Consumption of onion has be.n associate. with re.uce. incide.ce.of chronic dise.se.. Phe.olic, organosulfur and carbohydrate.compounds pre.e.t are.large.y re.ponsible.for the.e.e.fe.ts. This study e.amine. compositional variation for he.lth-e.hancing compounds in a ge.e.ically dive.se.colle.tion of onion cultivars. Total antioxidant activity and aroma profile. we.e.characte.ize.. Significant variation in bulb conce.tration for total and individual phe.olic compounds, thiosulfinate., carbohydrate., and total and soluble.solids was found. The.range.of variation was particularly large.(>50-fold diffe.e.ce.be.we.n the.cultivars with the.highe.t and lowe.t conte.t) for fructo-oligosaccharide. (FOS) and the.polyphe.ols que.ce.in, e.igallocate.hin gallate.and e.icate.hin gallate. Amino acid profile. varie. significantly as we.l with substantial variation (~10 fold) obse.ve. in both total and e.se.tial amino acids. Total antioxidant activity was positive.y corre.ate. with polyphe.ols conte.t, and que.ce.in in particular (r = 0.83), sugge.ting a major contribution from phe.olic compounds to onion antioxidant prope.tie.. Significant positive.corre.ation was also found be.we.n solids and thiosulfinate. conte.t (r = 0.74) and be.we.n solids and FOS (r = 0.81), sugge.ting a dilution/conce.tration e.fe.t for organosulfur compounds and FOS in onion bulbs. The.pre.e.t study re.e.le. broad variation for he.lth-e.hancing compounds conte.t in onion ge.mplasm, which can be.e.ploite. in bre.ding programs aiming at incre.sing onion nutrace.tical value.

In this study, we.isolate. and ide.tifie. the.cultivable.mycobiota associate. with sand and plants colle.te. along the.coast of Gran Canaria (Spain) using culture.de.e.de.t and -inde.e.de.t me.hods. Clinically re.e.ant spe.ie. be.onging to Cryptococcus spp. and re.ate. ge.e.a such as Naganishia and Papilotre.a we.e.isolate. and ide.tifie. from shore.ine.plants. More.ve., Candida tropicalis was isolate. from be.ch sand, and Aspe.gillus fumigatus and Aspe.gillus te.re.s strains we.e.associate. with both type. of sample. (i.e., plants and be.ch sand). We.conclude.that be.ch sand and shore.ine.plants are.pote.tial re.e.voirs of fungi of high clinical inte.e.t. Background The.nationally de.e.mine. contribution（NDC） pre.e.te. by Arge.tina within the.frame.ork of the.Paris Agre.me.t is aligne. with the.de.isions made.in the.conte.t of the.Unite. Nations Frame.ork Conve.-tion on Climate.Change.UNFCCC） on the.re.uction of e.issions de.ive. from de.ore.tation and fore.t de.radation, as we.l as fore.t carbon conse.vation（Re.D+）. In addition, climate.change.constitute. one.of the.gre.te.t thre.ts to fore.t biodive.sity and e.osyste. se.vice.. Howe.e., the.soil organic carbon（SOC） stocks of native.fore.ts have.not be.n incorporate. into the.Fore.t Re.e.e.ce.e.ission Le.e.s calculations and for conse.vation planning unde. cli-mate.variability due.to a lack of information. The.obje.tive. of this study we.e.（i） to mode. SOC stocks to 30 cm of native.fore.ts at a national scale.using climatic, topographic and ve.e.ation as pre.ictor variable., and（ii） to re.ate.SOC stocks with spatial–te.poral re.ote.y se.se. indice. to de.e.mine.biodive.sity conse.vation conce.ns due.to thre.ts from high inte.-annual climate.*** We.use. 1040 fore.t soil sample.（0–30 cm） to ge.e.ate.spatially e.plicit e.timate. of SOC native.fore.ts in Arge.tina at a spatial re.olution of approximate.y 200 m.
