The objective of this experim.nt was to investigate the effects of dr.ed powder of Calendula ojficinalis L.(m.rigold)flower as an antibiotic growth prom.ter substitute on growth perform.nce,organ weights,and im.unological param.ters in broilers.A total of 240 m.xed sex broilers(Ross 308)at 1 d of age were individually weighed and random.y assigned to 4 treatm.nts with 4 replicates of 15 birds for 6 *** dietary treatm.nts were:1)a basal diet(control);2)control plus 4.5 m. flavophospholipol/kg of diet;3)control plus 5 g m.rigold/kg of diet;4)control plus 10 g m.rigold/kg of *** responses against Newcastle(NDV),influenza(AI)viruses,and sheep red blood cells(SRBC)were *** 4.5 m. flavophospholipol/kg of diet enhanced body weight(BW)of broilers at 14 and 28 d of age(Pm.rkedly *** 14 and 28 d of age,broilers fed diets supplem.nted with 10 g m.rigold/kg of diet had significantly lower BW com.ared with broilers fed the basal diet supplem.nted with antibiotic or 5 g m.rigold/kg of *** the starter period,broilers fed diets supplem.nted with antibiotic had significantly(Pm.ared with broilers supplem.nted with 10 g m.rigold/kg of diet,but did not differ from.broilers fed the basal diet or basal diet supplem.nted with 5 g m.rigold/kg of *** were no significant differences in FCR between treatm.nts,during grower,finisher phases as well as for the whole *** yield was significantly(Pm.nted with 5 g m.rigold/kg of diet com.ared with broilers in other *** treatm.nts failed to induce any m.rked effect on im.une *** conclusion,the results of this experim.nt showed that supplem.ntation of 5 and 10 g dr.ed powder of m.rigold/kg of diet has no affirm.tive influence on growth perform.nce of broilers.

m.ss Transfer： a Deciding Factor for the m.ltiplicity of an Event in Deep Inelastic Collisions

Interm.diate stage of the three and four-pronged events is investigated in the reaction ^208Pb＋^197Au at beam.energy 11.67 m.V/u. m.ltiprong events are analysed num.rically using an em.irical m.ss-dependent velocityrauge relation. Using the m.asured three-dim.nsional coordinates of correlated tracks, it is possible to determ.ne the quantities such as m.ss transfer and total kinetic energy loss. These quantities are then used to study the interm.diate stage of the reaction. It has been observed that m.ss transfer and total kinetic energy loss at the first step of the reaction decides the m.ltiplicity of an event at the second stage of the sequential fission process.

Evaluation of m.rphom.tric Param.ters Studies in m.ddle-West Part of Kushtia District, Bangladesh, Using Rem.te Sensing and GIS Techniques

This study finds 1D, 2D and 3D m.rphom.tric param.ters of the m.ddle-west part of Kushtia district, Bangladesh to im.lem.nt groundwater potential. For this purpose, the SRTm.(DEm. data were used to com.ute different param.ters in GIS environm.nt. The values of 1D param.ters like stream.order, stream.length and m.an bifurcation ratio was calculated as 6, 1774.72 km.and 2.08 respectively. The com.uted values of dr.inage density (0.01 - 23.06 km.km.sup>2), stream.frequency (1 - 5.64 per km.sup>2), dr.inage texture (0.25 - 0.70 km.km.sup>4), length of overland flow (0.02 - 45.05 km.sup>2/km., constant of channel m.intenance (0.04 - 90.04 km.sup>2/km., circularity ratio (0.39 - 0.84), form.factor (0.35), elongation ratio (0.62), relief ratio (0.00 - 1.81) and ruggedness num.er (0.04 - 214.72) disclose the m.rphom.trical conditions of the study area. The results revealed from.this study on dr.inage m.rphom.try can be a great assistance for understanding the hydr.-geom.rphological character of the area.

Sm.ll Angle Neutron Scattering and X-Ray Diffraction Studies of Nanocrystalline Titanium.Dioxide

Nanocrystalline titanium.dioxide powder is characterized for phase analysis as well as particle size and its distribution by x-ray diffraction and sm.ll angle neutron scattering m.asurem.nts. Analysis of the SANS data in the m.m.ntum.transfer range q = 0.1 - 1.8 nm.1 reveals an average particle size of 24.82 nm.in good agreem.nt with the particle size determ.ned earlier by transm.ssion electron m.croscopy. XRD m.asurem.nt proves co-existence of rutile and anatase phases in this com.ercial TiO2 nanocrystalline powder.

Identification of Aquifer Properties in the Eastern Part of Kushtia District, Bangladesh

The present study has been undertaken to depict spatial distribution of different aquifer param.ters in the eastern part of Kushtia district through a detailed hydr.geological survey. For this investigation, 119 lithologs and 92 pum.ing test data have been used. These data have been processed, analyzed, interpreted and krigged for the spatial assessm.nt of the aquifer properties viz. transm.ssivity, hydr.ulic conductivity, hydr.ulic diffusivity, specific yield, radius of influence, and specific dr.wdown. It is seen from.the investigation that the transm.ssivity and hydr.ulic conductivity values obtained from.the pum.ing tests of the wells are varying from.1811 m.sup>2/day to 2568 m.sup>2/day and 32.5 m.day and 61.5 m.day respectively, the hydr.ulic diffusivity being ranging from.181,143 m.sup>2/day to 256,788 m.sup>2/day. The estim.ted specific yield of 17.97% - 23.46% supports that the area is dom.nated with coarse grained sands. This study reveals that the distribution of deep tube wells in the area are not within the radius of influence (638 - 760 m. each other, but few shallow and hand tube wells existed within the radius of influence. The estim.ted specific dr.w down is varying from.57 m.cum.c to 126.1 m.cum.c. From.the overall analysis, it is found that the area is favorable for groundwater exploration.

Saudi Arabia has some of the biggest oil and gas reserves in the world, and has expanded its drilling operations gradually to meet the global demand. Improper handling of contaminated drilling wastes may cause serious negative environmental impacts. The current study investigates the toxicological effects of heavy metals in drilling waste by quantification and developing different contamination indices. Solid and liquid samples from different drilling waste pits were collected and analyzed for heavy metals. The average concentration varies significantly and decreases in the order of Fe > Al > Sr > Mn > Cu > Cr > Zn > Ni > Pb > Cd > Ag > Co. The spatial variation showed the highest concentration at SDGM Site 1, West. Comparison of current data showed continental crust average values within the specifications for most of the sites. For metals like Cd, Cr and Cu, the concentration is higher than the continental crust value. Indices such as pollution load index, modified degree of contamination etc. were calculated from the available data.
