AiM:To evaluate the clinical significance of cystatin C and renal resistive index for the determination of renal function in patients with liver ***:We conducted a study of 63 patients with liver cirrhosis.A control group comprised of 30 age and gender-matched healthy *** cystatin C was determined in all study subjects and renal Doppler ultrasonography was *** glomerular filtration rate from serum creatinine(GFrCr)and cystatin C(GFrCys)was ***:We confirmed significant differences in val-ues of cystatin C between patients with different stages of liver cirrhosis according to Child-Pugh(P=0.01),and a significant correlation with model of end stage liver disease(MELD)score(rs=0.527,Pre patients with decreased glomerular filtration rate were identified based on GFrCys than on GFrCr(Pignificantly higher renal resistive index was noted in Child-Pugh C than in A(Pignificant correlation between renal resistive index and MELD score was observed(rs=0.607,Prenal resistive index correlated significantly with cystatin C(rs=0.283,P=0.028)and showed a negative correlation with GFrCys(rs=-0.31,P=0.016).CONCLUSiON:Cystatin C may be a more reliable marker for assessment of liver ***,cystatin C and renal resistive index represent sensitive indicators of renal dysfunction in patients with liver cirrhosis.

introduction: Adaptation to changes that occur with diabetes mellitus is often accompanied by a variety of negative emotional responses, including anger, guilt, frustration, denial, and loneliness. Objective: The aim of this study was to assess psychological domain of quality of life for people with diabetes mellitus in relation to some of the socio-demographic variables. Methods: The study included 150 patients with diabetes mellitus from October 2011 until June 2012 year, using the questionnaire for quality of life of the World Health Organization (WHOQOL-BrEF). results: Mean score for psychological health domain was 56.28 (± 14.88), without statistically significant difference in relation to sex and with a statistic significant difference decreased with increasing of age (F = 6.715, p = 0.000) and increased with the level of education (F = 7.958, p = 0.000). Negative emotions, such as blue mood, despair, anxiety, depression were present in almost 1/2 of the respondents, “often” (32.7%), “very often” (11.3%) and “always” (4.0%) without statistically significant difference in relation to gender, age and level of education. Discussion: Mean scores for psychological health domain were lower in older and less educated patients. Conclusion: Negative feelings were present in all patients indicating the need for preventive action to soften and reduce these negative feelings.

AiM： To estimate the characteristics of Color Doppler findings and the results of hepatic radionuclide angiography （HrA） in secondary Hodgkin＇s hepatic lymphoma. METHODS： The research included patients with a diagnosis of Hodgkin＇s lymphoma with metastatic focal lesions in the liver and controls. Morphologic characteristics of focal liver lesions and hemodynamic parameters were examined by pulsed and Color Doppler in the portal, hepatic and splenic veins were examined. Hepatic perfusion index （HPi） estimated by HrA was calculated. was observed. Lesions were mostly hypoechoic and mixed, solitary or multiple. Some of the patients presented with dilated splenic veins and hepatofugal blood flow. A pulse wave was registered in the centre and at the margins of lymphoma. The average velocity of the pulse wave was higher at the margins （P 〉 0.05）. A continuous venous wave was found only at the margins of lymphoma. There was no linear correlation between lymphoma size and velocity of pulse and continuous wave （r = 390, P 〈 0.01）. HPi was significantly lower in patients with lymphomas than in controls （P 〈 0.05）, pointing out increased arterial perfusion in comparison to portal perfusion. CONCLUSiON： Color Doppler ultrasonography is a sensitive method for the detection of neovascularization in Hodgkin＇s hepatic lymphoma and estimation of its intensity. Hepatic radionuclide angiography can additionally help in the assesment of vascularisation of liver lesions.

iv style="text-align:justify;"> in most cases, copper ore deposits occur at great depths, so the optimization of excavation costs is of utmost importance to identify the most cost effective and productive mining methods, such as block caving or similar methods specifically developed for these deposits. To be able to apply such methods, it is necessary to have a detailed knowledge of the rock mass in terms of its geomechanical, engineering geological and hydrogeological characteristics. This research aims to reduce geological and geotechnical unknowns, analyze in detail the geological environment, and predict geotechnical conditions for the construction of the shaft. This paper uses the example of Borska reka Copper Deposit, located in Serbia to illustrate the importance of geotechnical investigation to enable best practice in design and construction of shafts that are over 1000 m deep. iv>

The theoretical basis of the paper is Aron Antonovsky’s salutogenetic model of health,which is based on the salutogenic orientation and the sense of coherence understood as the central concept and the most important *** primary aim of the study is to determine the strength of the sense of family coherence in parents of optimally developing children and in parents of suboptimally developing children and their correlation with:family satisfaction and family orientation to crisis *** study was done using parents(N=394)sampled from the population of the republic of *** for Obtaining Basic Data,The Family Sense of Coherence Scale,The Family Adaptation Scale and Family Crisis-oriented Scales were used for the purposes of this *** findings of the study showed that parents of optimally developing children have a more heightened sense of family coherence than parents of suboptimally developing ***,the findings showed positive correlation with:family satisfaction and family orientation to crisis,and family sense of *** precisely,the sense of family coherence in the parents who participated in the research correlates positively with satisfaction with one’s own family and family orientation to crisis.

The purpose of the current study is to compare the influence of different aerobic conditions(biostimulation(BS), bioaugmentation(BA), and a combination of biostimulation and bioaugmentation(BB))on polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons(PAH) degradation and compare the degraded amount with single step XAD-4 extraction as a new tool for bioavailability assessment for chronically contaminated sediment samples obtained from territory of Autonomous Province Vojvodina of Serbia(S1, S2, and S3). A great number of papers dealing with biodegradation of PAHs in spiked sediment or soil have been published,but to the authors' knowledge, a limited number of papers studied aged, historically polluted sediment and a sum of chosen U.S. Environmental Protection Agency(USEPA) PAHs. A significant reduction(up to67%) in PAH concentration was observed, while the percentage of reduction varied depending on the sediment sample and treatment used. BS treatment successfully stimulated growth of indigenous bacteria. Further, PAH-degrading strain Sphingomonas paucimobilis F8 inoculated in BA and BB treatment survived for up to 7 weeks after it was suppressed by unfavorable conditions or native *** amounts generally showed good correlation with results obtained from XAD-4 *** obtained in the current study represent a good start for standardizing a XAD-4 extraction technique as a simplified, easier, and lower cost method for bioavailability assessment.

The thermodynamic properties and the microstructure, hardness and electrical conductivity of shape memory alloys （SMAs） belonging to ternary Cu？Al？Zn system were studied by Muggianu model and experiment, respectively. The isothermal section of phase diagram at 293 K was calculated using Thermo-Calc software. Experiments were conducted by X-ray diffraction, light optic microscopy, scanning electron microscopy with energy dispersive X-ray spectrometry, hardness and electrical conductivity measurements. The calculated values of thermodynamic properties indicate that Cu shows good miscibility with Al and Zn in all investigated alloys. The microstructural analysis of samples reveals that the structure consists of large and polygonal grains.
