iate.this be.avior,the.cascade. 5I5→5I6 transition,targe.ing~3.9μm,has be.n activate. simultane.usly,the.e.ore.acce.e.ating the.population circulation be.we.n the.lase. uppe. le.e. 5F4,5S2 and long-live. 5I6 le.e. unde. 980 nm *** a re.ult,e.hance.~3.2μm powe. of 4.68 W has be.n obtaine. with optical-to-optical e.ficie.cy of 15.6%.Me.nwhile.the.3.9μm lase.,yie.ding powe. of 2.76 W with optical-to-optical e.ficie.cy of 9.2%,is the.re.ically achie.able.as we.l with a mode.ate.he.t load,of which the.pe.formance.is e.e. be.te. than the.prior e.pe.ime.tally and the.re.ically re.orte. Ho^(3+)-dope. InF3 fibe. lase.s e.itting at~3.9μm *** work de.onstrate. a ve.satile.platform for lase. ge.e.ation at~3.2μm and~3.9μm,thus providing the.ne. opportunitie. for many pote.tial applications,e.g.,polyme. proce.sing,infrare. counte.me.sure.,and fre.-space.communications.
