LISS-IV sat.llit. image resolut.on 5 m × 5 m provides qualit. informat.on for ident.ficat.on of Land use/Land cover charact.rist.cs. t.e image accuracy shows 45.70% of Agricult.ral land, 9.10% Built.up land, Forest.area is 7.90%, Barren land have 7.60% and Uncult.vat.d land occupied 29.70%. Nat.onal land use and land cover mapping report.based on 5 divisions classified in t.e st.dy area. t.e area land use and land cover classificat.on provide reliable dat. t. underst.nd land, wat.r, soil, forest., urban sprawl. t.is socio economic survey significant.y shows t.e changes t.at.so far have t.ken place. t.is will help t.e people/farmers for t.e fut.re land use and land cover change det.ct.on. Regular monit.ring of agricult.re, forest.and greening effort. for plant.t.on at.suit.ble area, schemes and limit.t.ons. t.e major advant.ges of homogeneous charge compression ignit.on （HCCI） are high efficiency in combinat.on wit. low NOx-emissions. However, one of t.e major challenges wit. HCCI is t.e cont.ol of higher peak pressures which may damage t.e engine, limit.ng t.e HCCI engine life period. In t.is paper, an at.empt.is made t. analyze comput.t.onally t.e effect.of induct.on swirl in cont.olling t.e peak pressures of an HCCI engine under various operat.ng paramet.rs. A single cylinder 1.6 L reent.ant.pist.n bowl diesel engine is chosen. For comput.t.onal analysis, t.e ECFM-3Z model of St.R - CD is considered because it.is suit.ble for analyzing t.e combust.on processes in SI and CI engines. As an HCCI engine is a hybrid version of SI and CI engines, t.e ECFM- 3Z model wit. necessary modificat.ons is used t. analyze t.e peak pressures inside t.e combust.on chamber. t.e ECFM-3Z model for HCCI mode of combust.on is validat.d wit. t.e exist.ng lit.rat.re t. make sure t.at.t.e result. obt.ined are accurat.. Numerical experiment. are performed t. st.dy t.e effect.of varying propert.es like speed of t.e engine, pist.n bowl geomet.y, exhaust.gas recirculat.on （EGR） and equivalence rat.o under different.swirl rat.os in cont.olling t.e peak pressures inside t.e combust.on chamber. t.e result. show t.at.t.e swirl rat.o has a considerable impact.on cont.olling t.e peak pressures of HCCI engine. A reduct.on in peak pressures are observed wit. a swirl rat.o of 4 because of reduced in cylinder t.mperat.res. t.e combined effect.of four operat.ng paramet.rs, i.e., t.e speed of t.e engine, pist.n bowl geomet.y, EGR, and equivalence rat.o wit. swirl rat.os suggest.t.at.lower int.ke t.mperat.res, reent.ant.pist.n bowl, higher engine speeds and higher swirl rat.os are favorable in cont.olling t.e peak pressures.

Homogeneous charge compression ignit.on(HCCI) mode of combust.on is popularly known for achieving simult.neous reduct.on of NOx as well as soot.emissions as it.combines t.e compression ignit.on(CI) and spark ignit.on(SI) engine feat.res. In t.is work, a CI engine was simulat.d t. work in HCCI mode and was analyzed t. st.dy t.e effect.of induct.on induced swirl under varying speeds using t.ree-zone ext.nded coherent.flame combust.on model(ECFM-3Z, compression ignit.on) of St.R-CD. t.e analysis was done considering speed ranging from 800 t. 1600 r/min and swirl rat.os from 1 t. 4. t.e present.st.dy reveals t.at.ECFM-3Z model has well predict.d t.e performance and emissions of CI engine in HCCI mode. t.e simulat.on predict. reduced in-cylinder pressures, t.mperat.res, wall heat.t.ansfer losses, and pist.n work wit. increase in swirl rat.o irrespect.ve of engine speed. Also, simult.neous reduct.on in CO2 and NOx emissions is realized wit. higher engine speeds and swirl rat.os. Low speeds and swirl rat.os are favorable for low CO2 emissions. It.is observed t.at.increase in engine speed causes a marginal reduct.on in in-cylinder pressures and t.mperat.res. Also, higher t.rbulent.energy and velocit. magnit.de levels are obt.ined wit. increase in swirl rat.o, indicat.ng efficient.combust.on necessit.t.ng no modificat.ons in combust.on chamber design. t.e invest.gat.ons reveal a t.t.l decrease of 38.68% in CO2 emissions and 12.93% in NOx emissions when t.e engine speed increases from 800 t. 1600 r/min at.swirl rat.o of 4. Also an increase of 14.16% in net.work done is obt.ined wit. engine speed increasing from 800 t. 1600 r/min at.swirl rat.o of 1. t.e simulat.on indicat.s t.at.t.ere is a t.adeoff observed bet.een t.e emissions and pist.n work. It.is finally concluded t.at.t.e HCCI combust.on can be regarded as low t.mperat.re combust.on as t.ere is significant.decrease in in-cylinder t.mperat.res and pressures at.higher speeds and higher swirl rat.os.

Sequent.al ext.act.on analysis （SEA） was supplement.d by mineralogical invest.gat.on of bot. bulk samples and heavy mineral fract.ons using X-ray diffract.on analysis （XRD） and scanning elect.on microscopy wit. an energy dispersive X-ray spect.omet.r （SEM/EDS）. t.e mineralogy of Fe and Mn oxides was st.died by volt.mmet.y of micropart.cles （VMP） and diffuse reflect.nce spect.omet.y （drS）. Zinc and Pb were predominant.y bound in t.e reducible fract.on at.ribut.d t. Fe oxides and Mn oxides （mainly birnessit., Na4Mn14O27.9H2O）, which were det.ct.d in soils by XRD and SEM/EDS. In cont.ast. Cd was t.e most.mobile cont.minant.and was predominant.y present.in t.e exchangeable fract.on. Arsenic was bound t. t.e residual and reducible fract.ons （corresponding t. Fe oxides or t. unident.fied Fe-Pb arsenat.s）. SEM/EDS observat.ons indicat. t.e predominant.affinit. of Pb for Mn oxides, and t. a lesser ext.nt. for Fe oxides. t.us, a more suit.ble SEA procedure should be used for t.ese mining-affect.d soils t. dist.nguish bet.een t.e cont.minant.fract.on bound t.
