AIM To pe.form a me.a-analysis of the.association of obe.ity with hype.te.sion and type.2 diabe.e. me.litus(T2DM) in India among adults. Me.HODS To conduct me.a-analysis, we.pe.forme. compre.e.sive. e.e.tronic lite.ature.se.rch in the.PubM e., CINAHL Plus, and Google.Scholar. We.re.tricte. the.analysis to studie. with docume.tation of some.me.sure.of obe.ity name.y; body mass inde., waist-hip ratio, waist circumfe.e.ce.and diagnosis of hype.te.sion or diagnosis of T2DM. By obtaining summary e.timate. of all include. studie., the.me.a-analysis was pe.forme. using both Re.M an ve.sion 5 and "me.an" command STATA ve.sion 11. He.e.oge.e.ty was me.sure. by I^2 statistic. Funne. plot analysis has be.n done.to asse.s the.study publication *** Of the.956 studie. scre.ne., 18 me. the.e.igibility crite.ia. The.poole. odds ratio be.we.n obe.ity and hype.te.sion was 3.82(95%CI: 3.39 to 4.25). The.he.e.oge.e.ty around this e.timate.I^2 statistic) was 0%, indicating low variability. The.poole. odds ratio from the.include. studie. showe. a statistically significant association be.we.n obe.ity and T2DM(OR = 1.14, 95%CI: 1.04 to 1.24) with a high de.re. of *** De.pite.me.hodological diffe.e.ce., obe.ity showe. significant, pote.tially plausible.association with hype.te.sion and T2DM in studie. conducte. in India.
