Hanjeli(Coix lacryma-jobi L.)and moringa leaf(Moringa oleifera)remain underutilised despite their high nutritional value for *** the present research,cookies made from hanjeli(Coix lacryma-jobi L.)with moringa leaf flour(Moringa oleifera)have been *** cookies were measured for nutritional composition and shelf life *** shelf life evaluation of hanjeli-moringa cookies was calculated using two approaches,which were accelerated shelf life testing(ASLT)methods with critical moisture content and the Arrhenius *** results of the nutritional composition analysis showed that hanjeli-moringa cookies contain protein(9.14%),fat(24.67%),carbohydrates(61.62%),crude fibre(4.85%),and energy(505.01 Kcal).Using the Arrhenius method,the shelf life of hanjeli-moringa cookies was 95.46 days at room temperature and 97.63 days at 20℃.Meanwhile,the shelf life of cookies using the critical moisture content approach was 170.57 *** life is influenced by initial moisture content,critical water content of the product,packaging surface area and permeability,saturated vapour pressure,and slope sorption isotherm *** formulated cookies have significant amounts of nutrients that are acceptable and safe for consumption,with guaranteed desirable sensory *** result of this study shows that hanjeli-moringa cookies can be used as an alternative food for people who need high energy in a practical way of serving or ready to eat.

Optimization of methane conversion to liquid fuels over W-Cu/ZSM-5 catalysts by response surface methodology

The conversion of methane to liquid fuels is still in the development process. The modified HZSM-5 by loading with Tungsten （W） enhanced its heat resistant performance, and the high reaction temperature （800℃） did not lead to the loss of W component by sublimation. The loading of ZSM-5 with Tungsten and Copper （Cu） resulted in an increment in the methane conversion, CO2, and C5＋ selectivities. The high methane conversion and C5＋ selectivity, and low H2O selectivity are obtained by using W/3.0Cu/ZSM-5. The optimization of methane conversion over 3.0 W/3.0Cu/ZSM-5 under different temperature and oxygen concentration using response surface methodology （RSM） are studied. The optimum point for methane conversion is 19% when temperature is 753 ℃, and oxygen concentration is 12%. The highest C5＋ selectivity is 27% when temperature is 751 ℃. and oxwen concentration is 11%.

Reusable high performance of calcined Mg/Al hydrotalcite for the removal of Navy Blue and Yellow F3G dyes

Water pollution with dye chemicals from apparel industries is a serious problem in the *** most of dyes are potentially have toxic and carcinogenic effects on human,it is important to remove them before they are discharged to the *** many methods available for dyes removal in water,adsorption is the easiest and economically feasible that has no major obstacle for practical *** the present study,we tested calcined Mg/Al hydrotalcite(Mg/Al CHT)prepared by coprecipitation technique as an adsorbent for the removal of Navy Blue(NB)and Yellow F3G(YF3G)***/Al CHT was characterized by using a Fourier transform infrared(FTIR)spectrometer,an X-ray diffractometer(XRD)and a scanning electron microscope(SEM).The results showed that Mg/Al CHT was highly effective as an adsorbent for the removal of NB and YF3G under mild-acidic condition(pH 4)with removal capacities(b)according to Langmuir isotherm model were 7.97×10^(–4) and 5.80×10^(–4)mol·g^(-1),*** study showed that the adsorption of NB and YF3D on Mg/Al CHT followed pseudosecond order with rate constant(k_(p2))11.57×10^(3) and 11.75×103 g·mol^(-1)·min-1,*** spent adsorbent can be easily regenerated by simply calcining it at 450℃ for 3 *** test on the mixture of NB and YF3G showed that the adsorption capacity of Mg/Al CHT was eightfold higher than that of Mg/Al HT and the value was maintained with repeated use.

Since the World Health Organization(WHO) declared COVID-19, the disease caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2), as a pandemic in March 2020, and more than 117 million people worldwide have been confirmed to have been infected. Scientists, medical professionals,and other stakeholders are racing against time to find and develop effective medicines for ***, no drug with high efficacy to treat SARS-CoV-2 infection has been approved. With the increasing popularity of gene therapy, scientists have explored the utilization of small RNAs such as microRNAs(miRNAs) as therapeutics. miRNAs are non-coding RNAs with high affinity for the 30-UTRs of targeted messenger RNAs(mRNAs). Interactions between host cells and viral genomes may induce the upregulation or downregulation of various miRNAs. Therefore, understanding the expression patterns of these miRNAs and their functions will provide insights into potential miRNA-based therapies. This review systematically summarizes the potential targets of miRNA-based therapies for SARS-CoV-2 infection and examines the viability of possible transfection methods.

Resource allocation strategies for survival and reproduction by an invasive pest in response to intermittent fasting

Intermittent fasting(IF)is a type of dietary restriction that involves fasting periods in intervals,which has been used as a strategy to improve health and extend *** fasting is common during the process of biological invasions in ***,it is not clear how invasive animals adjust their resource allocations to survival and reproduction when periodical starvation ***,we used Tetranychus ludeni,a haplodiploid spider mite and an important invasive pest of horticultural crops around the world,to investigate the effects of IF on its life history *** show that IF increased the longevity in females but not in males probably because of differences in resource storage,metabolic rate,and mating cost between *** response to IF,females traded off fecundity and egg size but not the number of daughters for longevity gain,suggesting that *** females can adjust their life history strategies for population survival and growth during invasion *** produced by fasted females realized the same hatch rate and resultant young had the same survival rate as those by unfasted *** addition,IF had transgenerational maternal effects which prolonged offspring development *** suggest that the longer immature developmental period can increase the body size of resulting adults,compensating egg size loss for offspring *** findings provide insight into resource allocations as responses to fasting,knowledge of which can be used for evaluation of pest invasions and for management of animal survival and reproduction by dietary regulations.

OsSCE1 Encoding SUMO E2-Conjugating Enzyme Involves in Drought Stress Response of Oryza sativa

Small ubiquitin-like modifier(SUMO)-conjugating enzymes are involved in post-translational regulatory processes in eukaryotes, including the conjugation of SUMO peptides to protein substrate(SUMOylation). SUMOylation plays an important role in improving plant tolerance to abiotic stress such as salt, drought, heat and cold. Herein, we reported the isolation of OsSCE1(LOC_Os10 g39120) gene encoding a SUMO-conjugating enzyme from rice(Oryza sativa cv. Nipponbare) and its functional validation in response to drought stress. The E2 enzyme, Os SCE1, is one of three key enzymes involved in the conjugation of SUMO to its target proteins. Activated SUMO is transferred to the cysteine of an E2 enzyme and then to the target lysine residue of the substrate, with or without the help of an E3 SUMO ligase. Expression of OsSCE1 was strongly induced by polyethylene glycol 6000(PEG6000) treatment, which suggested OsSCE1 may be involved in the drought stress response. Overexpression of OsSCE1(OsSCE1-OX) in Nipponbare reduced the tolerance to drought stress. Conversely, the drought tolerance was slightly improved by the knockdown of OsSCE1(OsSCE1-KD). These results were further supported by measurement of proline content in OsSCE1-OX and OsSCE1-KD transgenic lines under induced drought stress, which showed OsSCE1-KD transgenic lines accumulated higher proline content than the wild type, whereas OsSCE1-OX line had lower proline content than the wild type. These findings suggested OsSCE1 may play a role as a negative regulator in response to drought stress in rice.

Over the past decades,epidemiological studies have concluded that a diet rich in plant-derived products plays a pivotal role in human ***(3,3’,4’,7-tetrahydroxyflavone)is a hydrophobic polyphenolic compound primarily found in edible plants(***,blueberry,apple,grape,persimmon,kiwi,and cucumber).Various preclinical studies have revealed that fisetin exhibits a wide range of pharmacological effects such as antioxidant,antiinflammatory,anti-carcinogenic,anti-osteoporotic,antimicrobial,and anti-diabetic ***,the pharmacological in vitro and in vivo studies on fisetin are discussed in this ***,this review would be useful for further study regarding the potential of natural products,notably fisetin,and its therapeutic potential for the prevention and treatment of diseases.

Methane to Liquid Hydrocarbons over Tungsten-ZSM-5 and Tungsten Loaded Cu/ZSM-5 Catalysts

Metal containing ZSM-5 can produce higher hydrocarbons in methane oxidation. Many researchers have studied the applicability of HZSM-5 and modify ZSM-5 for methane conversion to liquid hydrocarbons, but their research results still lead to low conversion, low selectivity and low heat resistance. The modified HZSM-5, by loading with tungsten （W）, could enhance its heat resistant performance, and the high reaction temperature （800 ℃） did not lead to a loss of the W component by sublimation. The loading of HZSM-5 with tungsten and copper （Cu） resulted in an increment in the methane conversion as well as CO2 and C5＋ selectivities. In contrast, CO, C2-3 and H2O selectivities were reduced. The process of converting methane to liquid hydrocarbons （C5＋） was dependent on the metal surface area and the acidity of the zeolite. High methane conversion and C5＋ selectivity, and low H20 selectivity are obtained over W/3.0Cu/HZSM.

Influence of the Indonesian Throughflow on the upwelling off the east coast of South Java

A wave–tide–circulation coupled model is used to simulate upwelling off the south coast of Java, Indonesia. The results show that the vertical velocity off East Java is stronger than other parts in this area. The strongest vertical velocity is located approximately at 80 m *** annual averaged values of upwelling are 2.3 9 10-6and 1.06 9 10-5m/s for south of West Java and south of East Java, respectively. The vertical velocity from the model shows that upwelling off West Java has seasonal variability, while it is quite steady and strong off East *** numerical experiments show that the wind is not the dominant factor for the steady upwelling off the southern part of East Java. It is then hypothesized that the Indonesian Throughflow(ITF) may be responsible for the upwelling. To test this hypothesis, two scenarios are implemented, both of which block the outflow of the *** study shows that the ITF plays a key role in the formation of East Java upwelling. The effect of the ITF can account for about 55 %–65 % of the upwelling.

The aimof this study was to investigate titaniummembranes(TMs)layered between poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid)(PLGA)containing fluvastatin(FS)for use in guided bone *** consisting of PLGA,FS-containing PLGA(PLGA–FS),TM layered between PLGA(TM–PLGA)and TM layered between FS-containing PLGA(TM–PLGA–FS)were prepared,and their mechanical and chemical properties were *** TM groups showed statistically significant differences,in terms of tensile strength and elastic modulus,when compared to the PLGA *** release of FS was demonstrated to be higher in the TM–PLGA–FS group than the PLGA–FS group after Day *** effect of membrane implantation on the calvaria of Wistar rats was measured using micro-computed tomography(micro-CT)and morphometrical analyses,as well as histological *** 4weeks,the TM–PLGA–FS and TM–PLGA groups were found to have lower bone mineral density but higher bone formation,when compared to the control and PLGA *** 8weeks,the use of TM–PLGA–FS membranes significantly enhanced bone formation in the calvaria model,compared to the other *** results suggest that a TM layered between PLGA containing FS potentially enhances bone formation,thus showing good potential as a GBR membrane.
