We look at the link between c.imate c.ange and vec.or-borne diseases in low- and middle-inc.me c.untries in Afric.. The large endemic.ty and esc.lating threat of diseases suc. as malaria and arboviral diseases, intensified by c.imate c.ange, disproportionately affec.s vulnerable c.mmunities globally. We highlight the urgenc. of prioritizing researc. and development, advoc.ting for robust sc.entific.inquiry to promote adaptation strategies, and the vital role that the next generation of Afric.n researc. leaders will play in addressing these c.allenges. Despite signific.nt c.allenges suc. as funding shortages within c.untries, various pan-Afric.n-oriented funding bodies suc. as the Afric.n Ac.demy of Sc.enc.s, the Afric. Researc. Exc.llenc. Fund, the Wellc.me Trust, the U.S. National Institutes of Health, and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation as well as initiatives suc. as the Afric.n Researc. Initiative for Sc.entific.Exc.llenc. and the Pan-Afric.n Mosquito c.ntrol Assoc.ation, have empowered (or are empowering) these researc.ers by supporting c.pac.ty building ac.ivities, inc.uding c.ntinental and global networking, skill development, mentoring, and Afric.n-led researc.. This artic.e undersc.res the urgenc. of inc.eased national investment in researc., proposing the establishment of researc. government agenc.es to drive evidenc.-based interventions. c.llaboration between governments and sc.entific.c.mmunities, sustained by pan-Afric.n funding bodies, is c.uc.al. Through these efforts, Afric.n nations are likely to enhanc. the resilienc. and adaptive c.pac.ty of their systems and c.mmunities by navigating these c.allenges effec.ively, fostering sc.entific.exc.llenc. and implementing transformative solutions against c.imate-sensitive vec.or-borne diseases.

The Upper Guinean Forest region of West Afric.,a globally signific.nt biodiversity hotspot,is among the driest and most human-impac.ed tropic.l *** used Landsat to study forest degradation,loss,and rec.very in the forest reserves of Ghana from 2003 to *** c.nopy c.ver maps were generated using random forests and results were temporally segmented using the LandTrendr *** c.ver was predic.ed with a predic.ed-observed r2 of 0.76,mean absolute error of 12.8%,and mean error of 1.3%.Forest degradation,loss,and rec.very were identified as transitions between c.osed(>60%c.ver),open(15–60%c.ver)and low tree c.ver(c.ver)*** was relatively slow from 2003 to 2015,but there was more disturbanc. than rec.very resulting in a gradual dec.ine in c.osed c.nopy *** 2016,widespread fires assoc.ated with El Niño drought c.used forest loss and degradation ac.oss more than 12%of the moist semi-dec.duous and upland evergreen forest *** workflow was implemented in Google Earth Engine,allowing stakeholders to visualize the results and download *** about historic.l disturbanc.s will help to prioritize loc.tions for future studies and target forest protec.ion and restoration ac.ivities aimed at inc.easing resilienc..

Objec.ive:The objec.ive of the study is to desc.ibe the work-related quality of life(WRQOL)among nurses and explore its assoc.ation with performanc. evaluation ***:A c.oss-sec.ional design was utilized measuring the WRQOL sc.le and the previous performanc. appraisal *** sampling approac. was utilized with nurses stratified based on their position and then systematic.lly random sampled based on their unit ***:One hundred and eighty-two nurses were *** half reported a high quality of work life(101;55.5%).Low sc.res were noted on the subsc.le working c.nditions(100;54.9%),low to average responses for home-work interfac.(109;59.9%),c.ntrol at work(100;54.9%),and stress at work(90;49.5%).A higher proportion of nurses reported positive responses toward the areas of general well-being(113;62.1%)and job-c.reer satisfac.ion(112;61.5%),than in the other *** were notable differenc.s between WRQOL ratings:(1)Head nurses had the highest perc.ived quality of work life,followed by nurse supervisors and c.arge nurses(F=6.1,Pc.s reported lower quality of working life,while those in offic. and outpatient servic.s had more positive sc.res(F=4.6,Pc.nc.usion:Only more than half of the nurses reported a high quality of work life,some of its dimensions,partic.larly job and c.reer satisfac.ion and working c.nditions,appeared to vary in the perc.ived degree ac.oss years in servic.,work hours,and *** assessment of the quality of work life may serve as an important tool to address staff burnout,absenteeism and other issues that affec. job performanc. among health-c.re professionals.
