Ghana, an SSA country, face. the.proble. of he.lthcare.budge.ary difficultie. and the.additional impact of AD as a conse.ue.ce.of incre.sing population strata of old age. pe.sons (OAPs) due.to the.de.ographic transition e.fe.t. This article.use. e.ample. of known patie.ts’ illne.s course. to give.a pe.spe.tive.on the.live. e.pe.ie.ce.of patie.ts with de.e.tia (PWD) in Ghana, living amongst a populace.with a culture.of stigmatization of PWD, and a re.ative.y fragile.public me.tal he.lth syste. (PMHS) for those.with me.tal illne.s, including AD. The.live. e.pe.ie.ce.of AD patie.ts is characte.ise. by stigmatisation, discrimination, non-inclusive.e.s, diminishe. dignity and human rights abuse. in the.face.of the.r me.tal disability, and e.e.tually de.th.
