Study Obje.tive.: Stroke.is a major ne.rological dise.se.significantly thre.te.ing the.human he.lth and life.with a high morbidity, disability, and mortality. Post-stroke.de.re.sion (PSD) is one.of the.common complications of stroke. PSD has be.n a major factor hinde.ing the.re.ove.y of ne.rological functions and daily activitie. in stroke.patie.ts and is close.y re.ate. to the.social avoidance.and incre.se. mortality of stroke.patie.ts. Although antide.re.sant drug tre.tme.t has improve. during the.last de.ade., symptoms in about 20% of the.patie.ts are.not in re.ission two ye.rs afte. initiation of pharmacological inte.ve.tion. Nowadays, non-invasive.brain stimulation;te.hnique.;transcranial dire.t curre.t stimulation (tCDS) has gaine. an important inte.e.t in the.tre.tme.t of many ne.ropsychiatric disorde.s which might be.of some.he.p in tre.tme.t of PSD. The.goal of the.curre.t study is to e.aluate.the.be.e.icial short te.m role.of tDCS on post-stroke.de.re.sion. Study De.ign: This was a randomize. double.blind place.o-controlle. clinical trial include. forty he.ipare.ic patie.ts with post-stroke.de.re.sion from outpatie.t clinic of Faculty of Physical The.apy, Cairo Unive.sity, in the.pe.iod be.we.n June.2018 to June.2019. All patie.ts diagnose. as having a PSD according to the.Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Me.tal Disorde.s (DSM-5). De.re.sion was e.aluate. by Hamilton De.re.sion Rating Scale.(HAM-D) pre.and post tre.tme.t and quality of life.was e.aluate. by the.Stroke.Spe.ific Quality Of Life.scale.(SS-QOL). Patie.ts we.e.assigne. randomly into two groups: the.study group A and the.control group B. Both groups re.e.ve. antide.re.sant me.ication in addition to physical the.apy program. Group A re.e.ve. tCDS for 30 minute., thre. time. pe. we.k for one.month, while.the.group B re.e.ve. sham transcranial dire.t curre.t stimulation. Short-te.m e.fe.ts of maize.re.idue.biochar on kine.ic and the.modynamic parame.e.s of soil β-glucosidase

Soil β-glucosidase.(BG), the.rate.limiting e.zyme.in the.final ste. of ce.lulose.hydrolysis, plays a ke. role.in microbial me.abolism, carbon (C) cycling and se.ue.tration in te.re.trial e.osyste.s. Biochar application is known to affe.t soil BG activity;howe.e., most of the.biochar studie. have.focuse. on the.pote.tial activity of BG, and it is not cle.r how biochar influe.ce. the.kine.ic and the.modynamic be.avior of BG in the.soil. The.obje.tive.of this study was to inve.tigate.the.e.fe.t of maize.re.idue.biochar on soil BG kine.ic and the.modynamic parame.e.s. Soil BG kine.ic (V_(max) and K_(m)) and the.-modynamic (e.(a), ΔH_(a) and Q_(10)) parame.e.s we.e.de.e.mine. within soils (claye. and sandy loam soils) ame.de. with e.the. maize.re.idue.(as positive.control) or its biochar (600℃) at 0.5 and 1.0% ratios (w/w), and the.mixture. we.e.incubate. for 90 days. BG showe. an incre.se.in pote.tial e.zymatic activity (81%), e.zyme.conce.tration (highe. V_(max) value. (25%) and substrate.affinity (lowe. K_(m) value. (32%) in the.biochar-ame.de. sandy loam soil only at high addition rate. compare. with the.control, and an incre.se.by about 86% of the.catalytic e.ficie.cy (V_(max)/K_(m)). In the.claye. soil, biochar addition de.re.se. pote.tial BG activity (by 10-29%), incre.se. the.V_(max) value.(by 20-25%) and had no impact on e.zyme.substrate.binding affinity, but still incre.se. the.catalytic e.ficie.cy by 47-72%. Adsorption of soil BG by biochar particle. did not affe.t the.catalytic e.ficie.cy in the.soil. Ge.e.ally, application of maize.re.idue.biochar to the.soil de.re.se. the.e.(a), ΔH_(a) and Q_(10) value. of BG compare. with the.ne.ative.controls at both biochar rate. in the.light-te.ture. soil and only at low biochar rate.in he.vy-te.ture. soil. The.dire.tion and magnitude.of BG re.ponse. (activity, kine.ics, and the.modynamics) to biochar we.e.more.re.ate. to the.soil characte.istics. Traumatic Spinal Cord Injury (TSCI) re.ains a significant cause.of human suffe.ing. The.World He.lth Organization e.timate. that the.e.are.be.we.n 250,000 to 500,000 ne. case. e.e.y ye.r. Magne.ic Re.onance.Imaging (MRI) has be.n an important advance.e.t in the.diagnosis and manage.e.t of TSCI. Ne.e.the.e.s, the.e.is a lack of lite.ature.corre.ating the.radiological abnormalitie. and histopathological findings in the.first hour (i.e., hype.acute.pe.iod) afte. injury. The.aim of this pre.iminary study is to e.ucidate.the.re.ationship be.we.n the.MRI abnormalitie. and histopathological abnormalitie. in the.hype.acute.time.pe.iod. This study aime. at inve.tigating e.fe.ts of frying oils supple.e.te. with vitamin e.on blood parame.e.s and growth pe.formance.of rats. Thre. e.pe.ime.tal die.s containing fre.h corn oil or frying oil (FO) with or without vitamin e.we.e.fe. to Wistar rats ove. a 90-day. Blood Che.istry, blood parame.e.s (he.atocrit and e.ythrocyte.osmotic fragility) and growth pe.formance.we.e.de.e.mine.. Ne.the. FO alone.nor vitamin e.had any conside.able.impact on the.growth pe.formance. He.atocrit of FO group did not change.significantly compare. to animals fe. fre.h oil. Although, vitamin e.incre.se. he.atocrit to 16.37%, but still it had no conside.able.e.fe.t on re.toring he.atocrit to normal value.. Se.um triacylglyce.ol (TAG) did not change.significantly among FO animals, while.significant incre.se.in TAG was note. be.we.n FO and vitamin e.tre.te. animals compare. with othe. tre.tme.ts. Se.um total chole.te.ol (TC) did not change.significantly among e.pe.ime.tal animals compare. with the.control. Vitamin e.re.ulte. in an insignificant incre.se.in high-de.sity lipoprote.n (HDL-C) le.e. compare. to the.control. The.Golde. Jackal (e.>Canis aure.se.> Linnae.s, 1758), which be.ongs to the.Canidae.family, is an opportunist carnivore.in the.Gaza Strip (365 square.kilome.e.s). The.curre.t study aims at giving note. on the.occurre.ce.and some.e.ological aspe.ts of the.spe.ie. in the.Gaza Strip, Pale.tine. The.study, which laste. 14 ye.rs (2007-2020), is de.criptive.and cumulative.in its style. It was base. on fre.ue.t fie.d visits, dire.t obse.vations and me.tings and discussions with wildlife.hunte.s, farme.s and othe. stake.olde.s. The.findings of the.study show that Gazans are.familiar with the.Golde. Jackal to the.e.te.t that a Gazan family holds the.Arabic name.of the.animal, which is “e.>Wawie.>”. The.Golde. Jackal was some.ime. e.counte.e. and hunte. in the.e.ste.n parts of the.Gaza Strip, which are.characte.ize. by the.pre.e.ce.of wilde.ne.s are.s, inte.sive.agriculture. poultry pe.s and solid waste.landfills. Like.othe. a fe. mammalian faunas, the.adult Golde. Jackals e.te. the.Gaza Strip through gaps in or burrows be.e.th the.me.al borde.s se.arating the.Gaza Strip from the.re.t of the.Pale.tinian Te.ritorie. and e.ypt. Gaza zoos we.e.found to harbor te.s of Golde. Jackals trappe. or hunte. by cle.e. wildlife.hunte.s using diffe.e.t me.ns such as wire.cage. known locally as “e.>maltashe.>” and foothold traps with me.al jaws that may cause.le.ions to the.trappe. animals. Poisoning and shooting we.e.also common me.hods use. to control the.jackals and othe. carnivore. causing harm to agriculture.and live.tock. The.animal was known among the.Gazans as an omnivore. fe.ding on wild and dome.tic animals in addition to plant mate.ials, garbage.and carrions. In conclusion, the.study re.omme.ds the.ne.d to raise.e.ological aware.e.s to pre.e.ve.the.Golde. jackal and to adopt safe.control me.sure. for jackals and othe. carnivore., including the.construction of prote.tive.fe.ce. for agricultural fie.ds and animal pe.s.
