In the present work the electronic density of states of liquid,viz.,Zintli alloys,have been studied only at the composition of their maximum resistivity to have an elementary idea about the behaviors of the alloys with respect to nearly free electron *** study reveals that the anomalous electronic behavior of liquid Li-Pb,Na-Pb,Li-Sn,and Na-Sn can be attributed to the preferential ordering of unlike atoms.

Source Code Prioritization Using Forward Slicing for Exposing Critical Elements in a Program

Even after thorough testing, a few bugs still remain in a program with moderate complexity. These residual bugs are randomly distributed throughout the code. We have noticed that bugs in some parts of a program cause frequent and severe failures compared to those in other parts. Then, it is necessary to take a decision about what to test more and what to test less within the testing budget. It is possible to prioritize the methods and classes of an object-oriented program according to their potential to cause failures. For this, we propose a program metric called influence metric to find the influence of a program element on the source code. First, we represent the source code into an intermediate graph called extended system dependence graph. Then, forward slicing is applied on a node of the graph to get the influence of that node. The influence metric for a method m in a program shows the number of statements of the program which directly or indirectly use the result produced by method m. We compute the influence metric for a class c based on the influence metric of all its methods. As influence metric is computed statically, it does not show the expected behavior of a class at run time. It is already known that faults in highly executed parts tend to more failures. Therefore, we have considered operational profile to find the average execution time of a class in a system. Then, classes are prioritized in the source code based on influence metric and average execution time. The priority of an element indicates the potential of the element to cause failures. Once all program elements have been prioritized, the testing effort can be apportioned so that the elements causing frequent failures will be tested thoroughly. We have conducted experiments for two well-known case studies -- Library Management System and Trading Automation System -- and successfully identified critical elements in the source code of each case study. Due to human-caused deforestation,global warming,and other environmental factors,habitat fragmentation became *** fragmentation has a variety of detrimental repercussions for many species as well as humans,especially in the agricultural *** causes insect outbreaks,the expansion of alien species,and disrupts biological management by rendering the habitat unsuitable for natural enemies in *** natural enemies with additional food is one method to improve the ecosystem and support *** this study,we assumed that the ecosystem is separated into two patches and that predators can easily migrate from one patch to the next,while prey stays inside its patch's *** looked at the impact of offering more food to predators in a patchy environment using dynamical systems *** permanence,stability,and various bifurcations that occur in the system are studied using a rigorous mathematical *** study looks at how predator's access to other food sources affects pest *** adjusting the provided food's characteristic qualities,such as(nutritional)quality and quantity,one can limit and manage the pest in one or both patches,as well as eliminate predators from the *** research reveals that providing predators with additional food(of specified quality and quantity)can help in controlling chaotic behavior in the *** findings of the study are supported by numerical simulations.

An IMC-PID controller was proposed for unstable second-order time delay system which shows the characteristics of inverse response(RHP zero). A plot of Ms versus λ was suggested to calculate the suitable tuning parameter λ, which provides a trade-off between performance and robustness. Six different forms of process models were selected from literature to show the applicability of the present method. Performance of controller was calculated by ITAE and total variation TV and compared with recently published tuning rules. Undesirable overshoot was removed by using a set-point weighting parameter. Robustness was tested by introducing a perturbation into the various model parameters and closed-loop results show that the designed controller is robust in the case of model uncertainty. The proposed method shows an overall better closed-loop response as compared to other recently reported methods.

This study reports on the effect of the addition of Glycine to Hank’s solution on the in-vitro corrosion behavior of AZ31 magnesium(Mg)alloy at 37℃and a pH of 7.4 studied by using potentiodynamic polarization(PDP),hydrogen collecting techniques and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS)in combination with surface characterization techniques such as optical microscopy(OM),scanning electron microscopy(SEM),energy dispersive spectroscopy(EDS),X-ray diffraction(XRD)and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy analysis(XPS).The results reveal that adsorption of glycine initially subdues the dissolution of AZ31 Mg alloy while in long run it enhances the dissolution of the alloy due to the commencement of the chelation effect of glycine with Ca^(2+) released from *** chelation of glycine with Ca^(2+) induces the formation of cracks in the surface film which further promotes the dissolution of AZ31 Mg alloy thereby forming a porous corrosion products layer on the surface of the *** a result,both the continuous dissolution of AZ31 magnesium alloy and the hydrogen evolution rate(HER)are enhanced with increasing the immersion time in Hank’s solution.

针对传统红外与可见光图像融合算法中存在的细节信息不够丰富,边缘信息保留不够充分等问题,文中提出了一种基于四阶偏微分方程(Fourth-order partial differential equation, FPDE)的改进的图像融合算法.算法首先采用FPDE将已配准的红外与可见光图像进行分解,得到高频分量和低频分量;然后,对高频分量采用基于主成分分析(Principal component analysis, PCA)的融合规则来得到细节图像,对低频分量采用基于期望值最大(Expectation maximization, EM)的融合规则来得到近似图像;最后,通过组合最终的高频分量和低频分量来重构得到最终的融合结果.实验是建立在标准的融合数据集上进行的,并与传统的和最近的融合方法进行比较,结果证明所提方法得到的融合图像比现有的融合方法能有效地综合红外与可见光图像中的重要信息,有更好的视觉效果.

Cancer stem cells (CSCs) are tumor initiating cells within the tumor mass;that play a critical role in cancer pathogenesis. CSCs regulate cancer cell survival, metastatic potential, resistance to conventional radio-chemotherapy, disease relapse and poor prognosis. Recent studies have established that the drug resistant cancers and cancer cell lines possess high stem cell like traits compared to their drug sensitive counterparts. Histone demethylases are recently been linked to drug induced reversible tolerant state in cancers. Lysine histone demethylases are enzymes those demethylate lysines in histones and can act as transcriptional repressors or activators. Apart from histones other cellular proteins like E2F1, Rb, STAT3 and p53 are also regulated by methylation and demethylation cycles. In cancer cells these enzymes regulate cell survival, migration, invasion, and proliferation. This review summarizes the current progress of research on the role of histone demethylases in supporting drug tolerant cancer stem cell state and their potential as a drug target.

Governance is a process of establishing policies or laws and continuously monitoring their implementation in the public. Citizens are the main stakeholders in this process. To make the governance process cost effective, easy and convenient to the citizens, information and communication technologies (ICTs) are playing a vital role. Using ICTs in governance domain can be referred as e-governance. It helps citizen to participate not only in policy making but also in service quality improvements and getting government services over network. Web technology is one of the major technologies that have been used in e-governance as a major contributor. Before invention of web, citizens used to write their opinions and send to concerned body via post mail or local suggestion box for improvements of services. After the invention of the web, it became possible to post or send the opinions/comments over organization’s web sites or portals. As the number of comments increases over the web, it is very difficult to have relevant information for furthering the decision making processes. In these study, text processing and data mining techniques have been used. The prototype system classifies citizen’s opinions in one of six service categories with the precision of 87.3% and recall of 85.8%. Further, the system determines opinions as appreciation with the precision of 100% for both depression and appreciation, and average recall of 90.85% for both depression and appreciation. The results obtained from the prototype system indicate that the techniques that have been applied are promising for real world application in e-governance.
