Deep Learning Method and Infrared Imaging as a Tool for Transformer Faults Detection

In behaviour recognition, the development of the DL (Deep Learning) method introduced massive improvements in the field of artificial intelligence, where DL represents an upgrade of the present ANN (artificial neural network) architecture. Deep Learning as a comprehensive new field of artificial intelligence completely covers the neural networks architecture that is devised to carry out certain forms of identification, such as behaviour, forms of things, trends, similarities in complex forms, etc. Regarding thermography in energy, the cases used to illustrate this are photographs of active energy components in the plant. Failures that are seen with thermography cannot be recognized by other methods. However, an expert needs to do segmentation of focusing and classification of failures. The need for daily sampling and expert work is growing. With the DL method, it can be done in real time any time. One of the popular network architectures for using DL in image analysis is the recognition algorithm-CNN (convolution neural network). Traditional artificial intelligence methods require determining factors and computations, leading to training algorithm. Machine learning has important features as well as the right weight to make decisions about new input data. This work presents DL as a flexible and adaptive method for the analysis of thermal images of energy facilities, as well as a tool used for the construction and implementation of an efficient fault analysis on the 10/0.4 kV service transformer.

Physiological strategies in wild rodents:immune defenses of commensal rats

The importance of issues associated with urban/commensal rats and mice(property damage,management costs,and health risks)press upon research on these animals.While the demography of commensal rodents is mostly studied,the need for understanding factors influencing their natural morbidity/mortality is also stressed.In this respect,more attention is expected to be paid to immunity,the physiological mechanism of defense against host survival threats(pathogens,parasites,diseases).Commensal rats and mice carry numerous pathogens that evoke diverse immune responses.The state of immunity in commensal house mice is studied in great detail,owing to the use of laboratory strains in biomedical research.Because commensal rats are,compared to mice,carriers of more zoonotic agents,rats’immunity is studied mainly in that context.Some of these zoonotic agents cause chronic,asymptomatic infections,which justified studies of immunological mechanisms of pathogen tolerance versus clearance regulation in rats.Occurrence of some infections in specific tissues/organs pressed upon analysis of local/regional immune responses and/or immunopathology.A survey of immunological activity/responses in commensal rats is given in this review,with mention of existing data in commensal mice.It should throw some light on the factors relevant to their morbidity and lifespan,supplementing the knowledge of commensal rodent ecology.

Non-thermal atmospheric-pressure positive pulsating corona discharge in degradation of textile dye Reactive Blue 19 enhanced by Bi_(2)O_(3) catalyst

In this work,monoclinic Bi_(2)O_(3) was applied for the first time,to the best of our knowledge,as a catalyst in the process of dye degradation by a non-thermal atmospheric-pressure positive pulsating corona discharge.The research focused on the interaction of the plasma-generated species and the catalyst,as well as the role of the catalyst in the degradation process.Plasma decomposition of the anthraquinone reactive dye Reactive Blue 19(RB 19) was performed in a selfmade reactor system.Bi_(2)O_(3) was prepared by electrodeposition followed by thermal treatment,and characterized by x-ray diffraction,scanning electron microscopy and energy-dispersive xray techniques.It was observed that the catalyst promoted decomposition of plasma-generated H_(2)O_(2) into ·OH radicals,the principal dye-degrading reagent,which further attacked the dye molecules.The catalyst improved the decolorization rate by 2.5 times,the energy yield by 93.4%and total organic carbon removal by 7.1%.Excitation of the catalyst mostly occurred through strikes by plasma-generated reactive ions and radical species from the air,accelerated by the electric field,as well as by fast electrons with an energy of up to 15 eV generated by the streamers reaching the liquid surface.These strikes transferred the energy to the catalyst and created the electrons and holes,which further reacted with H_(2)O_(2) and water,producing ·OH radicals.This was indentified as the primary role of the catalyst in this process.Decolorization reactions followed pseudo first-order kinetics.Production of H_(2)O_(2) and the dye degradation rate increased with increase in the input voltage.The optimal catalyst dose was 500 mg·dm^(-3).The decolorization rate was a little lower in river water compared with that in deionized water due to the side reactions of ·OH radicals with organic matter and inorganic ions dissolved in the river water.

In this article,multiple attribute decision-making problems are solved using the vague normal set(VNS).It is possible to generalize the vague set(VS)and q-rung fuzzy set(FS)into the q-rung vague set(VS).A log q-rung normal vague weighted averaging(log q-rung NVWA),a log q-rung normal vague weighted geometric(log q-rung NVWG),a log generalized q-rung normal vague weighted averaging(log Gq-rung NVWA),and a log generalized q-rungnormal vagueweightedgeometric(logGq-rungNVWG)operator are discussed in this article.Adescription is provided of the scoring function,accuracy function and operational laws of the log q-rung VS.The algorithms underlying these functions are also described.A numerical example is provided to extend the Euclidean distance and the Humming distance.Additionally,idempotency,boundedness,commutativity,and monotonicity of the log q-rung VS are examined as they facilitate recognizing the optimal alternative more quickly and help clarify conceptualization.We chose five anemia patients with four types of symptoms including seizures,emotional shock or hysteria,brain cause,and high fever,who had either retrograde amnesia,anterograde amnesia,transient global amnesia,post-traumatic amnesia,or infantile amnesia.Natural numbers q are used to express the results of the models.To demonstrate the effectiveness and accuracy of the models we are investigating,we compare several existing models with those that have been developed.

Aerodynamics of a Tandem-Bladed Axial Compressor Rotor under Circumferential Distortion at Different Rotational Speeds

For most aircraft engines,inflow distortion is inevitable.Inflow distortion is known to degrade the aerodynamic performance and stable operating limits of a compressor.Tandem rotor configuration is an arrangement that effectively controls the growth of the boundary layer over the suction surface of the blade.Therefore,a higher total pressure rise can be achieved through this unconventional design approach involving the splitting of the blade into forward and aft sections.It is expected that the effect of inlet flow distortion would be more severe for a tandem-rotor design due to the greater flow turning inherent in such designs.However,this aspect needs to be thoroughly examined.The present study discusses the effect of circumferential distortion on the tandem-rotor at different rotational speeds.Full-annulus RANS simulations using ANSYS CFX are used in the present study.The performance of the rotor at a particular flow coefficient and different rotational speeds is compared.The total pressure and efficiency are observed to drop at lower mass flow rates under the influence of circumferential distortion.The loss region in each blade passage is mainly associated with the blade wake,tip leakage vortex,secondary flow,and boundary layer.However,their contribution varies from passage to passage,particularly in the distorted sector.At the lower span,the wake width is found to be higher than that at a higher span.Due to the redistribution of the mass flow,the circumferential extent reduces at a higher span.In the undistorted sector,the strength of the tip leakage vortex is significantly higher at the design rotational speed than at lower speeds.The distortion near the tip region promotes an early vortex breakdown even at the design operating condition.This adversely affects the total pressure,efficiency,and stall margin.Under clean flow conditions,this phenomenon is only observed near the stall point.At the design operating condition,the breakdown of the forward rotor tip leakage vortex is detected in four blade passages

In this paper,a stable and adaptive sliding mode control(SMC)method for induction motors is introduced.Determining the parameters of this system has been one of the existing challenges.To solve this challenge,a new self-tuning type-2 fuzzy neural network calculates and updates the control system parameters with a fast mechanism.According to the dynamic changes of the system,in addition to the parameters of the SMC,the parameters of the type-2 fuzzy neural network are also updated online.The conditions for guaranteeing the convergence and stability of the control system are provided.In the simulation part,in order to test the proposed method,several uncertain models and load torque have been applied.Also,the results have been compared to the SMC based on the type-1 fuzzy system,the traditional SMC,and the PI controller.The average RMSE in different scenarios,for type-2 fuzzy SMC,is 0.0311,for type-1 fuzzy SMC is 0.0497,for traditional SMC is 0.0778,and finally for PI controller is 0.0997.

Effect of special types of bread with select herbal components on postprandial glucose levels in diabetic patients

BACKGROUND Nutrition recommendations in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM)are to consume rye or integral bread instead of white bread.A positive effect on glucoregulation has been achieved by enriching food with various biologically active substances of herbal origin,so we formulated an herbal mixture that can be used as a supplement for a special type of bread(STB)to achieve better effects on postprandial glucose and insulin levels in patients with T2DM.AIM To compare organoleptic characteristics and effects of two types of bread on postprandial glucose and insulin levels in T2DM patients.METHODS This trial included 97 patients with T2DM.A parallel group of 16 healthy subjects was also investigated.All participants were given 50 g of rye bread and the same amount of a STB with an herbal mixture on 2 consecutive days.Postprandial blood glucose and insulin levels were compared at the 30^(th),60^(th),90^(th) and 120th min.A questionnaire was used for subjective estimation of the organoleptic and satiety features of the two types of bread.RESULTS Compared to patients who consumed rye bread,significantly lower postprandial blood glucose and insulin concentrations were found in T2DM patients who consumed STB.No relevant differences were found among the healthy subjects.Subjectively estimated organoleptic and satiety characteristics are better for STB than for rye bread.CONCLUSION STB have better effects than rye bread on postprandial glucoregulation in T2DM patients.Subjectively estimated organoleptic and satiety characteristics are better for STB than for rye bread.Therefore,STB can be recommended for nutrition in T2DM patients.

Digital Water Developments and Lessons Learned from Automation in the Car and Aircraft Industries

The provision of water and sanitation services is a key challenge worldwide.The size,complexity,and critical nature of the water and wastewater infrastructure providing such services make the planning and management of these systems extremely difficult.Following the digital revolution in many areas of our lives,the water sector has begun to benefit from digital transformation.Effective utilization of remotely sensed weather and soil moisture data for more efficient irrigation(i.e.,for food production),better detection of anomalies and faults in pipe networks using artificial intelligence,the use of nature-inspired optimization to improve the management and planning of systems,and greater use of digital twins and robotics all exhibit great potential to change and improve the ways in which complex water systems are managed.However,there are additional risks associated with these developments,including—but not limited to—cybersecurity,incorrect use,and overconfidence in the capability and accuracy of digital solutions and automation.This paper identifies key advances in digital technology that have found application in the water sector,and applies forensic engineering principles to failures that have been experienced in industries further ahead with automation and digital transformation.By iden-tifying what went wrong with new digital technologies that might have contributed to high-profile acci-dents in the car and aircraft industries(e.g.,Tesla self-driving cars and the Boeing 737 MAX),it is possible to identify similar risks in the water sector,learn from them,and prevent future failures.The key findings show that:①Automation will require“humans in the loop”;②human operators must be fully aware of the technology and trained to use it;③fallback manual intervention should be available in case of tech-nology malfunctioning;④while redundant sensors may be costly,they reduce the risks due to erroneous sensor readings;⑤cybersecurity risks must be considered;and⑥ethics issues have to be considered,given the increasing a

A modified EDAS model for comparison of mobile wallet service providers in India

The present paper has two-fold purposes.First,the current work provides an integrated theoretical framework to compare popular mobile wallet service providers based on users’views in the Indian context.To this end,we propose a new grey correlationbased Picture Fuzzy-Evaluation based on Distance from Average Solution(GCPF-EDAS)framework for the comparative analysis.We integrate the fundamental framework of the Technology Acceptance Model and Unified theory of acceptance and use of technology vis-a-vis service quality dimensions for criteria selection.For comparative ranking,we conduct our analysis under uncertain environments using picture fuzzy numbers.We find that user-friendliness,a wide variety of use,and familiarity and awareness about the products help reduce the uncertainty factors and obtain positive impressions from the users.It is seen that PhonePe(A3),Google Pay(A2),Amazon Pay(A4)and PayTM(A1)hold top positions.For validation of the result,we first compare the ranking provided by our proposed model with that derived by using picture fuzzy score based extensions of EDAS and another widely used algorithm such as The Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution.We observe a significant consistency.We then carry out rank reversal test for GCPF-EDAS model.We notice that our proposed GCPF-EDAS model does not suffers from rank reversal phenomenon.To examine the stability in the result for further validation,we carry out the sensitivity analysis by varying the differentiating coefficient and exchanging the criteria weights.We find that our proposed method provides stable result for the present case study and performs better as ranking order does not get changed significantly with the changes in the given conditions.

Three-way Subsynchronous Torsional Interactions Between LCC HVDC,MMC HVDC and a Thermal Generator

This paper performs a study on three-way subsynchronous torsional interactions(SSTI)between a hybrid dual-infeed high-voltage direct current(HVDC)system and a nuclear generator.The test case is based on the French IFA2000 line commutated converter(LCC)HVDC(2 GW)and the new Eleclink modular multilevel converter(MMC)HVDC(1 GW)interacting with the Gravelines generator(1 GW).The analysis is performed by the means of the eigenvalue stability assessment on an analytical model,while the accuracy of the conclusions is verified using the detailed non-linear electromegnetic transient program(EMTP)model.The study shows that the dual-infeed system may introduce higher risk of the SSTI compared with the point-to-point HVDC systems.It shows that MMC operating as static synchronous compensator(STATCOM)may further reduce the torsional damping at 6.3 Hz mode.This conclusion may be unexpected since it is known fact from literature that STATCOM has a beneficial impact on the transient performance of LCC.Further studies show that in a sequential HVDC loading,it may be beneficial to load the MMC HVDC first.Also,the risk of the SSTI may be minimized by changing HVDC controller gains,in particular,by increasing phaselocked-loop(PLL)gains on the LCC rectifier.
