Palmer amaranth, sicklepod and pitted morningglory are the three most common and troublesome weeds in soybean in South Carolina. They exhibit very aggressive growth capabilities and if left uncontrolled in fields will cause significant reductions in soybean yields. Dicamba and 2,4-D herbicides are currently having a resurgence in usage due to the recent commercialization of soybean trait technologies with tolerance to these herbicides. Dicamba and 2,4-D when tank mixed with glufosinate and glyphosate may offer additional weed control to resistant weeds through the process of herbicide synergism. Greenhouse experiments were conducted in 2013 at Edisto Research and Education Center near Blackville, SC to evaluate the efficacy of glyphosate, glufosinate, dicamba and 2,4-D treatments alone and in combination on Palmer amaranth, sicklepod, and pitted morningglory at selected heights. Results suggested that glufosinate alone provided the overall best control for all 3 weed species. Glyphosate alone provided the lowest control of all 3 species at all heights. Synergism or improved sicklepod control was observed when glufosinate was tank mixed with dicamba. However, as sicklepod increased in height, glufosinate + 2,4-D or dicamba combination offered the best control compared to glufosinate alone (90% versus 86% in 20 cm plants and 87% versus 85% in 30 cm plant). In the 5 cm Palmer amaranth, decreased control was observed when glyphosate or glufosinate was tank mixed with 2,4-D. These experiments showed that glufosinate alone and/or in combination with 2,4-D or dicamba was the overall best treatment on the three broadleaf weed species.

一、真正的线路泄漏测试通常把线路泄漏测试规定为许多产品安全标准的组成部分。这种测试往往规定为工程技术例行测试,不过也可以规定为一种例行生产线测试。对电器产品在被测物(DUT)工作于它的额定电源电压或110％的额定规定输入电压的条件下进行这种测试。它是设计来测量在正常的和单一性故障的情况下可能流过人体的泄漏电流。在日常使用当中在接地线或中线断开或者DUT输入的极性倒转,以及任何这些事故的组合出现时就会发生故障的情况。产品安全标准规定模拟人体阻抗的测量装置(MD),MD通过在被测电路上提供负载来模拟人体与该电路接触。这精确地测量出当一个人在被测的产品工作于正常的和单一性故障两种情况下接触电路时可能流过人体的电流。把MD放在断开的接地电路中或者让其接触该DUT的外壳,这样来测量出在该产品工作时可能流回系统中线的泄漏电流。

TIFA(TNF receptor associated factor(TRAF)-interacting protein with a Forkhead-associated(FHA) domain),also called T2 BP,was first identified using a yeast two-hybrid *** contains a FHA domain,which directly binds phosphothreonine and phosphoserine,and a consensus TRAF6-binding ***-mediated oligomerization and polyubiquitinylation of TRAF6 mediates signaling downstream of the Tumor necrosis factor alpha receptor 1(TNFaR-I) and interleukin-1/Toll-like receptor 4(TLR4) *** TIFA expression in hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) tissues microarrays,we noted marked decreases TIFA reactivity in tumor versus control *** agreement,we found that HCC cell lines show reduced TIFA expression levels versus normal liver *** TIFA expression in HCC cell lines promoted two independent apoptosis signaling pathways:the induction of p53 and cell cycle arrest,and the activation of caspase-8 and *** contrast,the expression of a non-oligomerizing mutant of TIFA impacted cells minimally,and suppression of TIFA expression protected cells from *** bearing TIFA overexpression hepatocellular xenografts develop smaller tumors versus TIFA mutant tumors;terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase dUTP nick end labeling staining demonstrates increased cell apoptosis,and decreased proliferation,reflecting cell cycle ***,p53 has a greater role in decreased proliferation than cell death,as it appeared dispensable for TIFAinduced cell *** findings demonstrate a novel suppressive role of TIFA in HCC progression via promotion of cell death independent of p53.

岩体内裂隙等非连续结构面对岩体的强度及变形等力学特性有着显著的影响,研究岩体裂隙起裂、扩展、相互作用和贯通机制,对工程岩体力学行为的表征和工程性能的评价十分重要。本文基于连续介质力学模型的离散元方法,通过考虑裂隙分布、模型加载条件及其与裂隙产状的关系,建立了一系列裂隙力学计算模型,研究了不同模型裂隙扩展演化特征和岩体破裂机制,分析了岩体裂隙扩展规律及其对岩体破坏路径和强度的影响,研究结果表明:(1)裂隙岩体模型加载条件下的破坏起裂点、最终贯通破坏特征及损伤分布受控于裂隙的产状及其与最大主压应力取向角度大小及围压大小。(2)裂隙弱面走向与最大主压应力取向斜交时,裂隙弱面在加载条件下其端部裂隙扩展、贯通破坏表现比较明显,反之,当裂隙弱面走向与最大主压应力取向一致时,裂隙弱面被动影响裂隙模型内新生裂隙的萌生、扩展和贯通模式,自身未出现新的扩展破坏。(3)裂隙数目的增多和围压的增大会显著增加模型内部剪切裂缝的数量和模型破坏后的破碎程度,模型内部的损伤区域主要围绕破裂面呈滑移线型交叉分布,非破裂面区域损伤呈条带状X型分布。(4)裂隙弱面走向与最大主压应力取向斜交时,裂隙对岩体模型强度的弱化程度高于裂隙弱面走向与最大主压应力取向一致的情况,而裂隙模型破坏后的残余强度则正好相反。

Abundance and Diversity of the Phototrophic Microbial Mat Communities of Sulphur Mountain Banff Springs and Their Significance to the Endangered Snail, <i>Physella johnsoni</i>

Seasonal population fluctuations and diversity of anoxygenic phototrophs and cyanobacteria at the Sulphur Mountain thermal springs, Banff, Canada were investigated and compared to drastic population changes of the endangered snail Physella johnsoni. The microbial community revealed new species of anoxygenic phototrophic bacteria with novel spectral and morphological characteristics. Major mat-forming organisms included densely growing Thiothrix-like species, oxygenic phototrophs of the genera Spirulina, Oscillatoria, and Phormidium and purple nonsulfur bacteria Rhodobacter, Rhodopseudomonas and Rhodomicrobium. Aerobic anoxygenic phototrophs comprised a significant portion, upwards of 9.6 × 104 CFU/cm2 of mat or 18.9% of total aerobic heterotrophic isolates, while PNSB and purple sulfur bacteria were quantified at maximum abundance of 3.2 × 105 and 2.0 × 106 CFU/cm2 of mat, respectively. Photosynthetic activity revealed incredibly productive carbon fixation rates, averaging 40.5 mg C/cm2/day at one studied spring system. A temporal mismatch was observed for mat area and available organics to the fluctuation of P. johnsoni population in a tracking inertia manner. Mat chlorophyll a content appeared directly proportional to snail numbers making it an appropriate indicator of population. This survey of the Sulphur springs microbial communities suggests that phototrophic species are among the main determinants to the proliferation of P. johnsoni.

The chicken chorioallantoic membrane (CAM) is a classical in vivo biological model in studies of angiogenesis. Combined with the right tumor system and experimental configuration this classical model can offer new approaches to investigating tumor processes. The increase in development of biotechnolo- gical devices for cancer diagnosis and treatment, calls for more sophisticated tumor models that can easily adapt to the technology, and provide a more accurate, stable and consistent platform for rapid quantitative and qualitative analysis. As we discuss a variety of applications of this novel in vivo tumor spheroid based shell-less CAM model in biomedical engineering research, we will show that it is extremely versatile and easily adaptable to an array of biomedical applications. The model is particularly useful in quantitative studies of the progression of avascular tumors into vascularized tumors in the CAM. Its environment is more stable, flat and has a large working area and wider field of view excellent for imaging and longitudinal studies. Finally, rapid data acquisition, screening and validation of biomedical devices and therapeutics are possible with the short experimental window.
