Discoidin Domain Receptor 2(DDR2)is a collagen-activated receptor kinase that,together with integrins,is required for cells to respond to the extracellular ***2 loss-of-function mutations in humans and mice cause severe defects in skeletal growth and ***,the cellular functions of Ddr2 in bone are not *** and lineage analysis showed selective expression of Ddr2 at early stages of bone formation in the resting zone and proliferating chondrocytes and *** with these findings,Ddr2^(+)cells could differentiate into hypertrophic chondrocytes,osteoblasts,and osteocytes and showed a high degree of colocalization with the skeletal progenitor marker,Gli1.A conditional deletion approach showed a requirement for Ddr2 in Gli1-positive skeletal progenitors and chondrocytes but not mature ***,Ddr2 knockout in limb bud chondroprogenitors or purified marrow-derived skeletal progenitors inhibited chondrogenic or osteogenic differentiation,*** work establishes a cell-autonomous function for Ddr2 in skeletal progenitors and cartilage and emphasizes the critical role of this collagen receptor in bone development.

Over the past decade,miRNAs have emerged as genetic factors that can influence immune functions.1 They act by post-transcriptionally downregulating gene expression either by degrading target mRNAs or by repressing their translation.2 Linking miRNA expression to disease was first accomplished by comparing outcomes in normal animals with those in miR-155 knockout animals.3 Our group also used a viral pathogen to show that knocking out miR-155 resulted in less severe inflammatory lesions caused by herpes simplex virus infection,yet animals without miR-155 became more susceptible to developing viral encephalitis.

Wireless multimedia sensor networks drastically stretch the horizon of traditional monitoring and surveillance systems. Most existing research has utilized Zigbee or WiFi as the communication technology. Both technologies use ultra-high frequencies (primarily 2.4 GHz) and suffer from a relatively short transmission range (i.e., 100 m line-of-sight). The objective of this study is to assess the feasibility and potential of transmitting image information using RF modules with lower frequencies (e.g., 433 MHz) to achieve a larger-scale deployment as in a city scenario. The Arduino platform is used because of its low cost and simplicity. Details of hardware properties are provided in this article, and we investigate optimum configurations for the system. After achieving an initial range test transmission distance of more than 2000 m line-of-sight, the prototype network is installed in a real life city plot for further examination of performance. A range of suitable applications is proposed and suggestions for future research are provided.

Constipation is a common community health *** are many factors that are widely thought to be associated with constipation but real-world evidence of these associations is difficult to *** potential risk factors may be categorised as demographic,lifestyle and health-related *** review presents the available evidence for each factor by an assessment of quantitative data from cross-sectional studies of community-dwelling adults published over the last 30 *** appears that there is evidence of an association between constipation and female gender,residential location,physical activity and some health-related factors such as self-rated health,some surgery,certain medical conditions and certain *** available evidence for most other factors is either conflicting or ***,further research is necessary to determine if each factor is truly associated with constipation and whether it can be regarded as a potential risk *** is recommended that studies investigating a broad range of factors are conducted in populations in community *** analyses should be performed to account for all possible confounding *** this way,valuable evidence can be accumulated for a better understanding of potential risk factors for constipation in the community.

Objectives:To detail the US multi-institutional experience with the Occlutech©(Occlutech International AB,Helsingborg,Sweden)atrial flow regulator(AFR)in children and adults with acquired or congenital heart ***:The creation of a long-term atrial communication is desirable in several cardiovascular disease phenotypes,most notably pulmonary arterial hypertension,disorders of increased left ventricular filling and increased cavopulmonary pressures in patients with a Fontan type ***:Patients were identified for inclusion from the AFR device manufacturer *** was collected using a RedCap database following IRB approval.8 weeks of follow up data was sought for each patient based on available *** was analyzed and summarized using ***:We report the experience of 6 US centers in the implantation of AFR devices in 15 patients,across a wide age range,with different disease phenotypes and a variety of *** was technically successful in all patients and improvement was noted in both clinical and hemodynamic *** were no immediate or intermediate term complications reported.3 patients died remote from *** deaths were not felt to be related to the AFR device or related procedural ***:Compassionate use of the AFR device in children and adults with congenital&acquired heart disease is technically feasible and produces beneficial short term hemodynamic and symptomatic *** uptake of this technique and treatment at specialist centers has the potential to provide significant benefits to a variety of complex patients with currently limited treatment options and indeterminate prognosis.

OBJECTIVE:To determine the difference in prevention of chemotherapy-induced fatigue between time-acupointsspace acupuncture(ATAS)administered weekly compared to sham acupuncture and non-acupuncture in patients with early breast cancer receiving adjuvant chemotherapy by epirubicine-cyclophosphamide(EC)followed by paclitaxel,as measured by the multidimensional fatigue inventory(MFI)over the previous week and Visual Analogue Scale measuring fatigue(VAS-F),and to evaluate the effects of ATAS on selfreported neuropathy pain,sleep,anxiety and ***:In this multicenter clinical trial,we have randomized patients into 3 groups:ATAS,Sham and nonacupuncture with an unequal randomization of 2∶1∶1.A cloud related electronical clinical report form and smartphone platform was established for data *** with a history of stageⅠ-Ⅲbreast cancer scheduled to receive adjuvant *** will be delivered once a week during chemotherapy with VAS-F *** order to qualify and quantify the mechanism of fatigue induced by chemotherapy with or without acupuncture,an evaluation of immune profiling was incorporate in this ***:The presence and seriousness of chemotherapy-induced fatigue should be considered in therapeutic programs for early breast cancer *** induced by adjuvant chemotherapy in patients with breast cancer remains a major concern affecting the quality of life ***,we do not have effective pharmacological interventions *** clinical trials of acupuncture in preventing chemotherapyinduced fatigue in patients with early breast cancer have not been ***:The findings of the trial will allow us to determine the effects of acupuncture treatment *** will also be able to confirm whether ATAS is better than sham acupuncture and non-acupuncture treatments.

The majority of spatial data reveal some degree of spatial dependence. The term “spatial dependence” refers to the tendency for phenomena to be more similar when they occur close together than when they occur far apart in space. This property is ignored in machine learning (ML) for spatial domains of application. Most classical machine learning algorithms are generally inappropriate unless modified in some way to account for it. In this study, we proposed an approach that aimed to improve a ML model to detect the dependence without incorporating any spatial features in the learning process. To detect this dependence while also improving performance, a hybrid model was used based on two representative algorithms. In addition, cross-validation method was used to make the model stable. Furthermore, global moran’s I and local moran were used to capture the spatial dependence in the residuals. The results show that the HM has significant with a R2 of 99.91% performance compared to RBFNN and RF that have 74.22% and 82.26% as R2 respectively. With lower errors, the HM was able to achieve an average test error of 0.033% and a positive global moran’s of 0.12. We concluded that as the R2 value increases, the models become weaker in terms of capturing the dependence.

Preparing Health Professionals to Provide Care to Individuals with Disabilities

Aim To review the perceptions of dental/medical educators and their students in the United States on the adequacy of didactic and clinical preparation to provide service for individuals with disabilities. Methodology An e-mailed questionnaire with follow-up was sent to 198 deans of dental/medical schools, 1,628 directors of residency programs in nine medical/dental residency programs, 427 medical students in 12 medical schools, and 368 health related organizations, facilities and programs. Results More than half （58%） of the responding deans of medical schools and 50% of the deans of dental schools reported that a curriculum for patients with disabilities was not a high priority at their school. A majority （61%） of deans of medical schools, and 47% of the deans of dental schools, reported that their graduates were competent to treat patients with disabilities. However, majorities of dental/ medical school seniors and graduates expressed inadequate competency in the care of these patients. A majority of the directors of medical/dental residencies indicated a need for additional training for their residents. Conclusion There is need for increased didactic and clinical preparation of dental/medical school graduates in the care of individuals with special health needs. The interest expressed by health profession educators in an effort to develop appropriate curriculum modules provides an opportunity to prepare new graduates for the care of an increasing population of individuals with disabilities.
