Effects of Salt Stress on Carbohydrate Metabolism in Desert Soil Alga Microcoleus vaginatus Gom

The effects of salt stress on carbohydrate metabolism in Microcoleus vaginatus Gom., a cyanobacterium isolated from desert algal crusts, were investigated in the present study. Extracellular total carbohydrates and exopolysaccharides （EPS） in the culture medium produced by M. vaginatus increased significantly during the growth phase and reached a maximum during the stationary phase. The production of extracellular carbohydrates also significantly increased under higher salt concentrations, which was attributed to an increase in low molecular weight carbohydrates. In the presence of NaCI, the production of cellular total carbohydrates decreased and photosynthetic activity was impaired, whereas cellular reducing sugars, water-soluble sugars and sucrose content and sucrose phosphate synthase activity increased, reaching a maximum in the presence of 200 mmol/L NaCI. These parameters were restored to original levels when the algae were transferred to a non-saline medium. Sodium and K＋ concentrations of stressed cells decreased significantly and H＋-ATPase activity increased after the addition of exogenous sucrose or EPS. The results suggest that EPS and sucrose are synthesized to maintain the cellular osmOtic equilibrium between the intra-and extracellular environment, thus protecting algal cells from osmotic damage, which was attributed to the selective exclusion of cellular Na＋ and K＋ by H＋-ATPase.

In this paper,the diffusive nutrient-microorganism model subject to Neumann boundary conditions is *** Hopf bifurcations and steady state bifurcations which bifurcate from the positive constant equilibrium of the system are investigated in *** addition,the formulae to determine the direction of Hopf and steady state bifurcations are *** results show the existence of spatially homogeneous/nonhomogeneous periodic orbits and steady state solutions,which indicates the spatiotemporal dynamics of the *** numerical simulations are also presented to support the analytical results.

Super-high bed sintering for iron ores:variation and optimization of bed resistance

As the bed depth increases,sintering yield increases,but the productivity *** reveal the reasons for the decrease in productivity and explore targeted solutions,the bed resistance of mixtures,wet zone,and combustion zone was analyzed in the *** results showed that the decreased porosity of mixture resulted in the increased bed resistance by 160.56%when the bed depth increased from 600 to 1000 *** improving porosity of 1%by adding loosening bars with optimized size and distribution,the bed resistance decreased,and the productivity increased by 5%.The increase in bed depth increased the thickness of the wet zone from 120 to 680 mm and the resistance from 1.56 to 8.83 *** using a three-stage intensive mixer and pre-adding water for granulation,the moisture of mixture was reduced by 0.6%,and the sintering productivity increased by 4%.Besides,the high bed resistance is mainly caused by the increase in the thickness of the combustion zone from 31.9 to 132.7 mm,and the bed resistance increased from 0.70 to 5.62 *** bed resistance of the combustion zone at 900 mm was increased by 90.51%compared to 700 *** optimization of the distribution of coke breeze,the thickness of combustion zone at the lower layer decreased from 132.7 to 106.84 mm and permeability improved significantly.

RE-SEGNN:recurrent semantic evidence-aware graph neural network for temporal knowledge graph forecasting

Temporal knowledge graph(TKG) reasoning, has seen widespread use for modeling real-world events, particularly in extrapolation settings. Nevertheless, most previous studies are embedded models, which require both entity and relation embedding to make predictions, ignoring the semantic correlations among different entities and relations within the same timestamp. This can lead to random and nonsensical predictions when unseen entities or relations occur. Furthermore, many existing models exhibit limitations in handling highly correlated historical facts with extensive temporal depth. They often either overlook such facts or overly accentuate the relationships between recurring past occurrences and their current counterparts. Due to the dynamic nature of TKG, effectively capturing the evolving semantics between different timestamps can be *** address these shortcomings, we propose the recurrent semantic evidenceaware graph neural network(RE-SEGNN), a novel graph neural network that can learn the semantics of entities and relations simultaneously. For the former challenge, our model can predict a possible answer to missing quadruples based on semantics when facing unseen entities or relations. For the latter problem, based on an obvious established force, both the recency and frequency of semantic history tend to confer a higher reference value for the current. We use the Hawkes process to compute the semantic trend, which allows the semantics of recent facts to gain more attention than those of distant facts. Experimental results show that RE-SEGNN outperforms all SOTA models in entity prediction on 6 widely used datasets, and 5 datasets in relation prediction. Furthermore, the case study shows how our model can deal with unseen entities and relations.

Size-dependent axisymmetric bending and buckling analysis of functionally graded sandwich Kirchhoff nanoplates using nonlocal strain gradient integral model

This paper extends the one-dimensional(1D) nonlocal strain gradient integral model(NStraGIM) to the two-dimensional(2D) Kirchhoff axisymmetric nanoplates,based on nonlocal strain gradient integral relations formulated along both the radial and circumferential directions. By transforming the proposed integral constitutive equations into the equivalent differential forms, complemented by the corresponding constitutive boundary conditions(CBCs), a well-posed mathematical formulation is established for analyzing the axisymmetric bending and buckling of annular/circular functionally graded(FG) sandwich nanoplates. The boundary conditions at the inner edge of a solid nanoplate are derived by L'H?spital's rule. The numerical solution is obtained by the generalized differential quadrature method(GDQM). The accuracy of the proposed model is validated through comparison with the data from the existing literature. A parameter study is conducted to demonstrate the effects of FG sandwich parameters, size parameters, and nonlocal gradient parameters.

In current neural network algorithms for nuclide identification in high-background,poor-resolution detectors,traditional network paradigms including back-propagation networks,convolutional neural networks,recurrent neural networks,etc.,have been limited in research on γ spectrum analysis because of their inherent mathematical *** is difficult to make progress in terms of training data requirements and prediction *** contrast to traditional network paradigms,network models based on the transformer structure have the characteristics of parallel computing,position encoding,and deep stacking,which have enabled good performance in natural language processing tasks in recent ***,in this paper,a transformer-based neural network (TBNN) model is proposed to achieve nuclide identification for the first ***,the Geant4 program was used to generate the basic single-nuclide energy spectrum through Monte Carlo simulations.A multi-nuclide energy spectrum database was established for neural network training using random matrices of γ-ray energy,activity,and *** on the encoder–decoder structure,a network topology based on the transformer was built,transforming the 1024-channel energy spectrum data into a 32×32 energy spectrum sequence as the model *** experiments and adjustments of model parameters,including the learning rate of the TBNN model,number of attention heads,and number of network stacking layers,the overall recognition rate reached 98.7%.Additionally,this database was used for training AI models such as back-propagation networks,convolutional neural networks,residual networks,and long shortterm memory neural networks,with overall recognition rates of 92.8%,95.3%,96.3%,and 96.6%,*** indicates that the TBNN model exhibited better nuclide identification among these AI models,providing an important reference and theoretical basis for the practical application of transformers in the qualitative and quantitativ

Synthesis of intermetallic PtCo fuel cell catalysts from bimetallic core@shell structured nanoparticles

The high activity and stability of intermetallic PtCo nanocatalysts toward oxygen reduction reaction make them a top candidate as low-Pt cathode catalysts in proton exchange membrane fuel cells（PEMFCs）.However,forming intermetallic structures typically requires high-temperature annealing,posing a challenge for achieving well-size control and highly ordered *** we report the design and synthesis of bimetallic co re@shell structured precursors for affording high-performance intermetallic PtCo *** fabrication of the core@shell precursor involves using a molecular ligand containing both sulfur and oxygen donors to selectively bind with Pt colloidal nanoparticles as the core and chelate Co ions as the *** high-temperature annealing,the ligand transforms into carbon coatings around alloy nanoparticles,preventing particle sintering;meanwhile,Co ions in the shell can easily diffuse into the Pt core,which helps to increase the thermodynamic driving force for forming intermetallic *** benefits enable us to obtain the catalyst with finely dispersed nanoparticles（～3.5 nm）and a high ordering degree of 72%.With 0.1 mgPt/cm2cathode loading,the catalyst delivers superior performance and durability in PEMFCs,showing an initial mass activity of 0.56 A/mgPt,an initial power density of 1.05 W/cm2at 0.67 V（H2-air）,and a voltage loss of 26 mV at 0.8 A/cm2after the accelerated durability test.

Revisit the Gibbs-Thomson Equation Fitting of Poly(butylene succinate)Based on Oligomer Extended-Chain Crystals

The equilibrium melting point(T_(m)^(0))is a crucial thermodynamic parameter for characterizing the crystallization and melting behavior of semi-crystalline ***,the direct measurement of T_(m)^(0) poses a significant challenge because of the difficulty in physically fabricating fully-extended chain crystals of high-molecular-weight ***,various extrapolation equations for T_(m)^(0) have been proposed that utilize the thermal properties of ordinary folded-chain *** these,the Gibbs-Thomson equation is one of the most commonly employed for *** its widespread use,there are notable variations in the T_(m)^(0) values obtained by different research groups,even when based on similar *** raises questions about the validity and accuracy of using the Gibbs-Thomson equation to linearly extrapolate T_(m)^(0).In this study,we prepared a series of oligomer extended-chain crystals(ECCs)of poly(butylene succinate)(PBS)and used their properties for Gibbs-Thomson *** results reveal a perfect linear relationship,with an extrapolated T_(m)^(0) value of 136.08℃.The basal surface free energy of the oligomer ECCs was calculated as 0.084 J/m^(2),which is approximately twice that of folded-chain *** difference is attributed to the aggregation of highly mobile free tails on the crystal *** two structural features of oligomer ECCs—large thickness and fixed surface—better fulfill the conditions for applying the Gibbs-Thomson equation,ensuring its validity and ***,we believe that the Gibbs-Thomson fit can produce reliable results when sufficient high-quality data are used.

Subsection cooling system of hot rolling silicon steel and its industrial application

An online subsection cooling method for hot rolling silicon steel was designed to achieve local adjustment of transverse roll ***,it was able to meet the requirements of edge drop of the strip by using the features of online thermal ***,after the new subsection spray beam was installed at the exit of mill,the special local cooling rules were analyzed for altering the thermal crown of roll according to rolling process ***,the dynamic impact of subsection cooling on the local thermal crown could just be obtained according to the measured ***,the heat transfer coefficient was determined by different subsection cooling curves under varied rolling ***,the rolling rhythm and variable conditions were important dynamic factors of transient roll temperature in practical rolling ***,real-time calculation and presetting of the thermal crown were carried out to maximize special requirements of load roll gap on local strip *** this new method,the transient temperature and the thermal crown of roll could be quantitatively controlled *** the practical results showed that the predicted temperature was able to match the measured value by more than 95%.Meanwhile,the adjustable range of thermal crown increased by more than 2.5 ***,the qualification rate of strip edge crown has increased from the original 30%to over 70%.
