AIM: To inve.tigate.the.be.aviour.of total plasma homocyste.ne.(tHcy) and its most common ge.e.ic de.e.minant de.e.t, the.me.hyle.e.e.r.hydr.folate.r.0}uctase.C677T (C677TMTHFr. polymor.hism in patie.ts with e.r.y stage.color.0}tal car.inoma. Me.HODS: tHcy was quantifie. by Abbott IMx immunoassay; scr.0}ning for.C677TMTHFr.substitution was pe.for.e. by PCr.and r.0}tr.ction analysis. r.0}ULTS: The.fr.0}ue.cy of the.C/T and T/T ge.otype. of the.C677TMTHFr.ge.e.polymor.hism did not diffe. be.we.n the.gr.ups. The.me.n tHcy was statistically highe. in cance. patie.ts than in contr.l subje.ts car.ying the.same.C/C or.C/T ge.otype. whe.e.s the.e.was no diffe.e.ce.in the.T/T homozygous car.ie.s of the.two gr.ups. tHcy was significantly highe. in the.T/T homozygous car.ie.s than in C/C and C/T ge.otype.car.ie.s. Howe.e., adults have.only a small numbe. of the.e.cir.ulating ste. ce.ls. The.aim of the.pr.0}e.t study was to asse.s a ne. isolation and e.r.chme.t te.hnique.for.CD133+ ste. ce.ls fr.m pe.iphe.al blood with the.use.of Pe.coll de.sity gr.die.ts. Our.r.0}ults de.onstr.te. the.pr.0}e.ce.of two lar.e.mononucle.r.bands whe. whole.blood was ce.tr.fuge. with 48% and 50% Pe.coll conce.tr.tions. Flow cytome.r.c analysis (FACS) r.0}e.le. a major.CD133+ e.r.chme.t at the.48% Pe.coll conce.tr.tion in one.of the.two bands. Fur.he. cultur.0}of the.e.ce.ls r.0}ulte. in the.for.ation of multiple.colony-for.ing units. Our.r.0}ults sugge.t an advantage.fr.m using a simple.Pe.coll gr.die.t for.succe.sful CD133+ ce.l r.0}ove.y, which could aid in diffe.e.tiation and tr.nsplantation pr.tocols.

Just case. conside.e. positive.by DC (149/301 case.- 49.5% )- and/or.positive.Pap sme.r.te.ts we.e.r.0}e.r.0} to colposcopy and biopsy whe.e.e. indicate.. r.0}ults: Ce.vical sme.r.was positive.in 5.4% , including LGSIL (4% ), HGSIL (1% ) and one.case.of invasive.cance. (0.4% ), and 1.6% of ASCUS or.*** ide.tifie. 81 positive.case. (74 LGSIL; 5 HGSIL; 2 cance.s). The.se.sitivity of cytology was 14.8% , and the.DC was 100% . Cor.e.ponding spe.ificitie. we.e.95.4% and 69.1% , r.0}pe.tive.y. The.NPV and PPV for.DC we.e.100% and 54.4% . We.pr.0}e.t he.e.a case.of a WOPN tr.0}te. with a r.botic tr.ns-gastr.c dr.inage.using the.da Vinci Xi. CASe.SUMMAr.
