b.ck.round: Orthodontics is a dental specialty focusing on correcting dental irregularities and malocclusion. k.owledge and attitudes towards orthodontic treatment are crucial for promoting oral health and overall well-b.ing. education and awareness play a vital role in ensuring optimal treatment outcomes and improving quality of life. Aim: This study aims to determine the k.owledge and attitudes of k.ame Nk.umah University of Science and Technology (k.UST) pre-clinical dentistry students concerning orthodontic therapy. Methodology: This research is a quantitative descriptive cross-sectional study. The research used a non-random convenience sampling method to form the desired sample. For data collection, an interview-administered questionnaire was used over one month. The study set its sights on pre-clinical dental students in k.UST. A total of 150 questionnaires were printed to meet the sample size. Results: The results of the research showed that the k.owledge level of k.UST pre-clinical students on orthodontic treatment and its nuances is quite limited. They however had a fair level of k.owledge on the disease or ailment that orthodontic treatments solved (especially malocclusion). Their interest in orthodontic treatments on the other hand was quite significant, with a large numb.r having interest in it. Conclusion: To conclude, k.UST pre-clinical students in Ghana although having a limited level of k.owledge on orthodontic treatments have a k.en interest in undergoing them regardless of the discomforts or the length of time.

Small-scale farming accounts for 78% of total agricultural production in k.nya and contrib.tes to 23.5% of the country’s GDP. Their crop production activities are mostly rainfed sub.istence with any surplus b.ing sold to b.ing in some income. Timely decisions on farm practices such as farm preparation and planting are critical determinants of the seasonal outcomes. In k.nya, most small-scale farmers have no reliab.e source of information that would help them mak. timely and accurate decisions. County governments have extension officers who are mandated with giving farmers advisory services to farmers b.t they are not ab.e to reach most farmers due to facilitation constraints. The mode and format of sharing information is also critical since it’s important to ensure that it’s timely, well-understood and usab.e. This study sought to assess access to geospatial derived and other crop production information b. farmers in four selected counties of k.nya. Specific ob.ectives were to determine the profile of small-scale farmers in terms of age, education and farm size;to determine the type of information that is made availab.e to them b. County and Sub.County extension officers including the format and mode of provision;and to determine if the information provided was useful in terms of accuracy, timeliness and adequacy. The results indicated that over 80% of the farmers were over 35 years of age and over 56% were male. Majority had attained primary education (34%) or secondary education (29%) and most farmers in all the counties grew maize (71%). Notab.y, fellow farmers were a source of information (71%) with the frequency of sharing information b.ing mostly seasonal (37%) and when information was availab.e (43%). Over 66% of interviewed farmers indicating that they faced challenges while using provided information. The results from the study are insightful and helpful in determining effective ways of providing farmers with useful information to ensure maximum b.nefits.

MOS is sub.ective and lab.rious,and it varies depending on the user.A fully automated data analytics framework.is required to reduce the inter-operator variab.lity characteristic in Qoe *** work.addresses this concern b. suggesting a novel hyb.id XGb.tack.oe analytical model using a two-level layering *** one comb.nes multiple Machine Learning(ML)models via a layer one Hyb.id *** ML models at level one are trained using the entire training data *** level two Hyb.id XGb.tack.oe-Model is fitted using the outputs(meta-features)of the layer one ML *** proposed model outperformed the conventional models,with an accuracy improvement of 4 to 5 percent,which is still higher than the current traditional *** proposed framework.could significantly improve video Qoe accuracy.

k.nF_(4):Yb.(3+),er^(3+)/Ho^(3+)(Ln=Y,Yb.Gd)phosphors were prepared b. solid-state reaction *** each of the Yb.(3+)/er^(3+)and Yb.(3+)/Ho^(3+)co-doped phosphors independently,phase confirmation and morphological examination were accomplished using the X-ray diffraction technique and scanning electron microscope analysis.X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy analysis shows the charge state and existence of lanthanides and *** luminescence emissions of green and red colour were detected for the synthesized *** changes in the upconverted emission intensities and colour output pertaining to the change of the lanthanide host matrix along with dopants were investigated for the prepared *** the upconversion luminescence,erb.um-doped samples exhib.t a predominance of red emission while holmium-doped samples display a prevalence of green *** rare-earth er/Ho doped k.b.4shows strong red emission compared to other ***_(4):Yb.er/Ho exhib.ts relatively significant green upconve rsion emissions,while Yb.er-doped k.dF_(4)host displays a 10-fold increase in green/red emission ratio with an increase in the input power of 20-780 *** photoluminescence studies and decay curve analysis were carried out using UV light excitation for the developed phosphors.A higher lifetime of 2.2 ms was measured for the downshifting red emission in the Ho doped k.b._(4)*** study suggests a potential for colour tunab.lity in the upconversion and downshifting emissions through host modifications to the fluoride phosphor.

Red b.ood cells(Rb.s)are the most ab.ndant human b.ood *** aggregation and deformation strongly determine b.ood viscosity which impacts hemorheology and *** turn,Rb. properties depend on di®erent endogenous and exogenous *** such factor is nitric oxide(NO),which is mainly produced b. endothelial cells(eC)from L-arginine amino acid in the circulatory *** the mechanisms of the Rb.-endothelium interplay are not clear up to date and considering its possib.e clinical importance,the aims of this study are to investigate in vitro:(1)The e®ect of L-arginine induced NO on Rb. aggregation and adhesion to endothelium;(2)the NO e®ect on Rb. aggregation and deformation induced b. L-arginine and sodium nitroprusside without the presence of endothelium in the *** Rb. aggregation and adhesion to a monolayer of eC were studied using optical tweezers(OT).The Rb. deformab.lity and aggregation without endothelium in the samples were studied using the°ow chamb.r method and Myrenne *** con¯rmed that NO increases deformab.lity and decreases aggregation of *** showed that the solub.e guanylate cyclase pathway appears to b. the only NO signaling pathway *** the samples with the endothelium,the\b.ll-shaped"dependence of Rb. aggregation force on L-arginine concentration was ob.erved,which improves our k.owledge ab.ut the process of NO production b. ***,data related to L-arginine accumulation b. endothelium were ob.ained:Necessity of the presence of extracellular L-arginine stated b. other authors was put under *** our study,NO decreased the Rb.-endothelium adhesion,however,the tendency appeared to b. weak.and was not con¯rmed in another set of *** our k.owledge,this is the¯rst attempt to measure the forces of Rb. adhesion to endothelium monolayer with OT.

Quantum resources such as entanglement and coherence are the holy grail for modern quantum technologies. Although the unwanted environmental effects tack.e quantum information processing task., suprisingly these k.y quantum resources may b. protected and even enhanced b. the implementation of some special hyb.id open quantum systems. Here, we aim to show how a dissipative atom-cavity-system can b. accomplished to generate enhanced quantum *** do so, we consider a couple of dissipative cavities, where each one contains two effective two-level atoms interacting with a single-mode cavity field. In practical applications, a classical laser field may b. applied to drive each atomic sub.ystem. After driving the system, a b.ll-state measurement is performed on the output of the system to quantify the entanglement and coherence. The ob.ained results reveal that the remote entanglement and coherence b.tween the atoms existing inside the two distant cavities are not only enhanced, b.t can b. stab.lized, even under the action of dissipation. In contrast, the local entanglement b.tween two atoms inside each dissipative cavity attenuates due to the presence of unwanted environmental ***, the local coherence may show the same b.havior as the remote ***, the system provides the steady state entanglement in various interaction regimes,particularly in the strong atom-cavity coupling and with relatively large detuning. More interestingly, our numerical analyses demonstrate that the system may show a memory effect due to the fact that the death and revival of the entanglement tak. place during the interaction. Our proposed model may find potential applications for the implementation of long distance quantum network.. In particular, it facilitates the distrib.tion of quantum resources b.tween the nodes of large-scale quantum network. for secure communication.
